? joseph zeng is a stunner. he has unique visuals and many people adore his ACTING skills. he is not inferior…
I guess we all have different definitions of a "stunner". I think he's one of these people who look good in a modern styling, but once you see him in costume, not so much. Personally, I find his looks rather bland and boring. He was one of the reasons why I kept snoozing off in front of MLCB, so his acting wasn't that captivating either.
I have just over 10 episodes left, but it's getting very difficult to watch it because it is so much back-and-forth…
Yeah, they've overdone it a bit, especially with her sulking all the time. I mean, it's probably more realistic for some couples to have frequent fall-outs, but why would I want to watch them doing so 😂😂😂
First time I saw JT was in 2011, and back then, in the warring states, she was absolutely stunning. However, now,…
She's past her prime? What do you call 50-year-olds then? A person can look beautiful at any age, why would anyone define beauty only by the absence of any facial lines when this is something natural that will happen to all of us? Unless, of course, you stuff your face with Bellafill on a permanent basis. To me, the people who have these "dead" faces that cannot even show some frown lines are the real zombies and I blame all the youth-fanatics in the audience for forcing actors/actresses to do this to their faces.
There were some cgi riding, and they did explain it was because the paths were too narrow and limits the actors…
His fake horse riding looks ok because if he can ride he can fake it properly. Again, I don’t have any issue with them using fake horses in some scenes because of practicality, budget or whatever other reason. What I find highly irritating is (the FL) doing a lousy job at faking it. The essence of acting is faking something, be it the passionate kiss, or swordplay or galloping through the woods. If they were as negligent with the sword fighting scenes people would be up in arms over it. Cowboy movies…😂😂😂 yeah, they probably did quite a bit of faking as well.
Nice to see the rating for this slowly climbing up from the 6.8 of a few days ago. It’s really much better than this low rating would suggest. The acting is pretty decent, the cases are interesting and not too predictable and the banter between the two guys is hilarious.

Yes, I can see that Xu Kai seems to be ok on horseback, but the FL clearly isn’t. Especially if they were as you say “fierce horses” that excessive movement of the reins would get her bucked off in no time. If you are able to ride a horse you are also able to fake the gaits properly even if you’re sitting on a chair. Her movements don’t correspond to any gait known to man. They look more like riding a dolphin through ocean waves.
How can you make an assertion that the actors cannot ride a horse, or is that your opinion?
As a horse rider I can tell that her movements don’t correspond to any gaits. The excessive movement of the hand holding the reins is all wrong because you’re supposed to hold the reins steady. When we see them supposedly galloping side by side only the mane and ears of the horses are shown briefly which is a sure sign that they are sitting on fake horses that don’t move at all. The landscape flies by (far too fast) in a flat horizontal line.
You didnt pay proper attention to the drama '-' ofc they cant hire thousands of extras to play the army, but they've…
I know. I’m merely stating the fact that it is bad, I didn’t say that it bothered me. I grew up with fantasy movies from the 70s and 80s so I have learned to ignore bad CGI and concentrate on the plot.
I really love the story and the acting, and I don't mind the bad CGI, but the fake horse riding is killing me. The FL has the same slow-motion up-down movements no matter which gait she is supposed to ride in. The worst is when we first see her going up-down like riding the ocean waves and then there's a cut where we see her from far away (= obviously a real rider) and her body doesn't move at all. Has the director never seen a person ride a horse before?? How could he let this pass and think it looked ok? I really don't mind that some of the actors don't feel comfortable on a horse and use fake horses to pretend, but at least they should learn to act fake-riding properly.

What do you think how some big productions create scenes with thousands of warriors? Employ 10,000 extras?? No, they use maybe a hundred extras an add the other 9,900 people using modern technology. This drama has quite a bit a bad CGI (where you can clearly see that the people are standing in a studio in front of a blue screen and the artificial scenery is added) so they could have done the same to enhance the Cui army.
Omg… what are you doing here Alen Fnag 😭 support role?
You could ask the same about Jeremy Tsui, but I think it’s better to be in a support role in a good drama, than be the lead in something low-budget, surrounded by people who cannot act.
No, not really. He and the ML have different goals and a different mentality, but even though they are initially on opposite sides they collaborate against their common enemy. I actually liked him a lot in the novel. They may give a slightly different twist to his character in the drama script, but from the clips that I’ve seen they were still working/drinking together.
