Her mother is so pitiful in many ways.. i understand her totally , all her actions.. i feel mother is experiencing PTSD herself. That helplessness to protect her own kid (qiao beiyu), guilt of abandoning , and loosing her in that bad way ...and trying to do excessively to protect another daughter...neither kids needed the underwhelming care or excessive care..... one died for a flicker of warmth..another struggling to breathe due to her over protection... poor mother trying everything to protect them, but all wrongly
Watched till ep7.. at this point it seems ,Ml's friends are the ones who bully FL the most.. ML tries to protect her in his own way but never directly confront his friends about their behavior. I understand considering everything that was probably the best way to do it. Bit given his friends , the 2 guys and 2 gals , seem to cherish their friendship with him, he could have prevented their bullying more actively ..one of his friends crosses line many times - once mocking say she may share her sisters personality with regards to men , and almost say they may have a chance with her, ...or his unforgiving behaviour when she comes to give the take away order.. .. its really depressing that monsters live amoung us , within us...we treat people going through difficult times so harshly that they tither to the wrong side unable to handle it all..qiao beiyu story is heart wrenching.. all that poor gal was seeking was some warmth.. so sad it evaded her till last... and she went away without experiencing even an iota of it...😪
This drama is very interesting. I wish they found a way to add the backstory also.... They could have used season 1 , 2 ....mode..to add as much as possible from.novel... seems we are missing some interesting backstories, arcs, side stories

It seems generals and their families had it tough during ancient times.. every one including the emperor is jealous of their commanding an army.. while they live most of their lives on the frontiers while their families may or may not be accompanying them.. and always watchout for any scheme to bring them down.. if they lose battles , humiliations and punishements await , including death..if they win , public commendation but privately things will be in motion to kill them.. while in the formal case , death is public ..while in the later case it could be some private scheme or tapped in a scheme to be publicly executed.. ..i wonder why would anyone want that life which would eventually end in death ..in battlefield or at the hands of their own
What puzzles me is how had she risen to the level of all powerful general without grooming 'her people' who are loyal to just her... not a single staff who is hardcore loyal and can vouch for her. How can an all powerful general cant prove her credentials... okie ML hadnt seen her for a long time..but soldiers from her army seen her , how could no one not know who is their general and who isnt .. her brother cant just walk in and claim to be their general
ML spent some years studying with FL , and also seem to have fought alongside but still doesnt recognise her voice , built , gait , body language , fighting style .. ???
