I think that this is lowkey one of the few times when a remake would beat the original kdrama version. I could see a japanese or chinese remake and I think they would flesh out the characters and the story. The problem was never the premise. The premise was always interesting, it's what made me watch the series in the first place. The writing and production ruined everything.
I'm a big fan of Dragons, but goddamn, never seen a dragon in any medium that was this useless and stupid.š
They fumbled SO HARD with her character. They could have done so many interesting things considering her relationship with Ogwi and her powers but they reduced her to a damsel in distress
Lmao, Park Hyung Sik's agency had to clarify that his payment wasn't as high as some media reported. This is escalating into a great mess. I also don't believe that they got that high of a pay check (400 million won per appearance!?) but it's clear that the majority of the budget was spent of the actors.
And before people get the wrong idea: I do not accuse Park Hyung Sik. He was one of the few good aspects in this poor excuse of series. I'm just saying that korean producers should understand that you cannot rely on actors' popularity in order to create buzz around your series. You need a good story, decent production and good directing. Twelve had none.
I watched episode 8 and I'm sorry but I can't bring myself to hate Sang Yeon. Yes, she did many wrong things, especially toward Eun Jung but she went through so much. She never learned how to communicate properly or express her love and care towards the people who are close to her, so she ended up isolating herself and keeping her emotions bottled up.
I am not trying to say she was a good friend. Even though she cared for Eun Jung, she still didn't treat her right. But we should consider her position and feelings. Her inferiority complex, her attempts to cope with trauma and her pride were the catalysts to her fallout with Eun Jung. But ultimately, she's not the villain. She's just another human who made the wrong decisions because she couldn't handle her emotions properly or seek help.
what do you think the main problems of this drama? for me it is too much characters with none of almost no character…
I totally agree. If the characterisation and the story were written better, I would be able to excuse the visuals and the bad fighting scenes. But everything was just so...empty. The characters barely had personalities to begin with.
