It's been my nightmare for years: they shout about a strong female lead, show you how badass she is... and then…
OMG, YES. That conversation where he told her he wanted her to focus on having kids and being his obedient wife even though the reason he fell in love with her was her strength and courage... I hated it SO MUCH omg. The writers destroyed this couple, istg this drama traumatized me. I loved it so much when it started but it really left an awful taste in my mouth by the time I couldn't take it anymore and dropped it.
Yeah, I had seen some comments on Weibo ;) hopefully in few years we may see a proper adaptation of the novel
Honestly, I don't know if it's because of how the censorship has tightened, but lately it feels like we're only getting copy-pasted dramas, just with different names and faces. Everything feels the same, and they all have the same issues (namely, terrible decisions, "strong" FLs who turn weak as heck as soon as there's romance involved, plot holes the size of an ocean, convenient stupidity,...). It's exhausting.
They might as well serve Nanxia to Beimo on a silver platter. They have an emperor who is incompetent at best…
"Maybe they both should take over their countries, get married and unite as one." Man, I can only dream of a world in which the scriptwriters have the guts to write something like that. It would be epic.
Looks like another drama I might have to drop going by the recent episode comments. I'm just really disappointed…
It's been my nightmare for years: they shout about a strong female lead, show you how badass she is... and then turn her into a moron who must ask for permission to breathe as soon as she falls in love. Exhibits one and two: The Song of Glory and The Legends. I was hoping this would be the exception to the rule, but it doesn't seem like it. I'm so tired of this bs.
there are so many scenes that have been cut out or is it just IQiyi? Im on episode 9 and it's unbearable
Yes, I noticed it as well. I wouldn't say it's unbearable, but it does lead to inconsistencies and plot holes. Like the door being open when she was bathing even though we saw her close it tightly five minutes earlier...
Why? Can i know why? Because i'm more excited after the trailers
For me, it's the way they're treating this as a comedy when there was so much potential for a serious, heart-wrenching show (which is made all the more interesting given the role reversal). Especially with KSH as ML, he's a fantastic actor.
You might be in the same boat as I. Whenever I watch dramas these days at least a quarter of the time I'm trying…
"I fear I've watched too many dramas..." Dude, same. I have no patience left for idiocy and manufactured conflict, it's now a miracle if I can finish a drama...
Omg this is beautiful. 2ML hugging scene! I really wished they did more a direct translation of the Chinese series…
What would the Chinese title translate to? I think those "love something", "legend of whoever" and so on are stupid, too, and it's especially jarring here. It makes the show sound so corny when it's everything but.
It's just two very small similiarities, and I wouldn't even say the ML counts, since FX is super clever while this one is just mediocre at best and barely has any personality to begin with.
Now a days, they like to make the King in messy look. It's a trend now....just like JOF's King.🤣🤣🤣. Too…
I think it's an excellent way to show how secure he is in his power. His rule is so absolute he doesn't even need to attend court or put up appearances.
Man, I can only dream of a world in which the scriptwriters have the guts to write something like that. It would be epic.
