Although my bitterness and disappointment have toned down, my overall opinion on the series remains the same. It's still a pity that what could have been a complex action series regarding morals, guns power and justice ended up being a shallow mess.
That being said, one thing I'm thankful for is that more and more people discovered Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang. Both of them have been pretty much consistent actors and they deserve much more recognition. Thanks to a big platform, they have gotten it and I hope they'll work together again because their chemistry was really good.
So happy to see that due to Trigger's success, Through The Darkness soared on Netflix Korea. And more people discover the series after being introduced to Kim Nam Gil. It was about time the series got more attention. I hope more and more people will discover this masterpiece.
5 episodes in and I can safely say that this series is truly very underrated. The plot might not be groundbreaking but I am a big fan of the characterisation, there's something really amusing with watching a bunch of adults acting like immature teens and backstabbing each other over pottery.

I'd say that most of the scenes between them showcased their chemistry. The meal with Elijah. Yohan deactivating the bomb. Their last scene together. Romantic or not, their interactions were intimidate and highlighted their bond. There is nothing wrong with choosing to interpret it platonically, but the chemistry was still there.

There is the romance subplot between Ju Garam and Iji and there are hints between Seongjun, Ujin and maybe Ung. We'll have to wait until episode 7 to fully confirm if a love triangle might happen.

As for Ung's feelings, nothing is certain to be honest. I myself make assumptions but from what I've seen, it doesn't seem like he has any romantic intentions towards Ujin. I might have been mistaken.
