I knew Li Di was a douche bag and his mom was a despicable human being as well. He didn't have time to make babies…
I’m not sure if they have included this in the drama version, but in the novel Li Di holds a secret concerning Shen Ryan’s father. That’s why she cannot leave him.
The big sis (beautiful, elegant smart beyond common intelligence)is nailing it! Special Kudos to the actor Xia…
Yes, she is a beauty to my taste! The FL not so much, but at least her acting is much better than I had expected, so when they tell me she is Chang’an’s greatest beauty I just go with the flow…
Up to ep 6 be like..SZ: I want to go too!LSY: No, you stay.SZ: I cry you to death!! WoaaaaaLSY: *half death* go..…
Yeah, telling her was definitely a mistake! 😂😂😂 Since in the drama version they cannot show how she seduces him to wrap him around her little finger this is a nice substitution.
Only a few people who supposedly dropped it (or never even watched) rated so far and some weren’t ashamed to…
Dame Diana Rigg only passed away a few years ago. She’s been around as recent as GOT where she had one of her last roles. If you had to google her it says a lot 😂 Yes, Viggo Mortensen, the autocorrect isn’t my friend. I know because there was quite a bit of fuss about people publicly telling him to Botox his face and he didn’t. If you look at his face today it’s quite obvious … I think there is a difference between people getting there nose or some other feature changed at the beginning of their career and those who plastify their face to the point of being unable to move it. The latter impedes their job as actors, the former doesn’t.
Synopsis from DramaWikiYong'an, the capital city, fell into chaos due to the collapse of the West Canal. Shen…
The big conspiracy makes up a good deal of the novel. It would be great if they kept this part in the drama rather than just concentrating on the romance.
Yeah I agree that the whole dream stuff isn't really adding anything to the show atm, other then the fact that…
This drama has a much healthier attitude towards the subject than all those dreadful rapist-to-lover stories that are currently so fashionable in web novels and to some extend also in C-dramas. Maybe the producers wanted to make a point (this bit isn’t from the novel).

Yes, that bit was in the novel. I’m glad they kept that in. Only in the novel she was much cleverer and went to several shops to buy parts of the herbal formula, but she still got busted in the end.
I loved episode six the most. We got to see some interesting angles from the characters, and Jeremy has a heart.…
Ah, I like his evil, angry face the best. His expression in ep. 5 when the palace eunuch told him to show no mercy, that evil ficker in his eyes was absolutely priceless!
Not very. The synopsis is based on the novel, but they changed quite a few things… For instance there no longer is a younger brother and it’s the elder sister who successfully runs a cosmetics shop. And of course as the squeaky clean ML of a C-drama Lu Yan can no longer lure her into an affair and set her up as his mistress either 😂 He is now offering her shelter in a very platonic way.

So true! I think she could even give crypt keepers nightmares…. For me the two prime examples of how and how not to age are the great French divas Catherine Deneuve and Jeanne Moreau. One started looking like a distorted copy of herself, the other one aged gracefully.
Ditto! Maybe we should start a petition on change.org…😂
I don’t know how to get in there… if you find out let me know. I don’t understand Chinese, so for me it will just be the pleasant sound of a voice that is missing in this show 😂

Not true. There are quite a few high profile western actors who haven’t messed with their faces. People like Virgo Mortensen or Diana Rigg spring to mind, but there are many more. I think there is a lot more tolerance towards actors naturally having facial lines and the so-called character actors are allowed to age.
