OMG!!! My head is spinning from episode 12. WTH, the husband...wow! And the aide is right behind him with the crazy. I want to know what the bestie that lives with them knows. She is selling off her restaurant and getting out of there. What is up?
Ok, here we go...episodes 25 and 26 only 4 more episodes left...thank the Lord.
We left off with Song taking Shen Miao, her son and the maid all to an "undisclosed location" but is anything really undisclosed? You guess it, it isn't. Pei is ticked off that Song took his "ex-wife" and son, so he goes to Song's restaurant and has all his military at the place saying he wants to see Song.
The new girl that Song hired is playing the zither for like the umpteenth time. Until Pei says he is waiting no longer. He tells his one guard that he knows the location (get this) based off how long it took her to play the zither and he then calculated how long it would take Song to get there. Say what? Ok Mr. Clairvoyant. How about you didn't see all the drama you would cause lying all the time. Ok, ok, I digressed.
Song is then told by the new girl that Pei waited a long time, but he is gone. Song figures out that Pei knows where Shen Miao and his son are. Meanwhile Pei and team are scouring the temple. Now, Pei remember, he is blind. How is it that he is roaming the temple looking for Shen Miao and her son with no one with him? Lo and behold Shen Miao sees him coming (cane taps helped) and she tries to leave only to fall and Xiao yell. Pei hears and tells her to stop. He says more words of "please don't go...blah, blah, blah."
Shen Miao takes her son back to her room and tells him to stay there while she goes to find the maid. She comes across Pei kneeling in front of the temple talking to the monk and saying he doesn't want anything anymore. He only wants Shen Miao to be happy because he is letting her go. Here we go again...he is letting her go? Yeah right!
One of the monks calls her name and she tells him to be quiet only to take off running with Pei in hot pursuit. Now, if she is trying to get away then why are you at the mountain? Why didn't you go and get Xiao, the maid and just take off? No, she takes the mountain trail. But Pei keeps calling her name and she tells him to just leave her alone. Then the moment...the lightning strikes the lone tree at the top of the mountain, and it comes crashing down on Pei.
Shen Miao runs over pulling the tree off of Pia. He tells her he knew she cared and passed out. She is crying profusely and who comes now...his guard. Ok, who would even think to go to the mountain and find these two? So, he hoists Pei on his back, and they go back to his room.
Now after being hit by the tree, he now is able to see images, blurry of course but he can see. Shen Miao is taking care of him. He finally after 25 episodes (2 years) he can at last tell her his side of the story. But do you think he really will...nope! He gives her the rundown on why he did things to protect her, his son and even her family only for her to come back at him and ask..."did you say you were going to annihilate my family?" Images of the bird came in my head when he said he was going to annihilate the Shen family. Oh, she is still believing that stupid bird! To which he says yes! Not letting him explain what he meant by that. Well, all the cards are off the table now. She heard that and rants at him and just keeps going on until she storms out.
Here comes Song with his antagonistic ways to get Shen Miao all riled up again about Pei's character. Pei shares with Shen Miao a picture of her family and the letters that her family sent because he had guards protecting them all this time. He tells her he will help her get them back only for her to say that her and Song have their own plan.
They all then head to the capital with Pei taking his own carriage. Song and Shen Miao together and Xiao and the maid in another. They finally make it to a place to rest with Pei really using his blindness to get Shen Miao to help him. This makes Song mad, and he is trying to find a way to bring Shen Miao closer to him.
Meanwhile the emperor is MIA. He is chilling somewhere we don't know because the Ninth princess went to see him. Only to find out that her hand has been asked in marriage by the prince where Shen Miao's family is at.
Basically, there was not much action. Shen Miao is really on my nerves because she is just so wishy washy. Her and the maid did have a discussion because she is trying to figure out which guard, she likes better because they both have certain characteristics that she likes. Which made Shen Miao ask her how Pei was the 2 years she was with him. She told her again that everything may not appears as she sees it. Pei is a good person and people during the years had tried to kill him. She asks him how he got blind, and she told him that it was during the wedding, and he didn't get treated fast enough so it is uncurable. Which makes her feel guilty and she wants the monk to heal him.
