They're going overboard with the comedy this season, it's turning into a gag drama lol.
Still enjoying it though, I just hope they will tone it down a little in the later half, the first season had good balance between comedy and the storyline.
Namgil's been complaining for a while now that he wants to do melo and give action a rest since he's getting old, but man's still slaying them action scenes like nobody else?? Middle age who.
I absolutely loved her style in Through the Darkness and she's already managed to raise Fiery Priest 2 to a new high from season 1 (which I thought extremely highly off).
I suck at remembering director names, imagine my hybe seeing it's her who directed In The Net. My exceptions for that show reached a new peak now, I wish they'd release it already, it's been 200 years since they finished filming.
Definitely a director whose future works I'll always take a peak at.
The thug villain this season seems like a proper psychopath, does Sung Joon like such characters lol. Hwang Cheol Bum in S1 was a similar character, but he had his own set of morals, I don't remember if he actually killed anyone. Sung Joon's character will probably kinda combine HCB and Lee Joong Kwon from season 1, with the similarity to HCB but also being a proper nonredeemable psycho like LJK was.
It's been 5 years yet Namgil and Hanee look exactly the same, or actually, even better :o
I looooooved S1 so much but so far I think S2 is even better. It's funnier and the directing style is better for me, I hope the rest of the season keeps it up.
If the story was meant to be kinda ambiguous, as in they skip out on explaining a lot and want you to just go with it with the little information we had, then okay I personally can roll with such a take. But overall this would've been better with one more episode which would have set up the story, the characters and previous happenings.
For me the dark lightning wasn't a problem, I think it fit the show and brought a certain kinda intensity to the fight scenes.
Acting was the highlight of the show. Besides Jo Yoon Soo and Mu Jin Sung, I have seen the rest of the cast before so I came in with high exceptions and was not disappointed. JYS was amazing, I'm looking forward to seeing her in many and diverse roles in the future. I don't know why some criticize KKW, yes the english was bad, but I have heard a lot worse from many korean actors, overall his performance was steady and reliable like usual. CSW didn't really get a change to show a lot of range, but he was gave a solid performance as expected. KJH is always pit of a scene stealer, man has such an intense presence. Besides the FL, Seonho impressed me the most, and I don't say this just because I'm a fan. I was interested to see how he would pull of a character like this, in TC the character had a very humorous tone even though he was also a brutal killer, this role was the first on screen where he played a very serious and stony character and I think this was his best performance yet. The interrogation and final scene were very strong.
