The main plot line is a bit draggy and the main couple is rather boring but in comparison it’s no worse than some of the pretty-boy dramas rated 8+ The 2nd couple are having a secret affair which is already ongoing as the drama starts. It ends badly when power becomes more important than love, so no HE. They both have quite a bit of screen time as their plotting is driving the story and Jeremy absolutely nails the obsessed character. You can find some short clips of it on U-tube. Just check them out to see if you like it.
Right now, there’s nothin so I’m rewatching again😂😂 The legend of zhouzhua is pretty good.. You can…
It was long... but yeah, it was good but could have benefited from a bit of "trimming". Don't get your hopes up for seeing much of LYN, his role is interesting but hasn't a lot of screentime. Most of it is towards the end of the drama.
Welp. Now what. I just finished it and nothing I watch next is gonna top this, in terms of possessive dark ML's.…
Try Legend of Dugu - Jeremy Tsui isn't the ML but definitely obsessed with his love interest (and evil). He kind of stole the show from the main characters in this one.
Another Blood 🩸 Wedding scenes in SLY 👀? 3 days filming wt zero degrees temperature 🥶 Xixi is afraid…
He's afraid of the cold? Then why doesn't he wear more clothes and a scarf? I always see him wearing open jackets and these thin shirts going into make-up... It makes me feel cold just watching it.
Fang Yilun (Alen Fang) was spotted in makeup, silver crown with silver dangling bits and purple ribbon. His eyebrows…
Great! I was quite impressed with him in AJTL, that role suited him very well. Hopefully, next Jeremy Tsui makes an appearance... I'm curious to see what his role will be like.
Okay, This aired in China already. Not internationally. They replaced the FL. I have no idea if they will air…
This most definitely hasn't aired yet (even though there have been recent rumours that it might suddenly drop). You have to be careful with stuff on U-tube as people sometimes post old trash under the title of a popular new drama to bait viewers.
Synopsis according to Douban: The story tells the story of Zhao Fengpan, a dandy prince who suffers from agesia, and Cheng Biyuan, a tricky cook who runs a stinky tofu stall. The two went from quarreling enemies to sweet lovers who know each other well. In the game, the conspiracy of the court was eliminated, and a lively and delicious relationship was created.

Well, I think this description of Douban belongs to history. Nowadays you have armies of fans (and anti-fans) who artificially inflate (or deflate) the rating of some dramas both here on MDL and on Douban to support their idols regardless of quality of production/acting. Sadly, this turns the rating more and more into a meaningless number. That being said, I'm currently watching WoL and so far the rating does seem justified.
It’s a German proverb “In der Not frisst der Teufel Fliegen” Note the alliteration on “f”… I like to take proverbs and expressions from all sorts of languages and then translate them into whatever language I’m speaking at that moment. It makes speech more colourful 😀

For us non-Chinese speakers, what are they actually saying? I guess it’s a short description of their role, but it would be interesting to hear what their take is on each role… I haven’t read the novel, so I’m a bit lost with all the names…
Why is this sad for her? She brought this upon herself. I’m not a big fan of the (Chinese) cancel culture, but anyone fiddling their taxes knows the risks. So when they get caught they get zero sympathy from me. What is truly sad if that all the other people who put time and energy into this production are punished by never seeing the fruit of their labour because of one person who couldn’t pay her taxes properly.
Weaving a tale of love? This feels more like weaving a tale of endless setups. After two boring episodes in which nothing happened other than all sorts of people trying to set up the FL (for no obvious reason whatsoever) had to drop this. What a waste of time!
Hmh, I'll take your word for it. I really didn't like the TTEOTM novel (and the bad translation didn't help) as I'm not a fan of the torturing each other and then falling in love trope. With all the chopping around on the drama version it was hard to tell if the script ever made sense. Don't get me wrong, I loved the acting + production, but the story really didn't do anything for me.
They also filmed Game of Thrones before the books were finished. If the author has a general idea where he wants to go with the story a good script writer should be able to fill in the blanks deviating from the general tone of the story. I trust they have a good script writer.