Meanwhile Pei does see the monk who knows that Pei can see. Pei is going to continue to be this way because he wants to win Shen Mial back. Sorry, but this is going to make her mad again because he is scheming which she hates.
Now we have to wrap this up in 4 episodes, so we do know that Pei has his sight, she tries to kill him again and looks for a new wife/concubine.
I cannot say again how disappointed I am in this drama that had such potential.

Yes, looking at the preview for episode 13....I called it. I knew that the EK's ex-boyfriend was going to dish out some information to DB. I can't wait. This is going to be good..
Red balloon, red balloon...such craziness. Everyone is "dipping." Let the EK the puppet master keep pulling the strings for all because everything is going to hit the fan, sooner rather than later....
Let me be clear...Fan Zhi Xin can KISS!!!! The kisses throughout this entire drama will have every, I mean every, woman sighing. Episodes 12 and 16....whew! Especially episode 16 best interruption of an engagement ever. When Manning interrupted his engagement ceremony to tell him that he was hers and when she put the ring on him, that sealed the deal. He came after her and picked her up and kissed her and said, "How can you leave after that...I'm yours." I think I passed out. I watched that 4 times. Fan is the complete package of sinister, to protector, to lover, to child. His range of emotions, especially the episodes from 21 on really show it. You will just want to wrap your arms around him. His FL compliments him so well. They make a lovely couple.
At the beginning, he was a bully to her at first but when you see how loving he is moving forward...you forget all that.
The music at the beginning sets the tone and the action starts already in the first episode. With his Bond-like walk all that he needed to say, is "Shaken not stirred" and I would have been done. He just has the presence that captures your attention. Him and Vincenzo would make a good pair. Him with his ring and Vincenzo with his lighter. Now that would be something to behold.
The pacing, storyline and performances were on point.
I would love to see this couple together again, possibly My Lethal Man 2. Best drama by far this year.
I am now up to episode 24 and there are only 6 episodes left...thank the Lord! I mean the craziness in this drama is not stopping.
So, we left off with the bird...right? Well, they find Shen Miao and her son, and get this...she pretends to be mute! You heard me mute! She is now using Pei's hand to write messages on because she is saying she can't talk. (Roll eyes) Pei of course knows it's her. Pei and Xiao agree they will meet her the next day at his residence. Well, she finally comes and lo and behold the puppet show Xiao performs brings back...her memory!!!! She then looks at Pei and says, "Why can't you just let me go." Then she faints. Pei gets a doctor and tells him that he wants her to have something that will relieve her memories coming back because they were too painful. Well, you know Shen Miao's maid gets the medicine only for Shen Miao to wake up and throw it on the floor. She then threatens her and tells her, "I'm your master, who are you loyal too. " Of course, she says her. The two now devise a plan to get away from Pei. But not before she sends her maid to Song's place to get the letters he has been hiding about her family. She reads them and knows her family is doing well so she is going to leave with Xiao. She now feels that she cannot trust either Song or Pei. But of course, Song is now talking to assassins to get her out of the Pei residence. Shen Miao tells Xiao through a cookie (she put a note to cause a fire). Well, this fire was epic. Burn the whole place practically down.
There is one point where Shen Miao is in the courtyard and Pei comes out. And he does say that he wishes he would have never met her. It was just him regretting how things just went sideways. He is getting ready to go down the stairs and it really looks as if Shen Miao was going to push him until his guard intervene. She just smiled and walked away.
Pei is still thinking she doesn't have her memory because he asks her where she is taking Xiao. (Who by the way Xiao and the maid have gone down a rope and are waiting below for her). Here come the assassins to which Pei is fighting them off with his cane. Song comes and the assassins leap up and take Shen Miao. Then Song, Shen Miao and Xiao all leave. Pei is distraught.
Back at Songs place he tells Shen Miao to make herself presentable so she can see Xiao. Xiao now is the protector of his mother and won't let Song near her. Pei starts the search but can't find them.
