She exudes a calm mature aura , that i didnt feel it was mismatch or sugar daddy vibes or immature decision to get together .... i enjoyed it so much.. and yes the writers let us down in the later episodes.. also.. i watched a better life recently and sunli and the ML in that series seemed so forced ..the age gap was apparant and no romantic chemistry and it seemed wrong if they get together 🤣🤦♀️

He is an important pillsr of country . Even if she has to move into his house,Why would emperor have foreign princess in such an household? That would compromise his country security and if yan chi wanted to rebel, he will have a neighboring country full support ..it would be inviting wolf into ones home... emperor would rather qin wan marry yan chi since she doesnt bring any form of support to yan chi and increase his chances at stealing kingdom
ML is the best strategist and general, why would emperor loose such a young talent to a neighboring country? Whether he likes prince rui and his heir or not , emperor would work extra hard to keep ML safe from foreign princess 🤣🤦♀️

Also, i agree on casting choices - I always thought Li landi is very beautiful, but somehow her strengths are not highlighted enough by styling department in other series- Her beautiful eyes (their makeup) and wondering styling was what that caught my attention when i started this series and my 1st comment on this series here. Even ML looks very sharp and well styled (both have beautiful eyes) , like justice has been done to his and her great looks
Yuheng is my favorite character. Though she started off as timid but not above scheming , she has course corrected her self and proved herself worthy of our appreciation. she is one character that had a admirable character development in this series.
While Yuheng was winning us , Ni Zhan really disappointed me . When he confronted ML about FL the 1st time. he started with " it would be very awkward for me if you start having feelings for your trainee student". he clearly known FL likes ML and has now seen ML rising affection for FL, still to frame it like that , knowing ML's cautious , secretive , sticking to principles and propriety behavioural nature - (NiZhan knows ML in and out, having knowing him for so long) - I know he was fighting for him self for a chance with FL by manipulating MLs response using ML's personality and guilt . No true friend does that, especially one who almost became his brother in law. While ML places his relationship with NiZhan above even his crush and future happiness with FL . one is benevolent here , and another scheming - not a fair and level playing field this is , that NiZhan keeps claiming he will play while competing for things . he schemes and tries to steal , and the good name he has is that " he is considerate toward his people ", but none of them had something he wants , he would have shown his colors if they had and would have gotten taste of his "true" benevolence. i thought it was below the belt when he didn't backout even after seeing from time to time how deeply FL likes ML or ML likes her. No one should have such a friend. Only when FL hinted sublty she has no interest , and would reconsider their current relationship/commeradie by going back to formal relationship , that he backed out .. self respect and decency are both lacking in Nizhan - I agree with the disgraced Minister Jiang Tao, Nizhan has attitude to make lushan Airlines successful , ML is too benevolent and straight forward. But at what cost? crushing of ethics at the alter of growth?

While watching the princess's gambit i had a question , why would a crown prince need to be so extremely corrupt , cruel and work so hard behind the scenes for greater power and money. All he needs is sit tight , and someday he will be the ruler. i think the answer to that question I got from this series. Though nominated to the post, crown prince's position is not secured, and any thing can happen between the nomination and getting crowned as emperor. So they do everything to be in the dominant place , to crash contentors - aspiring or not , any capable competition , they would eliminate. Its kill or be killed situation , unfortunately for them. Coming to the 2 fighting princes - of both , crown prince is not as capable or scheming as prince cheng. his mother and Qin's family is holding fort for him. while prince cheng is very scheming , he doesn't need a scheming mother , though his mother is adequately competent and supports him well. (Prince jin was eliminated because he was seen as a contender to the post- though I think crownprince is not as capable to have done this crime. may be prince cheng , who appears to have that mean demeanour.)
Cheng Xiaos mom proved she is the best lawyer (not best mom though!), the way she dug up her property papers and identity documents and tried to sell off her house. Am usually on the parents side , understanding their side of reasoning too. But trying to selling off unilaterally , without discussing even with her dad either, and defending herself wih the reasoning 'am your mom' doesnt cut it for me. I now understand cheng xiao trying to live away from her parents. FL wanted to buy a house and surprise her parents with this big achievement, her mom trivialized it so badly. So unfair for her daughter and mom doesnt even realise what she is doing to her daughter
Met one of the best c drama dads in this series.. what a wonderful dad.!! Cheng xiaos dad is really really the best .. as good as Seven Tans dad in Go ahead
My comment has nothing to do withh main leads romance ...am just referring to underlying theme of cases.. leads have great chemistry ..and looks like it will a great romance for viewers to watch
In all the 3 cases , the underlying reasons for murders is love .. not the healthy kind .. bride's death due to affair with wrong person (case1), FL's cousin's love for the maid resulted in deaths (case2) , obsessive love of FL's senior for his already dead wife (case3)
