Listen: I have zero problem with slow paced dramas. After all, I love Beyond Evil and Through The Darkness. But in Twelve's case, we're talking about an 8 episode series with episodes of 45 minutes duration. The worldbuilding is almost non-existant at this point, we have gotten vague information about the Angels and Ogwi. I know that the next episodes will expand the story but the pacing so far is not great.
The comedic parts disrupt the flow and are barely funny to say the least. Okay, there were some good moments but they are trying really hard to apply some comedy and it doesn't work. The fighting scenes are still poorly directed and I do not feel any strong emotions about the characters so far. I am intrigued by Ogwi, Mirr and Wonseung but apart from that, I don't feel anything more.
I watched the drama and honestly, I don't understand some people who say that the series scratched the surface of military abuse. Like, what more did you want?
I totally agree. I know that a loveline is inevitable and I'm okay with it as long as the romance part does not overshadows the relationship between the girls. I hope the writers did a good job handling that conflict, whether it will be a love triangle or not, I do not want to see the girls fighting because of a man.
I hope Choi Hyung Wook will play a darker character compared to his other roles. I'd love to see him in something different, he has the capability to convey darker emotions, especially when he portrays anger.
THE TRAILER LOOKS SO EXCITING, OMG. I am so sat for this movie and the cast is so promising! Si Wan, Gyu Young, Kyung Gun, Hyung Wook...I hope the movie will be good!
Will there be romance between the main leads? I'm asking because based on the second teaser and the second poster, some people have started to assume that something will happen between Eun Su and Gyeong.
Although I personally rated it with a 7, I totally agree that the overall rating should be higher. At least an 8. I hope that it will improve both in terms of rating and popularity, everyone can gain something from watching it.
idk why ppl are watching something that they know its genre like fantasy or something then came to rate it bad…
It's my first time watching a fantasy based kdrama and since I knew that big names were attached to it, I had bigger expectations. I also got intrigued by the story, it was what made me eager to watch it in the first place.
I totally respect different opinions and I understand why some people might have considered Kim Nam Gil's acting boring, but honestly, the fault is not his if Lee Do came across as boring compared to Moon Baek. The writers did not utilize the character that much, they could have done so many things regarding his trauma and guilt but they settled on a serious police officer who could solo everyone. Kim Nam Gil did a good job at portraying Lee Do, while he didn't express a big variety of emotions, he was gentle, angry or sad when it was required and he was good in the fighting scenes. Unfortunately, the script that was given to him was poor compared to other works, in Through The Darkness he portrayed a much more complex character and he was magnificent.
You know what? I have roasted this drama a lot in the comments but after watching the first episodes of Twelve, I'll cut is some slack because at least the action scenes were good and intense. They didn't make up for the lackluster story but at least they gave me something entertaining to look at.