Shen Miao...ok, you know I have to bring up the bird, right? I cannot believe she EVEN said this. My head wanted to explode. She told Song that the BIRD TOLD HER THE TRUTH ABOUT PEI! Say what? You believe a freakin' bird told you the truth about your life? I cannot!!! Then she asks Song if he sent her the bird for a reason...to which she got NO REPLY. Ya think?
But get this, Song is allowed to explain himself to her, but every time Pei did, she cut him off. He tells her that he never touched her that night of their wedding because he had promised her, he wouldn't. He knew ALL ALONG that Xiao was Pei's son. So, all of the unnecessary drama about "who was the daddy" was not warranted. Song created all of the drama! He now tells her that no matter what, he will always be HIS son and she will always be HIS wife. Ok, now who is being over the top obsessive.
Now, Shen Miao is planning on checking out with her, her son and the maid. Now, I gotta give it to the maid because she was trying to tell her that maybe she misunderstood Pei because she has been with him for 2 years and he is not the bad guy they are making him out to be. Well, she got the frosty look from Shen Miao and just shut up.
Moving on to the next remaining...thank goodness, 6 episodes we have the following: Pei goes to the temple and tells the monk that he only wants Shen Miao to be happy and he is just going to let her go. (Ok, that was a minute with that). Then I guess Shen Miao and Pei are leaving the temple at the same time via the mountain until lightning strikes the only lone tree on the mountain and falls on him. Shen Miao runs over, and he said he knew she still had feelings for him.
Song, Pei and Shen Miao all are together again in the capital and yes, he is still blind. But somewhere along the line he regains his sight and he and Shen Miao agree to a 3-month term of raising Xiao.
Ok, now here comes more of the crazy. The father dies (as I said before) with just a token that is laying on the murderer to which all fingers are pointing to...you guess it...Pei. Song then convinces Shen Miao that they need to KILL, yes KILL Pei because he will kill the rest of her family. Yep, she believes Song and they devise the scheme of telling him that they need to go to the temple and burn incense to get the marriage on track. Well, Song and his men chain up Pei and Song is ready to kill him when Shen Miao stops him.
How do we see happiness here? I got that answer for you. Pei has now said, "I'm done." Goes back to his residence and says he wants a concubine that will be willing to have his child, etc. Here comes Shen Miao vying to be one of those women. Now Pei is still saying I believe that he is married to her, but he is done and is getting someone else at this point. She of course wins the competition (they set it up because he still loves her and wants only her) When I saw her going to compete, I was thinking why? How many times did she say she want him to let her go yet here she is fighting to be with him? It is the most twisted relationship ever.
Then in the previews of the last episode Pei is laughing in his room as if he is with someone and Shen Miao is saying how she is his wife and she will not put up with that. Burst in only to see clothes littered on the floor and opens the curtains with him lying there alone.... she goes to leave, and he grabs her onto the bed and says, "Shen Miao, you are finally here."
I have no words for how I had such hope for this drama.... but they should not have stated that this is a fantastic love story. This is such a heart wrenching drama, again not the lighthearted drama I thought it would be....so sad with such great ML, FL, and SML

@Naija05, well he is shot, and they just "happen" to leave the token on the body. Come on, you know her "bird brain" is thinking it is Pei again because Song's man found it. She can't get any lamer. She doesn't think Song knows something. Do we think he took the token and gave it to someone not thinking they would kill the father? It isn't Pei because he was trying to help her family. If she would just listen and Pei would explain they could try to be a family again. How will this even be a happy ending?
Can I say how stressed out I am, but guess what? I'm still watching...go figure.
I cannot stand the SFL, just stop already. How many ways do you have to hear he doesn't want nor love you. It was all you. He even said from the beginning he was not 100% ready and you accepted it. Now, is she going to go to Daddy to now "buy" him for her? Urg!
The FL is driving me nuts. The nonstop "deer in headlights" look is driving me crazy. Her question with another question is too much. She seems to have no emotion at all. She to me is very tiresome. She herself should be tired of being the way she is. I don't believe she slept with Pil. It was just a way for her to shield ML from what she believes is the wrath of SFL family but also for him to give up on her, but not seeing that happening.
