I think if they excluded 2 or 3 scenes of violence against Yang Xian, the 5th CP could have been the best. Yang Xian got beat way too much. He had an abusive upbringing, he lost his title and his in-laws "abandoned" him but that wasn't enough he got beat up on his wedding night, his leg was broken, lynched by his brother-in-laws, whipped by his father, stabbed and lived a violent and uncertain life at sea. If Leshan had experienced an equal heroes journey it would have made it worth it but having her beat him up again at their 2nd wedding just shoved her back to ground zero for me.
The 1st CP was also dragged down by too much "cruelty" by DYX against Shouhua.
I found it quite distasteful that she still attacked him after kidnapping. And everyone laughed like bullying him should be the order of the day🤷♀️. He's grown and responsibilities, a successful business owner; he deserved more dignity but I guess it's all's well that ends well.

FH used her eldest sister's reputation of virtuous talented woman to get married; the expectation would be that she has a similar temperament. Her "failing" marriage was a threat to the other sisters' weddings because she now had a bad reputation of being a "shrew". The mother's idea to find a manageable man for LS and FH is good but LS is more of a handful and alot more beautiful than FH. Without the strength of a powerful husband and even in-laws, the troubles she frequently starts would kill her very quickly. The mother chose easy to handle men for Fuhui and Leshan because they have the most fiery tempers. But if you consider what Fu Liang Han put 2nd sister through you would know that in such a highly patriarchal society a weak-minded husband is the worst thing you can have. If her family didn't come to help her temper her emotions FH could have died of depression and anger or committed bloody murder. And I don't think Leshan could hold out as long as FH; one wrong look from her in-laws, neighbours or woe betide him, her husband and she would raise hell.
