My brother's voice didn't change either. People knew he was a boy but they still made fun of him and made his teenage years very unpleasant. I'm sorry you also have to deal with this. I hope we are moving more toward a time where we just accept people for who they are and it doesn't matter. You wouldn't make fun of someone with cancer or in a wheelchair, why make them unhappy over some other medical condition? It's ridiculous.

There were some really great and touching moments but the last few episodes brought it down a little. Still worth watching.

How can you wish that on someone else?

I am just learning Mandarin and I would prefer learning actors' real names as opposed to English nicknames that they probably feel little or no connection to. If I see an English name it honestly makes it that much harder for me to remember their real Chinese names.

I haven't finished watching yet. I'm surprised at the number of people with SL syndrome. I'm not saying there aren't issues with the ML but the SL is so condescending toward the FL and has no understanding of her at all. I don't think I'll have any problem completing the series. It isn't perfect but it's okay.

I started watching on Prime and after so many episodes they want me to pay extra to watch. So gutted. What I've seen I've really enjoyed.

Well, I'm married so I watch them because my husband does. LOL However you bring up a very good point. This is exactly where I could see it was simply a matter of the culture I was raised in. It's the same thing. However I now prefer Wuxia and Xianxia to DC and Marvel!

I dropped my first Wuxia series because the flying weirded me out but once I learned more about the genre and understood it, I am more open minded about it. You can't take these things literally. :)

The writers definitely failed. I found a good review to represent how I feel about the series and shared the link below. I could never explain it as well.

I read your post before I posted my initial comment. You can see below for a review I found this morning that captures the aspects that I found dissatisfying. It's great if you find reasoning that makes you feel satisfied with the ending but I regard everyone's takes on it as speculation. In terms of having a fresh view on the story of Sisyphus, I am deeply disappointed in the writers who seemed to abandon any hope of having something new to say and sticking with that line of thinking. I gave it a higher score probably than I really think it deserves because I have a high opinion of the acting and don't think the actors deserve to be punished for the writing. The special effects were quite good too. I felt much the same as when the series Lost ended, although that was much more infuriating because viewers invested in so many seasons and then in the end it was a nothing burger. I don't feel like I wasted my time watching this series in the same way as I felt about watching Lost.

I will always give space for people to interpret as they wish. The various interpretations on the ending don't inspire me to think any better of the ending. I regard it as lazy and counterproductive and my husband labels it "fan service". I can't argue with him. My husband and I discussed the ending, which we both disliked, and my husband came up with a good analogy for us for the reason why. It was the same reason we found disappointment with the ending of the movie Contact. If you find a way to reconcile the ending to your liking, I am happy for you. I really enjoyed this series. I have to thank previous posters who talked about the novel and where to find it translated. I started reading a couple of days ago and also enjoying the novel very much. I can see how the necessary adaptations (i.e. having to leave out time travel) would change Ran Yan's character quite a bit between the two. I can accept that the drama and the novel are not really the same. I hope another season is coming. Want to see what havoc Su Fu can wreak when he's off the rails!