And lastly ML... clapping to see you grew a set and told gf bye! I am glad to see he is starting to take charge.

She saves Pei by using the devise that is around her arm to kill the assassin. Pei sees this and tells her that she really didn't love him and that she wanted him to die all along. To which she says that he wanted the whole Shen family gone too. Meanwhile, the Queen Dowager who has been hanging out in the mausoleum plotting her revenge. Sent someone to kill Shen Maio and Pei. She takes the dagger for Pei which is poison (of course). Song has her in his arms and carries her away after Pei sees her die (again).
Now, let us fast forward TWO years to find out that Pei is blind from the poison of the dagger. Say what? Shen Miao got the dagger not him. I guess the fumes came to him and blinded him. He now has Xiao and Shen Maio's maid with him.
The emperor is basically doing nothing but going to the ancestral place to pray. He to me is worthless. The father, we have heard nothing further only that he is at the border. But he hasn't even tried to come back to see what is going on with his family. I mean people have "supposedly died" and no word from him? No return to see what is going on. What happened to the seal? What about the businesses of the family? Who is running them?
Meanwhile Shen Miao, low and behold survives the poison of the dagger to which we were told there was NO WAY she would live...yeah right. She now believes she is the warrioress that protects people and has an agency. Song keeps telling her that she is married to him; but she doesn't believe it. I wonder why even not having a memory; she doesn't believe she is married to Song? Go figure.
Pei and his son travel to where Shen Miao is not knowing that she is there of course. Pei calls for service at the restaurant and no one comes. He attempts to go only to have Xiao say he would go and runs into...Shen Miao! He calls her mother several times and she is like I don't know you and her head starts hurting and runs away. She saves Pei from the politician sons who are ruffing him up. He hears her voice and knows it's her.
Xiao is beside himself after seeing his mother and he runs away. Pei starts searching for him. But Shen Miao has the bird start saying...Mother and Xiao and it flies away. She starts chasing the bird which leads her to Xiao. They are now spending time together.
Song freaks out because Shen Miao hasn't returned and believes that Pei took her. He goes to his residence and Pei basically says he can check but he doesn't have anything that belongs to him. He later is told they find her. She is walking drunkenly down the street and Song comes to her and says he won't let anything happen to her...
Now, again these stupid BIRDS are on my nerves. Song gets back the bird he sent to the Pei residence by bribing someone to get it out. Yep, you guessed it. The bird starts saying things to make her start thinking. This is the dumbest plot line ever. She based all of the misunderstandings before on a bird and here we go again with the bird. Enough already.
And Song...stop acting like you are the gift that keeps giving to save her because let me be clear, you are treating her the same way Pei did by keeping her at the residence and not letting her out. But you are far worse by keeping her identity away from her for TWO years and wait...HER SON TOO!!! What makes you think that you are any better in what you are doing?

Oh, let's not forget the princess. She had entailed too that she didn't bother to disclose to Shen Miao either. She is supposed to be her bestie, what happen to that? Then she knows her mother was plotting to kill Shen Miao and she still thinks her mother has been dissed for being in the mausoleum?
The upcoming episodes we have Shen Miao remember who she is and her life before. We have Pei regain his eyesight. They then agree to 3 months together as a family because Pei said it wasn't fair for him to lose him after it was just those two for two years. Finally, the dad is killed, and a token is left on his body pointing to you guess it...Pei! Song had something to do with this because she is with him when she got the news. Kinda of funny that the token is given then and do we really think Song had nothing to do or possibly know who did it?
My final thoughts. I am so disappointed in this drama. I really had high hopes. But I really cannot stand the fact that they made the FL look so weak. She cannot choose between two men to get a life. I get it she was 15 and all but she is grown now. Start making decisions. She has let both of these men lead her and she should just get rid of them both and raise her son. She has MONEY!!! Yes, let Pei visit him and Song too since he has helped with his raising, but this is just toxic at this point. Too many lies, deceit, backstabbing and mistrust have been what is going on. Can Pei and Shen Miao really find love at this point? I would hope for Pei and her to get back together but he has not been above board in telling her everything about who he really is.

