I'm one of the the people who stay away from those tropes where a character has a child with someone else. Here, I'm hooked and don't mind it despite going against my personal preference. That's how good the storyline is.

people want the male lead and female lead to be each other's first love and have a fairy-tale love story. We still don't know the story of the male lead and his family. We don't know many stuff.

It's their fate to be together it got ruined by someone. It's one of those "right place, wrong time" it reminds me of Yuwen and Xiwen it's the same thing happening again with Hanyan and Yunxi.

Thank for you for noticing that the male lead here isn't dramatized. He is normal. For me, he feels relatable that they didn't fully emphasis on his commanding aura or looks to stand out. I like this change of approach of this kind of type of male lead. It's rare we see such approach. I kinda like his character is still mysterious.

It's good they did. I enjoy that there's no over top filter or make up. It gives me old drama feels.

anyone notice how the drama used less makeup not over the top to enhance the looks of the actors? It feels good to watch a drama where the looks aren't enhanced.

after watching today's episodes I understand why, as time goes on... Their arrangement will transition to romance. At the moment, there's little interest in the female, he has a task to find a good scheming woman to look after his child and family. For now,
he is using the female lead as a shield to gather information about that family. He is suspicious of their involvement with the case. He also sees her potential and trying to help her become smarter to survive in that family. The family has many secrets the female lead doesn't know.

I don't think the plot is off. His been there for few days. It doesn't take long to guess. The location there doesn't have many places where something can be hidden. She just accepted because he was basically saying he'll report it. She had no choice but to accept it. In the beginning, she acted like she didn't know what it is. Our girl is a survivor. She isn't perfect at schemes stuff that's the point behind her reaction. It shows us that she is going to learn how to be good scheme and not give herself away with facial expressions.

I don't see this as bad writing. If you look at it that way that's when you think it doesn't add up.

I feel the same way too. Something about Song Yan arc is not connecting with the drama for me. It feels forced. Dunno, if it's the actor's acting. There's another episode where Song Mo went to stop bandits I expected them to show us some action but we didn't get any. They are focusing way too much on family drama, romance and side characters than the leads progress. In the first part, they were balancing everything now it's no longer the same.

Lol, the drama is the Long Ballad of the birds kissing. I don't mind no skinship as long as there's desire in the acting 😂😂 I don't understand the censorship since in other short dramas have passion scenes...

I have not read the book. I pity Ansu in all this. I hope this song family chapter closes soon because I want to see Dou's uncle get his karma.
