I finished this like two days ago and I have honestly forgotten almost anything that happens, so I'm going to lower my rating from an 8.5 to 8.0. I was somewhat disappointed with the story after it ended even though I enjoyed it while I was watching. Wang Churan is just so beautiful and graceful and Zhang Wan Yi was surprisingly quite the comedic actor. As the main couple, their relationship lacked realistic problems. In fact their relationship and characters just felt unreal. Mian Tang was every woman and she could do no wrong and knew no limits. Cui Jui was perfectly adjusted gentleman come what may except when he was a pathological liar (which I love about him🤷). Because they were perfect and invincible the conflicts seem contrived and thus boring. I liked the 2nd lead couple and was happy to see them connect even though it feels a little insufficient; It was alot more than the actor (Chang Hua Sen)'s Li Tong Guang from A Journey to Love got with almost a similar cp pairing achetype. So I'm appeased.
It was fine but it plays out like a "Much ado about nothin'" plot.
I enjoyed the most with the main couple on screen. Nice to see how they support each other. First time watching…
I'm a fan of his and I'm seriously considering rewatching The Romance Of Tiger And Rose. It's low budget but wonderful. His character there is like Shen Du Lite 🤭😅
No other show has given me the liberty to absolutely freely hate a character like The Double’s Shen Yu Rong. I see his humanity and I empathise with his struggles but I clearly and soberly HATE him. He is the absolute worse. There is no redeeming quality and his continued existence would have continued to wreck damage on all the lives he came in contact with. He was written well, portrayed well and presented well and I had such a cathartic experience hating him😅. I need an edit of Shen Yu Rong being the worse, so I can look at it everytime I want to get angry😂
So officially we can say 2 of the 5 charges against the Shen's have been solved, right? Can anyone remember what the charges are again? They just solved the grains one, although he didn't shoot the arrow. He marked the occasion with another type of...🤭🤭🤭
😑 Let's trace it from the very beginning. He was one of the final suspects of the initial "Lai assassination". He follows Yan Xing and attached himself to the Yan household that was about to marry into the Shen household. I can't remember the middle parts but he shows up magically and goes along with them to Yinzhou and he's leading the carriage on their way back when they suffer a suprise attack. 😑😑😑😑 SUSPICIOUS
No it's quite interesting. Although there are filler episodes and plotlines and you might find yourself wanting to skip or watch x2; but it's a complicated story so you'll regret doing that.
Episode 30 is really good. It's affirming my enjoyment of this drama. The CP is CPing, the story moved along, the villians laid their traps and we got a Shen Du fight scene😍
There are two complete bath scenes in the series, isn't that enough?
The bath scenes versus daily cleansing implies they don't bath daily but at special occasions. Is that what is happening? I've honestly been wondering what cleansing customs are being portrayed!
This is understandable and no need to portray because if it’s like this we don’t see them go to washroom and…
They made a joke about it too. So I know they know, she isn't washing her hands. She had just examined a corpse and Shen Du asked her to cook for him and she showed him her "just examined a corpse" hands and said "are you sure you want me to cook with these hands?"
They belong to a cult that follows a crazed dogma. I am not surprised they lost their mind after being caugh.
After Gov. Mo confessed I understood what they were going for. Being a brainwashed cult members it's natural for their mental health to be so fragile. But it just doesn't feel possible that they all have almost the same mindset when they are so far away from each other. Brainwashing involves repeated treatment usually in an isolated location. If the characters originated from a single place and spread out or disappeared for sometime and showed up again brainwashed I could gel with it but that with a few words after losing a loved one they become serial killers and go crazy exactly after they are caught. 😏
I'm nitpicking! I know! I'm honestly somewhat ruining the drama for myself by being this picky but🤷 here I am.

Like they specifically show them wake up. If they just show them already on their way to work, it would be a non-issue but they specifically show them go to bed and wake up without changing or cleaning up. It's just very weird.

They jump out of bed and head out! If they changed clothes I would deduce some cleansing had occured but they just wake up and go to work. It's disturbing!!
Ding Yu Xi is doing such a wonderful job with Shen Du. It's such a real character. He takes Shen Du from domineering to intimidating to humble to scared to jealous to vulnerable, so easily. The switch is just done so impeccably. I'm thoroughly impressed.
The lack of proper hygiene on this show is really bothering me. They sleep in their day clothes, wake up, don't bathe or wash up or change clothes before heading out. No one washes up after examining corpses.... Please PDnim have them wash their hands atleast🙏🙏🙏