The Wife...how many are watching this crazy drama? The insanity. Ok, now that I'm up to episode 15 (only 5 more to go) I now have all the players the wife has to get on her side to bring her husband down. We have Ornin and Lak. But we know he now has Nudee who is so bedazzled by him that she is telling him what is going on in the house. Let's be clear, if he would have been with any other woman, this man would have been gone by now...he even slept with the maid! Wait...and she still has her working for her!!! Really? Gurl bye! This wife is so beat down and going for all of his crap until I want to go and smack her to wake up. But now she is. Thank goodness. She is now going to use these two mistresses to bring him down. A good ally is Ornin's ex-husband who is trying to help. The sad part is her BEST friends are so lame and useless. Ornin I believe will help because she finally, finally heard her say that she wants a divorce and him saying he will NEVER divorce her. So, now she is starting to see what is up and found out that Lak is the other woman. I have to say Ornin is one crazy, unhinge girl. I mean she wants him something fierce. I can see her siding with Vi (just to get what she wants because that is always her end game...herself). She even tried to get help from her dad and he smacked her and said she wasn't going to divorce him. Now, after all the dad has been through with Root, he gets it. A little too late because he wasn't prepared for this crazy son-in-law. The board will not give her the job even if he retires. So, how will he get his daughter the job and beat Root? The question is even if she pulls these two in to help, I believe that Ornin will help just so that she can beat this other chick Lak. Didn't see her coming, I thought it was one of her other besties. Oh, and who is pregnant? Could it still be another one of her friends and not the two mistresses that we know about? If that is the case, Lord help Ornin who will try to take whoever it is down because that is her man. Honestly, what do they see in this guy? He is nice looking but dang, is he the only game in town. Ornin's ex-husband isn't bad looking but I know there are other men around do we really ladies, have to fight over this man? Bring him down and show how women do it!

Song is then told by the new girl that Pei waited a long time, but he is gone. Song figures out that Pei knows where Shen Miao and his son are. Meanwhile Pei and team are scouring the temple. Now, Pei remember, he is blind. How is it that he is roaming the temple looking for Shen Miao and her son with no one with him? Lo and behold Shen Miao sees him coming (cane taps helped) and she tries to leave only to fall and Xiao yell. Pei hears and tells her to stop. He says more words of "please don't go...blah, blah, blah."
Shen Miao takes her son back to her room and tells him to stay there while she goes to find the maid. She comes across Pei kneeling in front of the temple talking to the monk and saying he doesn't want anything anymore. He only wants Shen Miao to be happy because he is letting her go. Here we go again...he is letting her go? Yeah right!
One of the monks calls her name and she tells him to be quiet only to take off running with Pei in hot pursuit. Now, if she is trying to get away then why are you at the mountain? Why didn't you go and get Xiao, the maid and just take off? No, she takes the mountain trail. But Pei keeps calling her name and she tells him to just leave her alone. Then the moment...the lightning strikes the lone tree at the top of the mountain, and it comes crashing down on Pei.
Shen Miao runs over pulling the tree off of Pia. He tells her he knew she cared and passed out. She is crying profusely and who comes now...his guard. Ok, who would even think to go to the mountain and find these two? So, he hoists Pei on his back, and they go back to his room.
Now after being hit by the tree, he now is able to see images, blurry of course but he can see. Shen Miao is taking care of him. He finally after 25 episodes (2 years) he can at last tell her his side of the story. But do you think he really will...nope! He gives her the rundown on why he did things to protect her, his son and even her family only for her to come back at him and ask..."did you say you were going to annihilate my family?" Images of the bird came in my head when he said he was going to annihilate the Shen family. Oh, she is still believing that stupid bird! To which he says yes! Not letting him explain what he meant by that. Well, all the cards are off the table now. She heard that and rants at him and just keeps going on until she storms out.
Here comes Song with his antagonistic ways to get Shen Miao all riled up again about Pei's character. Pei shares with Shen Miao a picture of her family and the letters that her family sent because he had guards protecting them all this time. He tells her he will help her get them back only for her to say that her and Song have their own plan.
