I haven’t seen the last two episodes yet, but from what I’m reading 13 is happy and 14 is sad. Should I watch…
Wat h 13 and leave it at that 😆, the spoilers are enough to see what 14 is all about. In hindsight you could see the latter half of 14, but that couple broke up in the interlude the program was filmed and now
Season 2 taking revenge by dropping another (rekindled) couple being SM and HJ who recently announced they have been dating for 40 days now. They were formed as a couple last season but didn't work out long after, but now rekindled and decided to become a couple again :)
Season 3 updates: confirmed still in relation SM x JS (instagram) semi-confirmed not to be dating anymore MS x MG (poem, but still friendly terms) still besties Hwi - SJ (not romantic, but good friends)
lots of hate for HM in instagram, remember these are real people and even if you disagree on certain aspects (the break-up really was not something audience would love to see after the previous episode), they do deserve to not be stalked with malicious comments
Episode 13: expected results with the couples forming. For now JS x SM still happy together. Also happy nice overall feelings.
Episode 14: harsh reality lolz, HM x YJ was a quick graveyard sadly (2-3 weeks after filming ended?)I am actually surprised they included a breaking up scene, I would think such things are more private :/... I suppose he was always kinda conflicted about being pushed into his coupling up with YJ, but still it felt like he did want to give it a chance. From the indirect snippets we got tho, it seems like their contact was not that great after the final date, but it was clear YJ was not expecting it... kinda sad he even brought flowers for HM on the date ... but we must respect the choices they make.
Also weird they did not include everyone as a final follow-up. Like a break-up scene was ok, but the lasting couple is not showed, as were Hwi and SJ who did not end up with anyone.
If these people know how to play this game well, we could have all couples even if there won't be any long-lasting…
Actually there have been 2 rumours circling for each of the can be surviving couples, being:
Hwi x SJ (trip in which a photo of Hwi highlights fashion style of SJ) and suggestive actions at least that Hwi had taken the trip with a plausible bf at that current time
HM x YJ spotted together at a fashion event, but no conclusive evidence
The others have already no hope for MG and SM having non-contestant bf's since the series concluded (for which JS and MS also are afflicted)
The couples will only be revealed next friday in the last 2 episodes. 1 being the last day, the other being the ending result. Like last season they will let the boys who coupled up meet in real life at the end of the show to see if they matched or not. The rest might end up together at a location, or just get a notification (yet unclear how).
Whew! His Man 3 was intense today! So many crybabies 😄The makers really need to make it more than 6 nights…
I think sleeping and seeing your ex half naked in front of you all the time that week is bound to affect you in some ways xD! But on a more serious note, I think YJ made it on multiple levels clear he was not interested in MG anymore to rekindle their whatever it was. MG also was clearly obvious he was hoping they could rekindle again, but after the talks also accepted it was not going to happen.
At this point it is clear by all, even MS, that MG still has feelings left for YJ, but he accepts that fact and hopes to win MG for himself by being there. I do think there is an option for them not ending up together because of this, but we will see in the final eps. In real life we already knows they did not make it.
For HM and YJ, it is quite clear by his actions, gestures and words YJ likes HM quite a lot already. HM tho is less physical on camera to show it really, but his actions and words make it clear he is also interested in YJ. This happened on multiple occasions actually where he talked clear in the anonymous chat that for his date, YJ was his nr 1 choice, there are not really many guys he was interested in to date during the show (in his conversation with SM), was during the fights with the exes there to defend and explain to the rest the stance of YJ, his calls have always been towards YJ and the fact they always seek each other out.
The only thing he might have referred to and 'regrets' to some level was his attention purely being focused on YJ, and not getting to know some of the others guys better (like SJ). But outside the show we have yet to see what it lead up to. From rumours that spread YJxHM and HwixSJ are the only ones able to have lead to something in real life outside the show.
In retrospect: the casting did a good job (despite the issues with the exes) for this season. In theory all members could end up with someone they choose to get to know better in real life. I think that alone is quite rare.
Also the reason why many felt this season left the boys not like last season in one campfire kumbaya moments, we have to remember that unlike other seasons, this season saw many couple up during the episodes so naturaly they spend time together to get to know each other more. Last season saw more bonds strenghten with all the rejections (kinda like how SJ and Hwi now got so close).
Battle of the rumours that were dropped at the start of the episodes:
will the poster for his man season 3 explain the surprising formation of a couple that was not foreshadowed (SJxHwi) and still might be together.
The possibility of HM and YJ dating or having dated for a time in rl (might have ended, but still plausible to currently being together).
If MK couples up, it will not last being he was rumoured to having a non-contestant bf at the time.

Also in reference, it was mentioned multiple times before that budget is also an issue for the show of 'His man' to get each time, so they are quite limited with what they can do.
As for Netflix's 'The boyfriend', well they have a lot of money they can spend, so the format can be quite different.
A mix of the two shows is the best, I believe positive sides of 'The Boyfriend' are the length of living together (1 month) and doing something besides the dating (coffee truck), but there have been limitations on focus of dating solely.
Positive sides of 'His man' is having more dates and also more playfulness to the show in general from the production side of things.
For the hosts, I do love it to give comical relief and some feedback lolz.

