Listen, this drama was a 10/10 up until episode 34 when it took a swift nose dive for me. I felt that both leads…
I could not agree more. I really wanted the side couples to make it out alive. The novel did not kill off Wei Liang or Manman's cousin. Her death stunned me more because I had a spoiler about our chubby general. Overall, it was a fantastic drama but the last 3 episodes traumatized me.
Why does zhixiao call her dad, "Mr. Lin," or is that wrong subtitles?
She calls him Teacher Lin because he was a teacher/principal at her school. He acted as her instructor first and father second. It became a habit she has kept since school.
I wanted to like this drama more than I did. The main leads had good chemistry and the kid was cute. The child was supposed to be 4 years old but was way too mature in the role. He looks the same after a 2 year time jump. I liked that they tackled work place harrassment and discrimination. I just found it all to be too filled with tropes and a childish male lead.
Things they could have done with Manhwis character 1. Legendary vampire fight. 2. Not make him die like an idiot…
Exactly. What bugged me is that Butler Joo and Seon Woo Hyeol never learn that Lee Man Whi is dead. It would be an important thing to know for the Dad and the other vampires. Major plot hole there.
I can understand the disappointment around a sad ending. I dislike sad endings myself. I am a vampire buff and have watched hundreds of vampire films or TV shows. You have to go in with the knowledge that most of the time, the vampire will come to a sad/bad end. It is the nature of the genre. Vampires are the undead and natural villains as a general rule. Seon Woo Hyel being an exception.
So, we didn't get the shower scene then? Am I watching the uncut 1 hour 42 minutes version and they're cutting…
Also, what happened to the scene where Jeng has Pat pressed up against the glass of a floor to ceiling office window? It was in the pilot trailer but not in the series or did I miss it.