They all then head to the capital with Pei taking his own carriage. Song and Shen Miao together and Xiao and the maid in another. They finally make it to a place to rest with Pei really using his blindness to get Shen Miao to help him. This makes Song mad, and he is trying to find a way to bring Shen Miao closer to him.
Meanwhile the emperor is MIA. He is chilling somewhere we don't know because the Ninth princess went to see him. Only to find out that her hand has been asked in marriage by the prince where Shen Miao's family is at.
Basically, there was not much action. Shen Miao is really on my nerves because she is just so wishy washy. Her and the maid did have a discussion because she is trying to figure out which guard, she likes better because they both have certain characteristics that she likes. Which made Shen Miao ask her how Pei was the 2 years she was with him. She told her again that everything may not appears as she sees it. Pei is a good person and people during the years had tried to kill him. She asks him how he got blind, and she told him that it was during the wedding, and he didn't get treated fast enough so it is uncurable. Which makes her feel guilty and she wants the monk to heal him.
Meanwhile Pei does see the monk who knows that Pei can see. Pei is going to continue to be this way because he wants to win Shen Mial back. Sorry, but this is going to make her mad again because he is scheming which she hates.
Now we have to wrap this up in 4 episodes, so we do know that Pei has his sight, she tries to kill him again and looks for a new wife/concubine.
I cannot say again how disappointed I am in this drama that had such potential.

At the beginning, he was a bully to her at first but when you see how loving he is moving forward...you forget all that.
The music at the beginning sets the tone and the action starts already in the first episode. With his Bond-like walk all that he needed to say, is "Shaken not stirred" and I would have been done. He just has the presence that captures your attention. Him and Vincenzo would make a good pair. Him with his ring and Vincenzo with his lighter. Now that would be something to behold.
The pacing, storyline and performances were on point.
I would love to see this couple together again, possibly My Lethal Man 2. Best drama by far this year.
I am now up to episode 24 and there are only 6 episodes left...thank the Lord! I mean the craziness in this drama is not stopping.
So, we left off with the bird...right? Well, they find Shen Miao and her son, and get this...she pretends to be mute! You heard me mute! She is now using Pei's hand to write messages on because she is saying she can't talk. (Roll eyes) Pei of course knows it's her. Pei and Xiao agree they will meet her the next day at his residence. Well, she finally comes and lo and behold the puppet show Xiao performs brings back...her memory!!!! She then looks at Pei and says, "Why can't you just let me go." Then she faints. Pei gets a doctor and tells him that he wants her to have something that will relieve her memories coming back because they were too painful. Well, you know Shen Miao's maid gets the medicine only for Shen Miao to wake up and throw it on the floor. She then threatens her and tells her, "I'm your master, who are you loyal too. " Of course, she says her. The two now devise a plan to get away from Pei. But not before she sends her maid to Song's place to get the letters he has been hiding about her family. She reads them and knows her family is doing well so she is going to leave with Xiao. She now feels that she cannot trust either Song or Pei. But of course, Song is now talking to assassins to get her out of the Pei residence. Shen Miao tells Xiao through a cookie (she put a note to cause a fire). Well, this fire was epic. Burn the whole place practically down.
There is one point where Shen Miao is in the courtyard and Pei comes out. And he does say that he wishes he would have never met her. It was just him regretting how things just went sideways. He is getting ready to go down the stairs and it really looks as if Shen Miao was going to push him until his guard intervene. She just smiled and walked away.
Pei is still thinking she doesn't have her memory because he asks her where she is taking Xiao. (Who by the way Xiao and the maid have gone down a rope and are waiting below for her). Here come the assassins to which Pei is fighting them off with his cane. Song comes and the assassins leap up and take Shen Miao. Then Song, Shen Miao and Xiao all leave. Pei is distraught.
Back at Songs place he tells Shen Miao to make herself presentable so she can see Xiao. Xiao now is the protector of his mother and won't let Song near her. Pei starts the search but can't find them.
