Telling the mom he didn't want to lie to SX, then lying, is still bad. We have to be able to admit that.
No where in my posts did I say I didn't enjoy the show or that you shouldn't/couldn't. What I responded to OP about was the idea that the ML is a Green Flag and I mentioned behaviors I saw from him that should be labeled as Red Flags. I think it's important to call out these behaviors and not romanticize them because they are harmful. Other red flag behaviors that he displayed that should not be dismissed :
- Pretending to be drunk to manipulate FL to taking care of him and letting him touch her - Hiding the fact that he had feelings for her as her physician so he can continue treating her - Allowing his subordinate to continue serving under him even though he knew she had feelings for him (and it seems clear from the onset he knew about her crush but disregarded it until she interfered with his burgeoning relationship)
I am not saying that every male lead has to be a green flag to be enjoyed (lord knows how much I love him as XW from 'Story Of Kunning Palace' and he was insanely toxic) it's just we should not ignore the toxic behaviors of ML to fit into a Green Flag narrative.

In that case, he is still a red flag. If he is not the actual doctor (which he should not be) he is not bound by confidentiality. Moreover, he still lying in SX's face about a deeply personal issue that impacts her.
It's not even hard to objectively look at this, just imagine your BF knew your mom was diagnosed with a malignant cancer and that you definitely would want to know about this (and that you were already worried about your parents) but he still hid it from you under the guise of being. 'for your own good...' that is not partnership. And to make it worse everyone is gaslighting YOU about being upset about being lied to by *your whole family and HIS* to make you seem like you are being unreasonable for thinking someone should have told you the same thing that everyone else seems to know.
Even if SX mom's directly asked him he should have said look I LOVE your daughter and I do not want to lie to her.
And lastly, I want to add just 10 episodes prior the mom was giving SX grief about *not telling her about the breakup with her ex and how she should not suffer alone* only to literally do the same to SX 4 episodes later. Make it make sense!

Actually, he's still a red flag because ethically he should not be treating his girlfriend's mother. It's a conflict of interest. You never hear of Dr's treating their own family/friends for a reason, it would be malpractice.

Even if he was doing it for the MIL, he should have recommended another Dr. to the MIL who he trusts if felt conflicted and honestly I am not sure if someone that close to a patient is allowed to treat them (so that's a question for the folks who live in China... I def don't think it would be allowed in the US). That said, IMO the ML lies too easily about serious situations to be a green flag.
The show glossed over that whole debacle, but realistically, that whole scenario would've sowed a different level of mistrust... "what do you mean you are lying to me (along with my entire family) about my mother's health?', "What else are you capable of lying to me about?", rather than taking responsibility he said he did it because the MIL asked him to and deflected by talking about his own trauma with his mother. It's giving gaslighting.
All in all, I still love the show, but I wish that part of the arc got a few more episodes to flesh out because it absolutely was wild to see. More than anything, I absolutely cannot stand that SX character apologized to HS for calling him out on his lie because she had every right to.

Also giving up Cherry's location to JXL doesn't mean they reconcile and more than likely would end with YQ jumping in to save her. Also why didn't she go to the Aquarium? I get these are teens with poor decision making skills but at the very least everyone knows when you like someone proximity is key. Her plan to keep putting Cherry in these situations where she needs emotional support and also not show up where her crush is is a fail on QYY's part.

I also think the pacing of this one is a bit off... JQX has been ignoring her for years, immediately dismissed her the moment he saw her, and apologized later the same day and expected a simple "sorry" would be sufficient? I wish they would have let the rift fester for a bit and made the family dinner their first interaction after their fall out. Him coming to apologize to her in the woods makes no sense... how did he know where she was, she didn't even know where she was lol? I also don't think their HS days should be a daily recap of every interaction, they should spend max 3-4 eps in HS and move on but I have a feeling they will spend 10+ eps in that arc of the story.
There is nothing strange about this. The actress plays the main role in a drama that will be watched and judged…

Folks who want to watch horror movies/films would feel mislead/angry if they were expecting to watch a show promoted as the "scariest show ever" only to see a show about people yelling "boo" and the camera cutting away at critical moments. Ultimately, this was more than "not wanting to kiss" it's selling a false product. "Be Passionately In Love" with no passion is terrible marketing. I am not sure who did the casting/promotion but both people should be fired and I would strongly recommend actors stick to the genre's the are most comfortable with rather than signing up for content they are not and subjecting audiences to this nonsense. Perhaps Liu Hat Cun can try horror if romance is not her cup of tea
I wish her husband would find out about her emotional cheating affair rather than brushing it off as a joke.

If you "love slow burns" and you weren't expecting them to sleep together ep 4, I just wanted to gauge what your expectations for this drama were.
This show is pretty well paced for the story it is telling.
The characters are nuanced and going through some deeply emotional pain. The pace makes sense for the setup. The show is about healing.
