Sawako actually it's not meant to be that scary. She is not scary or creepy also in manga. She is supposed to be gloomy because of her being social awkward, and I talk this from a personal experience. When I was in high school I was a lot like Sawako and got said by people that I was "scary" or "gloomy" 'cause I was social awkward and replied with low tone of voice. And got picked because I was introverted and weird to other eyes. (now I'm a lot different, so weird how you can change with years). The thing of Sawako is that they missed to explain her backstory, of why people started to call her Sadako. That mainly comes from her haircut for example.. and well some more that can be read. So let's say that more than scary it's her being unapproachable and because of voices that spread around the school. It's not Sawako herself that's scary, but the idea of people that have of her. Her being introverted, without friends and with that haircut that was the same of Sadako. BUT I agree that her Sawako missed of something. Sawako is a beautiful girl also in the manga, but she had a more awkward and gloomy look in first chapters. Mikako Tabe's Sawako it's a good example of Sawako should be. She is a pretty actress but looks natural and in the character. This Sawako is not bad, it's not bad that she is pretty (in the manga Sawako is a lot pretty, but more a natural beauty that shows her beauty when is valued), but lacks of something unlike Mikako one. Another thing is that I noticed something in her eyes, not sure if it was really make up, but her eyes stand out a lot. If it was really make up, without it, she would have felt more normal... also 'cause normally students shouldn't wear make up in Japan, and even more a person like Sawako that are good students and not interested in make up.
What I'm loving the most of this adaption are Ayane, Chizu, Sanada and Pin. I think their casting is perfect <3 I loved their chemistry together. I think Sawako is not bad at all (she is pretty in the manga, but something is missing. Not sure if she had some make up at her eyes or it's just her natural look, that it's something distracted me since looks make up and that gave her model vibes. But overall I think the actress did a good job). Kazehaya looks like it's a lot far from how I imagine Kazehaya, he is a pretty normal cute guy, but the actor can act and he looked fresh with the personality (I think we can mostly agree that 2010 main cast of these 2 was perfect). So at the end It wasn't that bad, I'm enjoying it <3 I like a lot the new ost and I like to see some of my fav moments (that wasn't in the movie or anime) in action. Yeah they cut off a lot, but the key moments are in. I think it's a pretty enjoyable watch.
Bromance it's amazing. Plus there are more type of bromances. From Chu Ying and Shi Guang (as master and disclipe), to Yu Liang and Shi Guang, to others that I will not tell to not spoil. Anyway there is plenty of bromance.
Can't wait to watch it since it's the shojo of my heart <3 I'm not hyped for the cast, Movie's cast was literally perfect, while they feel so different - but, I will give them a chance. Hope their chemistry will be good.
Final Judgment after a few hours from ending: this show it's a trasure, it's not perfect. Thinking about it the problem it's more a time managment: I would have liked 2 eps over the time skip (if you have to do that) and resolved their reunion in a better way. And as some say ep 7 as a special ep. About Kiss or not it's a personal view, I don't mind not having it (even if I was always on the seat somehow waiting it). Anyway for the rest: I watched various BLs mainly for the plot, but this time I was hooked by the couple. They became my comfort zone. The acting it's also good and not cringe, I think they did pretty well --- especially Ye Chan, he was a lot charming as Tae Hyun. This could have been a better drama with a bigger budget? Of course yes! As many dramas (Semantic Error-- I wished was longer, for example). It's good? Yes! Let's not focus too much on a few details! I think the drama it's pretty comfort and good. Normally I would give this drama a 7.5/8, but I got hooked and was comfortable. For me it's a warm 9 for now. Hope in the future we can get longer BLs!

[Was wrong, sorry X'D]the Original Source (manhwa) doesn't have kiss (except in a special that was not covered. And was requested by fans) - so at the end they followed what happened in the manga.
I really loved Deokman and Bidam in Queen Seon Deok, pretty old drama and historical. But they literally won best couple at MBC with a really high score from the audience, and they had like-- 3 hugs?
There are straight couples with no kiss and no one says anything, this happens in a BL and people go crazy X'D One of my top otps never had a kiss in 62 eps and they still are one of the best couples I know. Yeah I would have liked a small kiss, but that doesn't make a drama. I will miss this <3
