What did Sang Zhi do to chase after ml? She's comparable to Sang Yan not Sang Zhi at all
In both hl and first frost they make it very clear that Sang Zhi chose Yihe for her own career aspirations. She had no contact with Jiaxu and was even ignoring him before they coincidentally met again after she had given up on him. Flying to Yihe on one day to confirm whether her crush had a girlfriend isn't "worse" in any way especially since she had not expressed her feelings to him yet. I'm not reading the part about our secret as I haven't watched it yet and plan to so Im trying to avoid spoilers, sorry about that. I just think the comparison to Sang Zhi is way off.
I get your frustrations with the way people describe Qile. I also disagree with most of the criticism as well. Imo if they had shown more of how close they were before ml left as well as show more about what the ml was going through, there would be far less criticism. My biggest criticism is that we don't see enough of their relationship before they seperate to justify Qi Le doing so much for him nor do we see enough of ml's suffering that leads to him leaving. The way ml talks before they seperate is also a bit iffy considering he knew he was leaving. I unfortunately compare him to Yifan a lot. The way Yifan and Sang Yan seperated as well as how the drama showed Yifan's suffering was done much better imo.
Just watch till 18 and think that is the end. next 4 episodes are the most dogshit thing i have ever watched
Hard agree. People will mostly complain about the censorship ending in the last 15 mins but after the fight in ep19 the show was kind of a letdown until the end.
That's due to the censorship on time travel/rebirth stories. Just consider the "true" ending being before…
About 15mins before the end of the final episode. That's honestly what I consider the true ending. Fast forwarded most of the censored ending that comes after that.

I completely agree with you on that. The best ones imo are the ones that make it so that things they go through are acknowledged but most just go with the whole it was all a dream nonsense. For my own sanity and satisfaction, if they return to their original world/timeline in the last episode then I just consider the ending being just before that because that's likely what the writers wanted as the ending.
This was a mess of an ending. What was even the point of the whole drama if they are going to be in the same spot…
That's due to the censorship on time travel/rebirth stories. Just consider the "true" ending being before that. Off the top of my head, Mr bad, the day of becoming you, a dream within a dream and romance of tiger and rose all have that kind of ending because of the censorship on time travel/rebirth/transmigration stories. Admittedly some handle the endings better than others but we shouldn't fault the shows when they are forced to have these kind of endings. I personally disliked the entire final arc though, lol.
Ep19-23. Why? Just why? Sometimes keeping a simple fluffy story as just a simple fluffy story till the end is good. I wish more fluffy/slice of life shows were like hidden love and understood that there's no need for an explosive ending arc that will get viewers' blood pumping, head scratching and wow them.
oh I felt the exact opposite. The pace really picked up for me after the truth was revealed.
Most of these 40 episode historical dramas seem to do the same. First half is great, mainly focusing on the relationship between fl and ml as well as their family then second half brings in the palace and everything sucks. Off the top of my head destined, youthful glory and Si Jin do the exact same thing. They are all better in the first half before the palace takes center stage imo. Si Jin isn't as big of a drop off as the other 3 though
Hate it when characters get together and the ml is hiding something. It's just there for a future breakup/seperation when that secret is obviously accidentally exposed. Love the main couple and only watching for them but I'm dropping this at ep 27 because of the stupid ticking time bomb. I'm also tired of skipping Yu Da scenes,
9.5 before the last episode but drops to 8.5 because the last episode exists in the way it does. Easily would have made my top 10 and potentially top 5 if the last episode was done better and his extreme jealousy around episode 18 to 24 was toned down by a lot.
Why does the last episode treat their relationship like it's just about them dating and having feelings for each other? Their relationship was about their great friendship, make them reconcile as friends and then make them date not make it seem like it's all about them dating. The show is acting like they seperated after confessing/kissing/dating. Tf kind of reason was that for him to not come back? Just say he was depressed. Thinking about that last episode is pissing me off. Still a great show, best friendship I've seen between the 2 main leads.
Seeing ep 19 and 20 really makes me wish we had more scenes of them together earlier, or that there were atleast 10 episodes left to show how they reconcile and heal. This is kind of like the first frost with genders reversed when looking at it from a certain angle.
Fl constantly gets angry and "mistreats" ml from dumb misunderstandings and rumors and it's never acknowledged. She never apologizes or even shows any remorse for it, show just sweeps it under the rug or treats it like it's ml's fault
