You are welcome. It's my first time ever watching him 😅 I noticed he has similar features with Cheng yi when the camera doesn't zoom in his face. The trailer looked interesting... So, I have high expectations.

me too, as long as it's interesting. I don't mind who are the leads. The only period drama I heard so far, it's hidden shadow on Youku. Not sure if it's a costume xianxia or historical.
The drama started hot in the first 20 episodes. Like any drama there's ups & downs. Let me hope the remaining episodes it gets back to how it was.
I feel like the tone of the drama is no longer the same. I'm re-watching old episodes since I miss that feeling. The leads marriage led to the sudden change of story or what something feels rushed since the father was exposed. The transition from episode 21 to 25 was not done well from my perspective. It felt rushed that the impact of those episodes didn't give me much thought on them. I got mixed feelings.
Episode 21-23: Hanyan's big gamble produced good & bad results. to the consort death & Yunxi getting his job back. Was it necessary for them to stretch for 3 episodes? 2 episodes is enough. They got allies if ever there are in trouble. Who knows?
I'm confused with our male lead acting as a perfect husband. It was dumb for him to let his guard down so quickly.
Are they going to address Yunxi's fathers death? We heard about him having illness. I think, I'm a bit tired with Hanyan's family drama at this point. I expected them to explore more with Fu family since she married but it's still the same thing. It gets boring too much of something.
What happened to Yunxi trying to find the stolen goods or locate the wealth that Pei Dafu left? Ever since the adopted son plot was revealed. The goal is forgotten. Why did he want Pei Dafu's wealth in the first place?
As for Yushan there's no accountability or remorse for her involvement in her brothers silly death. After his demise, she was making big smart statement that she won't let her marriage be used as an power trip. Now, she's acting the opposite to it. (You see why Yunxi didn't want to marry you? so easily manipulated! Silly girl!)
I really fought hard to not roll my eyes at episode 24 & 25...
The exposing of the poison might lead to antidote since the type of poison is identified. who knows!? I'm not having high expectations on cdrama ending.
It's kinda obvious that Pei Dafu and Yunxi's adoptive father were murdered by the same method or person. If the cases of their death would be reopened. I'm sure more evidence will point to Shiyang. Unless there's a plot twist.
I have given up on theories about Yunxi's background identity. It was probably added to make Hanyan realize that family isn't only by blood relative. No need for me to be delusional anymore.
Well, as for the romance, I learned long ago not, to have high expectations on them. Revenge is the first priority. Romance will come later, if everything is settled. That's the motto for our leads. Their romance might be different based on their characters. I'm okay with that. I understand why they got attracted to the other or how suited they are for each other. It makes their romance dynamic realistic to me. Some dramas make character fall in love with each other without understanding why or why those characters are suited for each other despite the chemistry being the best.
I'm still watching because I'm attached to the leads characters or their earlier episodes. I like their relationship dynamic. I want to see how it'll end. After this ends I'll probably re-watch the old episodes. There were notable scenes to remember.
I know I shouldnt feel bad for the evil step-mother, if you can even call her that...But her oldest daughter died…
Her daughter didn't betray her. She used what she taught her. It's her manipulation that led to her daughter picking the fathers side. Who teaches their children such things!? I believe, this is what she deserved for all the pain that Hanyan went through with those barefoot ghost story curse.
She was advised to leave but she didn't. She sacrificed her only child for a title. I can't feel sorry for her.
I LOVE the angst between the characters. idk why ppl are complaining over the “romance” or her being “too…
Yunxi has manipulated her... Hanyan too has manipulated him using her feminine side or gamble on his affection for her. The problem here. Well, for me, is that she made a hasty decision and forgot that they have the same enemy. They need to focus on that instead of fighting each other. She can get back at him after they defeat Shiyang there's a lot of time for that. I'm also frustrated by how she goes to her father and stepmoms mansion to brag about what she accomplished without waiting for the end result. it's not the first time she has done this.