Shen Miao...ok, you know I have to bring up the bird, right? I cannot believe she EVEN said this. My head wanted to explode. She told Song that the BIRD TOLD HER THE TRUTH ABOUT PEI! Say what? You believe a freakin' bird told you the truth about your life? I cannot!!! Then she asks Song if he sent her the bird for a reason...to which she got NO REPLY. Ya think?
But get this, Song is allowed to explain himself to her, but every time Pei did, she cut him off. He tells her that he never touched her that night of their wedding because he had promised her, he wouldn't. He knew ALL ALONG that Xiao was Pei's son. So, all of the unnecessary drama about "who was the daddy" was not warranted. Song created all of the drama! He now tells her that no matter what, he will always be HIS son and she will always be HIS wife. Ok, now who is being over the top obsessive.
Now, Shen Miao is planning on checking out with her, her son and the maid. Now, I gotta give it to the maid because she was trying to tell her that maybe she misunderstood Pei because she has been with him for 2 years and he is not the bad guy they are making him out to be. Well, she got the frosty look from Shen Miao and just shut up.
Moving on to the next remaining...thank goodness, 6 episodes we have the following: Pei goes to the temple and tells the monk that he only wants Shen Miao to be happy and he is just going to let her go. (Ok, that was a minute with that). Then I guess Shen Miao and Pei are leaving the temple at the same time via the mountain until lightning strikes the only lone tree on the mountain and falls on him. Shen Miao runs over, and he said he knew she still had feelings for him.
Song, Pei and Shen Miao all are together again in the capital and yes, he is still blind. But somewhere along the line he regains his sight and he and Shen Miao agree to a 3-month term of raising Xiao.
Ok, now here comes more of the crazy. The father dies (as I said before) with just a token that is laying on the murderer to which all fingers are pointing to...you guess it...Pei. Song then convinces Shen Miao that they need to KILL, yes KILL Pei because he will kill the rest of her family. Yep, she believes Song and they devise the scheme of telling him that they need to go to the temple and burn incense to get the marriage on track. Well, Song and his men chain up Pei and Song is ready to kill him when Shen Miao stops him.
How do we see happiness here? I got that answer for you. Pei has now said, "I'm done." Goes back to his residence and says he wants a concubine that will be willing to have his child, etc. Here comes Shen Miao vying to be one of those women. Now Pei is still saying I believe that he is married to her, but he is done and is getting someone else at this point. She of course wins the competition (they set it up because he still loves her and wants only her) When I saw her going to compete, I was thinking why? How many times did she say she want him to let her go yet here she is fighting to be with him? It is the most twisted relationship ever.
Then in the previews of the last episode Pei is laughing in his room as if he is with someone and Shen Miao is saying how she is his wife and she will not put up with that. Burst in only to see clothes littered on the floor and opens the curtains with him lying there alone.... she goes to leave, and he grabs her onto the bed and says, "Shen Miao, you are finally here."
I have no words for how I had such hope for this drama.... but they should not have stated that this is a fantastic love story. This is such a heart wrenching drama, again not the lighthearted drama I thought it would be....so sad with such great ML, FL, and SML
I cannot stand the SFL, just stop already. How many ways do you have to hear he doesn't want nor love you. It was all you. He even said from the beginning he was not 100% ready and you accepted it. Now, is she going to go to Daddy to now "buy" him for her? Urg!
The FL is driving me nuts. The nonstop "deer in headlights" look is driving me crazy. Her question with another question is too much. She seems to have no emotion at all. She to me is very tiresome. She herself should be tired of being the way she is. I don't believe she slept with Pil. It was just a way for her to shield ML from what she believes is the wrath of SFL family but also for him to give up on her, but not seeing that happening.
And lastly ML... clapping to see you grew a set and told gf bye! I am glad to see he is starting to take charge.
Only 4 episodes left, and I can tell it is going to be a rollercoaster for sure!

