yes , deserve better ratings but.. i feel the 1st 2 episodes could have been handled better .. i love the cast , and story seem to have depth....but screen play felt rushed. ..took me sometime to understand whats going on

the novel had immense potential.. this could have been a great series if they casted an actress with better chemistry with ML or someone who is tolerable despite irritable characterization.... i understand the FL's character in novel - but here the casted actress makes it more unbearable though i understand why she acts the way she does.. my peeve with the story was ML does so much , FL does nothing ... this has been the case of many series in chinese industry ...a very busy and very succeessful ML will do every thing for FL...including cooking...and FL's does nothing.. not sure if this is healthy portreyal either.. show both as equals sharing equal responsibility like adults ..not one as child/childlike and other all responsibility taker... this will build unreasonable expectations on women... and not true representation
i have been flagging this for sometime.. looks at all the recent drama.. do the actors look healthy ..even 3rd world people eat better and look better than chinese actos... tian xi wei in recent drama is all bones...i really love her , and her bubbly aura ..and thought she is very pretty lookinb=g and yes beautiful ..and why she lost so much weight for POJ ? zhao lu si is another case that should have alerted all actors and actresses , that it is not worth putting their health on the table for mercurial fans like us..who has no real love or concern but just comments on everything about them... heard of/read so many new items about health of bailu , meng ziyi, and so many ..... overworking is definetely the case...but where is healthy weight ...arent the actos not eating themselves or agencies are pushing them to not eat or not allowing them to eat forceably or some mafia is working behind them and making them work like slaves ..like real...not pretend... we had that case of that actor who was killed last september..is that the case with all actors?

this is not a simple college drama that he can easily accept. after seeing so many period dramas i understand why they had to think through so much for marriages.. and she doesnt exactly present a best option given her family background - commoner , business family , and illegimate child. not exactly a match he can pick and can get approval of cabinet (remember he had to get approval of cabinet for marriage - and earlier he asked PM to veto marriage alliances from queen mother) - she doesnt exactly represent a good option and MOST IMPORTANTLY - she uses the word divorce in the 1st proposal meeting and not even indicate any romantic inclination - and we know he seems to have a crush /love on her since school and in those circumstances how would he want to go for marriage with her....and most importantly, marrying him is like throwing her into fire with queen mother plotting against him..may be he doesnt want to put her through all that...
he likes her... but so many reasons... and i still think he leaked the news to news channels finally after seeing how seriously she is pursuing him and to ensure marriage happens...and only a scandal can ensure marriage happens.....