Yeah 14 at least, there are '3 days' left of content, so the next 2 episodes will be about the mailbox date and plausible final dates still, another 2 for making it final and choosing end partners.
Sad to see popularity votes take so much these days, that even talented (for instance one of the best vocals and dancers) can´t seem to debut albeit being praised for their talents by the other contestants and judges.
As pointed out for Min Jae, despite always winning his battles and gaining the bonus, the public never could indicate how his official ranking was, being heavily influenced by those weird bonus stats that can make you drop or rise drastically. Near mid half episodes with audience votes tho, you could see he placed mid tier around 4th place overall in his team, so in essence when in the last episode you get popularity votes without bonus, sad to say suddenly he was eliminated at once without a proper chance. Biggest shock for everyone I believe, I hope he gets another chance somewhere else...
Also unfair to place importance on top 9 whole show, to just end up with top 7 to debut.
Overall start was promising, but mid tier episodes started to fail and the ending just was horribly cut short. Guess popularity wins over talent these days
I wonder if the production company did a survey prior to the show with the contestants to ask which type of date they would have liked? Since the diversity also complements with what certain contestants wanted to do.
I also find it logical for this kind of show to evolve more and like invent certain new stuff to make changes like anonymous questions, secret missions/rewards etc...
Objectively this season holds also the plausible outcome for the most couples so far (currently 2 couples out of each season before, now maybe 3 to 4 could end up choosing one another). So sadly this season gets such a divided negative response overall.
Only downside was the casting of 2 exes, which on a dramatic way and negative plublicity did more than enough work out, but gave a very divided public annoyance overall sadly (I do need to put disclaimer is does seem they are not really exes tho, more ex-dates, but still not that preferably for overall tension).

I think that mostly has to do also with the fact rumours spread from the beginning that MG already has a bf now in rl, so they do not last if they happen to couple up.
In some sens, the most healing part of the show, was letting the exes (or MK) find the closure they needed to start afresh :). Even if MK was still having feelings for YJ, since it was his first love in a way, I guess it is understandably hard seeing the man he loved not being in love anymore.
On a personal level tho, I believe they do had some communication problems which would not have helped either way :/.
Also Hanmin being real like I want to learn new people on dates, but since I am interested in someone already, and besides making everything complex, he subconciously only focusses on YJ :p
While I think a lot of things are nice to the show, it just struck me they filmed a month, but only give 10 episodes worth of material to us! In the Korean equivalent "His Man", they film a week for around +10 episodes. We should have gotten like 20 episodes from here xD!
Seeing I am more interested to know more about Kazuto, I do hope he gets more time later on. Might be something to do with his work, maybe they agreed upon being a few weeks available in the whole month and we see Kazuto more later on. With a month of filming, it is hard to be free the whole month, especially with Japan!
I do hope contestants get screened enough to know they are really searching for a relationship! Some are giving just 'player' and 'attention' vibes. While that might spice things up, I do hope the essence of the program is dating (but I do applaud giving the boys a project to work upon).
Sidenote: in other countries participants are high profile (like influencers, wannabe actors or models etc), do we know except Usak if anyone is like that?

Now it is mostly 2 camps fighting one another for who is the 'right one' in the 'relationship' between the exes... Kinda like the time with team Werewolf vs Team Vampire lolz.
From the snippets they told us about the 'relationship', we can hardly judge. We don't know what really happened just by hearing what happened after 3 years back unilateral. Every story has two sides, and while some things might hold truth to it, context is often biased in telling a story later on.
On a more positive side, focusing on the essence of the show, the dating! I believe 2 couples will likely form and come out of it. While one will be with SM and X (Hwi or JS probably), from rumours talking this will be likely not a lasting relationship. I personaly do not see a relationship working with SM so far between either Hwi or JS.
I am however mostly interested in what will happen between Hanmin and JY! I believe they do balance eachother out and have mutual interests to build on. If the ex-drama was not present this season, they would be the nr1 topic people were rooting for to see where it would go as they are so lovey-dovey.
Also I think next week might be the 'date someone you haven't dated before' prelude. Might explain why Hwi was happy (SM could not date either Hwi or JS for that matter, giving Hwi some joy), and would explain why (from teaser people guessed it probably right) that YJ and JS will likely end up on a date to an amusement park (?, boat scene in trailer), so who knows Hanmin might take SJ on the offer to date as well xD. We also saw the exes again together, meaning MG will likely ask YJ out as well in some way (?), hopefully to bring a final closure.
If they have 14 episodes like last season, we can expect around 3 dates to happen still. Phonecalls will likely resume and this will mean we will get another Hanmin x YJ date in the near future hopefully :D!
