OP said there was no buildup but all they have been doing is building up his storyline and their storyline together. Every episode we see more and more of his world and the people who shape it. Her world thus far is pretty small (we don't even know if her grandpa is a maternal or paternal grandfather) it only started expanding once he came into the picture.

Your post started with judgment. You claimed it was dragging the ML, I point out all the many things he is doing while recuperating from *life threatening* injuries, now you play a victim because I suggest you find something that suits you more if you don't think he is doing enough?

Also it's okay not to like the show, no one is forcing you to watch it but claiming the ML isn't doing enough is not an accurate assessment.

The plot is only moving forward bc of the ML and the actions he is taking.

1. He agrees to marry the FL
2. He keeps his identity secret
3. He agrees to stay and doesn't leave even when he could go back to the capital with his friend
4. He is working in the shadows and sourcing out info

He's already fought off a group of local rebels, armed mercenaries (2x), secretly purchased supplies for his wife, and rescued her, while spying on the army, recuperating from life threatening injuries and investigating a 16 year old mystery.

If you don't think that's doing enough maybe this isn't the right drama for you.

Yeah I agree with that rating. It was also nice because I was in a cDrama dry spot and this one came at the right time 🫶🏼

I agree the last few episodes are pretty cringe but everything is so pretty and the soundtrack is fire so it's getting away with a lot
