In high school, he used to think that his feelings were reciprocated but the sudden parting was a blow to him.…
Also, she is clearly easily spooked and easily cuts people off. If he rushes the relationship, even if she likes he, he knows she might just abandon him like she did before. He is towing the line of "better to be friendzoned than to be abandoned".
I don’t understand how the character Sang Yan was written ?! He’s is way so greener. I mean there will never…
Even as a friend in Hidden Love, he was unreal. He had so much love and empathy for Duan Jiaxu; his love, protectiveness and maturity towards his sister was also endearing. The end scene in HL, he looked so happy for the two of them🥹; I had been anxiously waiting for his story and it hasn't disappointed me😊
idk this Mu cheng yun is kind of annoying me atp... he is like keep on pesturing her continuously when she is…
It would drive me up the wall, if the other intern is actually the one stirring up trouble because of his obnoxious ass. A pest and a psycho, HR need to review their hiring policy!!
Like the "love rivals" are so obnoxious: Xiang Liang and Mu Cheng Yun are the worse😳. Sang Yan has less than zero competition. Their presence literally pushes her to recognise Sang Yan's goodness.
Sometimes I wonder if the viewers are watching with one eye closed. Her father died, her mother abandoned her…
Everyone "suffers" in relationships. Whether your partner is perfect, traumatised or conceited. Your "suffering" is entirely dependent on whether you love the person enough to relish living your life along side them whatever is going on. Su Haonfor example is a perfectly well adjusted easy going rich and handsome guy but his ex considered being with him "suffering". Su Zai zai from WIFTY was dating the traumatised and depressed, Zhang Lu An but was chirpy about his existence. Relationships are always hard, effort and consideration for the other person is what decides whether it's "suffering" or not.

In episodes 4-5; they say "Bai yue liang" and it's translated as "romantic interest" here but usually that word is translated as "white moonlight". For an uninformed International audience "white moonlight" has no meaning but "romantic interest" is straightforward, however it lacks the full meaning of what they are actually saying.
In the novel, Wen Yifan was referred as white moonlight. Is it the same here because it translates to Romantic…
Romantic interest is not a bad translation but white moonlight is more like a major or unforgettable love interest; usually someone from the past that you can't get over or a secret crush that makes it impossible to be committed in new relationships. So the translation as "romantic interest" is correct but not complete!
Confession (and pls don't hate), I dropped Hidden Love because I found it cringey, which is my most common issue…
HL's Sang Yan is the goofy self-absorbed over protective big brother from Sang Zhi's POV. Naturally in his own story he is as cool and as sauve as he described himself to her, which made his sister roll her eyes. As someone who loves adaptations and seeing different actors interprete the same role, I'm enjoying watching a different version of the same character. Sang Yan has the same cool guy with nervous energy persona in both versions: HL focused more on the nervous energy while TFF is more on the cool guy persona. It's also endearing to see how attentive he is to the broken winged Wang Yifan and imagine how he felt noticing similar signs in Duan Jiaxu during his college years, which is probably helping him better handle his relationship than he did in high school
Wang Yifan is the introverted high school heart-throb that is masking depression archetype. Like a female version of Jiang Chen (A love so beautiful) and Zhou Yi Ran (When I fly towards you)- the school (and everyone around them) have decided their personality and try to force them into the mould. JC and ZYR have the good luck of being boys so they can brush off the unwaned attention by being "cold and handsome" but WYF is painted as a bit*h and a snob and has to face sexual violence for it. Unlike JC and ZYR whose love interest was able to bravely and shamelessly pursue them and include them into a large friend group to reaffirm to them that their lives had intrinsic value more than their outward appearance and rumour created reputations. Sang Yan wasn't as brave and didn't integrate their friend groups to create a wider space for Wang Yifan to "blossom"!. Wang Yifan was also not brave enough to hold onto the lifeline that Sang Yan threw at her.