She agrees to marry him only to find out that not only Song had come to take her away, but assassins are also there to kill Pei and her. She saves Pei by using the devise that is around her arm to kill the assassin. Pei sees this and tells her that she really didn't love him and that she wanted him to die all along. To which she says that he wanted the whole Shen family gone too. Meanwhile, the Queen Dowager who has been hanging out in the mausoleum plotting her revenge. Sent someone to kill Shen Maio and Pei. She takes the dagger for Pei which is poison (of course). Song has her in his arms and carries her away after Pei sees her die (again).
Now, let us fast forward TWO years to find out that Pei is blind from the poison of the dagger. Say what? Shen Miao got the dagger not him. I guess the fumes came to him and blinded him. He now has Xiao and Shen Maio's maid with him.
The emperor is basically doing nothing but going to the ancestral place to pray. He to me is worthless. The father, we have heard nothing further only that he is at the border. But he hasn't even tried to come back to see what is going on with his family. I mean people have "supposedly died" and no word from him? No return to see what is going on. What happened to the seal? What about the businesses of the family? Who is running them?
Meanwhile Shen Miao, low and behold survives the poison of the dagger to which we were told there was NO WAY she would live...yeah right. She now believes she is the warrioress that protects people and has an agency. Song keeps telling her that she is married to him; but she doesn't believe it. I wonder why even not having a memory; she doesn't believe she is married to Song? Go figure.
Pei and his son travel to where Shen Miao is not knowing that she is there of course. Pei calls for service at the restaurant and no one comes. He attempts to go only to have Xiao say he would go and runs into...Shen Miao! He calls her mother several times and she is like I don't know you and her head starts hurting and runs away. She saves Pei from the politician sons who are ruffing him up. He hears her voice and knows it's her.
Xiao is beside himself after seeing his mother and he runs away. Pei starts searching for him. But Shen Miao has the bird start saying...Mother and Xiao and it flies away. She starts chasing the bird which leads her to Xiao. They are now spending time together.
Song freaks out because Shen Miao hasn't returned and believes that Pei took her. He goes to his residence and Pei basically says he can check but he doesn't have anything that belongs to him. He later is told they find her. She is walking drunkenly down the street and Song comes to her and says he won't let anything happen to her...
Now, again these stupid BIRDS are on my nerves. Song gets back the bird he sent to the Pei residence by bribing someone to get it out. Yep, you guessed it. The bird starts saying things to make her start thinking. This is the dumbest plot line ever. She based all of the misunderstandings before on a bird and here we go again with the bird. Enough already.
And Song...stop acting like you are the gift that keeps giving to save her because let me be clear, you are treating her the same way Pei did by keeping her at the residence and not letting her out. But you are far worse by keeping her identity away from her for TWO years and wait...HER SON TOO!!! What makes you think that you are any better in what you are doing?
Yes, Pei was wrong in not telling her things that were going on, but he kept telling her that he would reveal everything once he came back from the capitol. He was a little too late.
Oh, let's not forget the princess. She had entailed too that she didn't bother to disclose to Shen Miao either. She is supposed to be her bestie, what happen to that? Then she knows her mother was plotting to kill Shen Miao and she still thinks her mother has been dissed for being in the mausoleum?
The upcoming episodes we have Shen Miao remember who she is and her life before. We have Pei regain his eyesight. They then agree to 3 months together as a family because Pei said it wasn't fair for him to lose him after it was just those two for two years. Finally, the dad is killed, and a token is left on his body pointing to you guess it...Pei! Song had something to do with this because she is with him when she got the news. Kinda of funny that the token is given then and do we really think Song had nothing to do or possibly know who did it?
My final thoughts. I am so disappointed in this drama. I really had high hopes. But I really cannot stand the fact that they made the FL look so weak. She cannot choose between two men to get a life. I get it she was 15 and all but she is grown now. Start making decisions. She has let both of these men lead her and she should just get rid of them both and raise her son. She has MONEY!!! Yes, let Pei visit him and Song too since he has helped with his raising, but this is just toxic at this point. Too many lies, deceit, backstabbing and mistrust have been what is going on. Can Pei and Shen Miao really find love at this point? I would hope for Pei and her to get back together but he has not been above board in telling her everything about who he really is.
