That is true. I see her getting closer to XL but I don’t see her becoming romantically interested in him. Saying that I can see why everyone refers to XL as her soulmate.

What is so great about her old life? She was basically abandoned by her family and all alone. Right now she has mu, pimply, and skinny. She likes the townspeople and she looks forward to pimply and skinny having their own kids.

In the trailer he orders her to be tortured within an inch of her life so the fact that it shows her leg being broken and her calling out ‘brother’ that is likely the moment that confirms it . Especially since in the trailer for the following episode she is only shown with one broken leg and not someone who was brutally tortured. That is my guess anyways.

Yes for being so strategic; he has not been the smartest with her actions:
1. Saving him after setting him up
2. Ensuring he got the fox tail back despite it being no more than a trinket to other people who don’t know it’s sentimental value.
3. Crying when he told the story about XY (not characteristic of a man in that setting).

I guess CX suspects XY is hiding their identity so he isn’t completely clueless.

I’m guessing at that moment, no one knows her real identity yet? When does CX figure it out?

From her perspective, he doesn’t need her for anything hence he could leave at anytime.

This was totally it which was why he told his sidekick to kill him if he became a butterfly slave. Except his tone was more certainty than a what if situation.

I haven’t read the novel but here’s my speculation on why XY puts up with XL or is attached to him. He’s the only one around her that needs her (to heal him) and will live forever like her. Maybe she sees him as some one who she can be acquainted with during her long life. I think she is sincere every time she talks about not wanting to be lonely hence wanting to stay at the rejuvenation hall with mu, pimply, and skinny.

I feel like the trailers are favouring ZX especially with the foreshadowing from their childhood vow to marry each other. But who knows, it’s Xianxia, so maybe all the ML die in the end.