This FL character has grown so arrogant that it has made her stupid. She is so consumed with hatred that heck…
she has always been reckless. This is not something new. Her hasty decisions have consequences. Clearly, she isn't thinking. Her decisions are based on her emotions or feelings. What I don't like how she reveals her intention to her father. Like seriously, why did she go there and say that? she knows how a mastermind, her father is. Yet she tipped him to make a backup plan.
Our leads are the same in nature. They like each other but won't admit or trust each other. When the other one warms up. The other one ruins the progress. I can say I blame the environment they are in "trust no one"
I'm concerned when it comes to schemes Yunxi calculates his plots into long-term unlike Hanyan who plans hers as short-term plots which are reckless. The only thing that I hope, it doesn't happen is that they'll probably make the people. they helped previous episodes assist them when there's an issue. To make it seem like Hanyan's approach was smarter. Since it's females centered. Let me be proven wrong!
The third part seems like they are pushing women empowerment which I understand but feels like it's a new story I'm watching. Everything seems strange.
i don't think this is part of the plot but I'm curious who are Yunxi's biological parents. I'm curious how the marriage pact was done, what is he suffering from? (to me, he looks fine and healthy since they don't show him coughing blood again!) where are the side effects? how did his father die! is he taking medicine since he can fight??
Where is the plot going with consort miao? I'm a bit slow or confused. what happened to the eunuch part. is it over? I thought by now they would guess where the adopted son has hidden the wealth 🙈 the 3rd part feels like I'm watching a new storyline minus the revenge and plot twists.
I would've loved to see a little bit of court issues even it it's 5 minutes then hear about Emperors decisions or courts disapprovals.
I'm still enjoying the drama... I can't wait for new episodes today to see what's going to happen.
i dont understand people obsessing with the romance— i mean, did they even watch the drama? look at hanyan’s…
I'm more interested in this type of romance especially dramas like this. There's few I watched where the leads characters don't change after marriage and their reactions are realistic in the real world. Haha, haha, that's why I never get angry much towards the leads since I understand their reasoning makes sense.

Majority are complaining about romance...as much as I like romance after the dramas I've watched I needed a drama that has less romance. Sometimes, romance ruins the dramas. I got annoyed with many dramas that were interesting but romance was heavily emphasized. They lost track of the characters and plot.
I also feel the same. Maybe, people are panicking due to the few episodes left. They don't want to sympathize with Hanyan's pain after the events that transpired. Her acting this way is fine.
I don't get why many people are mad at Hanyan. Did we forgot what happened before she got married? It would be weird for her to start romancing the male lead and be happy after she lost her mother then accused for killing Yuchi which she didn't do. I understand her part of being emotionally distant. After all the bad things that has happened to her. She lost everyone even her closest friend left her.
One of the highlights I liked on Episode 20 - how Hanyan was watching Yunxi's interacting with his daughter in front of her. You can see her yearning for that type of affection with her family or loved like that when she was young. All that it's illusion now. On the good side, she could see Yunxi's soft side without scheming.
The downside, I do wish they showed us their wedding ceremony a bit longer 🤣🤣 it would've made me not, mind the aunt filler scenes.
Still, I like this couple has their own dynamic of "romance" not all romance needs to be the same.
If you are willing to watch a drama never come to MDl for review coz you will be very disappointed
Especially if the people who come here are easily influenced. As for me, I still love this drama. I don't really care about romance. I knew how my leads are like. They don't need romance to show their feelings. You can clearly see their actions.
I'm concerned because of the way she acts based on emotions or easily distrusts Yunxi. I hope as the synopsis…
I feel like he still wary of Hanyan rather say fully trust her with his secrets. We don't know his real background family. There's progress in their relationship since Yunxi shared something with Hanyan a secrets not many knows. His slowly trusting her. I don't blame him with how she acted or him surviving six attempts to claim his life. its probably him not giving away everything like very hard to read his face.
