I’m confused by these badges, too. You receive them, but then what do you do with them? They don’t seem to…
That’s a bit of a double-edged sword. If people just comment without actually having anything to say/share it will be boring to wade through the sea of pointless comments.
I just came here after a few days after finishing, I was really hoping the rating would go up. But nothing happened…
Yes, his whole village was killed, but killing yet more people for his revenge won’t bring them back. I’m very much for giving them justice and punishing the culprits, but he has many totally innocent people killed because he is blinded by revenge.

Honestly, I’m on ep 13 and I find it a bit “chewy”… I’m really not into idol boys (who mostly can’t act) but I’m finding the ML so thoroughly unlikeable that I’ve kind of lost interest and watched something else in the meantime. I hate the way this guy plays with people’s lives and still expects everyone to trust and protect him. If he got beaten up I couldn’t even feel sorry for this manipulative egoist who puts his little revenge above everything else.
Watched one episode just to have a look. I liked the fact that they put a middle-aged woman in a kick-ass martial arts role, even if it’s just a support role. I don’t care much about the ML, something about him “feels off” - it’s probably his acting style…
Here’s the synopsis according to Douban: The play tells the story of Ye Fan, the head of the Department of the Three Laws, and He Lan, who was fired, who met and fell in love again and joined hands to solve the case.
Really good in the beginning then it started to have lots of areas that had holes in the middle. It was almost…
What parts in particular do you think are missing? They pieced this together with elements from the three hypnotist novels, that have three different hypnotists help Luo Fei solve crimes. So some incoherences are to be expected.
anyone else really disapionyed with ep 21, the reason behind his crimes is just so lame.
Yes, I posted a comment on episode 21 further down. Overall I’m not too happy with the “white-washed” villain (although, I have to say that the actor was an absolute pleasure to watch in this role). He is evil on a much grander scale in the novel. I guess this one can really be blamed on censorship rules that probably wouldn’t allow an ex-cop to have a 2nd career as mass murderer. He also had a much better reason for wanting revenge in the novel.
If romcom then New Life Begins is definitely good. The FL is a bit too matured in Destined tbh. But i read that…
You call her "too mature" I call her "grown-up". I'm sick 'n tired of these kids in lead roles trying to portray complex characters and (most of the time) failing miserably. A weak actress in the FL role ruins the drama for everyone!
Many people were expecting a bromance or BL.type content (due to the way some marketing was done) and then vented their disappointment through the rating.
Just had a look at the first episode... I like the colours (dark red, bronze and gold seem to dominate...) and the way it was shot. Looking forward to watching this once there are subs 😃
In case you're looking for a synopsis, here's what Douban has to say:
The play tells the story of a Putian woodcarving family at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, which was famous in the industry for its superb skills, but experienced ups and downs due to the conspiracy of treacherous people and changing with the times.
Well shit. Nooo. I had to go down the rabbit hole to figure out why it is a sin that Chinese citizens can't go…
Yes, I hope so, too. He seems to be doing a lot of promotional (clothes, furniture, etc) and charity events. I haven't seen any mention of a new drama project. From what I've read somewhere money doesn't seem to be much of an issue, so hopefully he takes his time to chose the next roles carefully.
Why this hasn't got it's distribution license yet?I have a special interest in watching this drama as it's about…
If you have never seen this in a drama, you should watch House MD. One of the main characters in that series has Huntington's disease and the problems around this feature quite prominently in the later episodes of House MD. Knowing what this disease is, I guess there is no need to ask whether this one will be BE or HE...
Somehow all your reviews sound the same... everything is boring or stupid or (my favourite) unrealistic. Maybe these dramas are just not for you.. 😉 and a nice documentary would rather keep you from falling asleep.
