Yes, I understood that from the hints that were given. It's why I really felt the SML's pain of being robbed. This is really treating women as objects that can be sold off to the highest bidder. It surely happend in ancient times, but I don't want to watch it happening.

It must be tiresome for him to be so often paired with kids who can barely act. In this one the FL is also quite young, but she's done a fair bit of acting. I remember seeing her in Ever Night. She was quite good in that role...

... they were a bit sad, but I still really enjoyed them. If anything they made me appreciate this drama even more because they were done so well. Even though FL and ML are on non-speaking terms right now, they were still able to be honest with each other and express their feelings. The scenes around the funeral were very atmospheric and filmed beautifully without ever being cheesy. Not a single person came up with "I told you Qi are trouble" despite the ML looking guilty as can be.
In this two episodes the writers managed to avoid so many of the worn-out clichés of the genre and instead gave us a grown-up version of a drama! I really cannot praise them enough for this!
The acting was similarly impressive especially in the silent moments without too much dialogue.

Thank you for explaining this! Yet another case where cutting scenes here and there without taking into account the coherence of the plot is making perfectly reasonable actions (well, as reasonable as stalking can ever be...) appear haphazard or coincidental.

Instead of burying the drama they should "bury" those script-writers... somewhere in a dark archiving room... without internet connection. Or maybe an ice-cave, so they can reflect on themselves.

It is so refreshing seeing things in "natural colours" and people dressing in colours that actually suit them. Just watching some of the recent xianxia I'm now suffering from a pink-and-pastel overload.

Sounds good! In my view other than the acting, the scriptwriting is the most critical element. I’ve seen too many dramas recently with plot holes the size of a large moon crater…

Have you tried Warm on a Cold Night? For me this is currently the best ongoing xianxia. It may be not as high-profile as some of the other dramas but the writing and pace are good and it managed to avoid some of the most dreadful tropes of the genre.

Constellation is my absolute favourite, I just love Li Qi's voice!
This is the third drama with JT where Li Qi sings one of the OST. They seem like a perfect pairing to me: one for the eyes and one for the ears 🥰

With the children show I meant TSL not ChongZi. In ChongZi the colours are far more natural.
