I know the previews donβt show it but plz tell me that HY was able to take out Mo Bei at least. Though I usually…
I'm quite sure DZY will deal with MB. She will be full of rage after today's episode and needs to vent. This guy killed her two best friends so I'm sure she will be highly motivated.
I just started this and on episode 12 right now. I canβt understand how 2 clever people and after spending so…
They picked up an 8-year-old beggar from the street. Their main criteria was that the child had to physically ressemble CZY. I guess time was of the essence so they were already lucky to find this one and couldn't do any further screening. Also, when meeting a child at 8 years old, who knows how they will turn out once they are 18 years old.
It all comes back together in episodes 18 (my favourite!) and 19. There are a lot of flashbacks that explain the…
Luo Fei is supposed to be a cold and distant person. He observes, rather than get involved. He naturally would be dismissing of a person like Fengping. I think he only later realises how he is connected to the old case. I'm not sure I would call it remorse, it's more that he feels ashamed of his own cowardice. I don't have any insights on what their relationship was like in the book as this is in the third volume and I've only read a few chapters of that so far. The Fengping character in the book is very different from the sanitised drama-version.
Many people were expecting a bromance or BL.type content (due to the way some marketing was done) and then vented…
It's not meant to be a BL or even a bromance. The source material is a plain and simple detective story in three parts. In each part Luo Fei gets to work with a different hypnotist. They took elements of the three books and merged them into one drama.
Episodes 32-34 were full of drama and emotions but they were good. As usual the acting didn't disappoint. The…
It seems that the script-writer can't even stay coherent in the same dialogue. First the emperor tells HY "you're my only son" and literally 30 secs later he tells him "you're the eldest son". Does this even make sense??
And Anning's second in command won today's price for the stupidest move. When I saw him call out MB I thought to myself: oh good, he is leading him away so that his helper can go in and free the princess. Because that's what any reasonable person would have done. Get help from a colleague. Surely in this whole army there must have been one reliable person to fight the spy with him? But no, the idiot thinks he can take out the guy who fooled his boss for five years all by himself, and nearly gets himself killed.
Omg...... i kept crying.. πππ why is the rate this low anyway. this drama is very good deserve got a…
Too many people who haven't watched it seem to be hating it. The rating for episodes that haven't even aired yet is kind of a give-away... Hopefully the rating will creep up a bit after all the people who have genuinely watched the drama give an overall rating. Provided the inept script-writer doesn't make a complete mess of the final episode.
Yeah, I'll probably see you around. Wherever there's a costume drama (without transmigration or time travel) I will be checking in for at least a few episodes. What are you planning to watch next? I'll probably check out Lost You Forever after this, although I find the fact that they will split it in 2 parts (with unknown airing date for the 2nd part) a bit off-putting. Imagine someone falls off a cliff and then you have to wait for 6 months... Otherwise, the ones I'm most waiting for are Yong An Dream and A Journey to Love.
I don't think that you can draw any conclusions from the comparison with US-produced shows. The cost of labour…
Yes, it is quite clear that this drama is very very badly produced. I don't need convincing on this point. The fact that they had 3 or 4 directors working on this (and probably didn't allow them to re-shoot key scenes) and some trivial side-character with no added value for the story managed to muscle her way onto centre-stage in every single one of the early episodes speaks for itself. And don't even get me started on the script-clown. I stand by my earlier suggestion that this person should be sent to Anle's water prison.
I am procrastinating and avoiding to do the things I have to do till the last minute so I had a look at production…
I don't think that you can draw any conclusions from the comparison with US-produced shows. The cost of labour isn't the same and probably neither are the wages of the cast. Also, GoT was really reliant on a lot of CGI and was filmed on different locations (Ireland, Croatia, etc.) around the world.
Oh, quit the day-dreaming! You know that this is exactly what's going to happen. He'll jump off and before he even lands the ending credits start to roll. This is C-drama 101 πππ
I love that quote! Hope you're enjoying Durian's Affair. It's definitely not for me... It has the trope that I dislike the most: time-travel. You obviously haven't seen any of my many rants regarding the time-travel/transmigration trope.π€£ π€£ π€£
I can't get past 2 episode. Need some motivation to continue. The too much childish characters is putting me off.…
The FL is just putting on an act. You can see her switch between the act and her real self in the later episodes and after ep. 24 the act completely disappears.
Yes, this one is criminally underrated (like much of his work)! Have you seen Legend of the Phoenix? I can recommend…
Yes, I've seen it. It was ok because it had Jeremy in it. I didn't like the overall story or the FL so much, but the music was wonderful. I love those two songs by Li Qi! I'm currently catching up on some of his older dramas and watching Fairyland Lovers. JT only has a small role in this for a few episodes, but he literally steals the show from everyone else. He is so charming and funny in this one!!
I feel so sorry for the novel writer... any news on her reaction over this messy adaption? Probably slamming her…
Do we ever get to hear something about the authors' opinions? In most cases they don't seem to get any say in what is done with their original material and then have to suffer in silence. There are plenty of novels that had me scream in frustration at the filmed version,
Also, when meeting a child at 8 years old, who knows how they will turn out once they are 18 years old.

I just say what I think... some people like it, some don't.
