I really wanted to read the novel, but I'm turned off, and also very uncomfortable, by the age gap in the novel.…
You are correct. Most of the dramas we know and love source material have these ages gaps and often edited so it doesn't make the viewer uncomfortable. If you mind the age gap I would skip this. I would also skip The first Jasmine as well. She is also 15 in the book. Come to think about it... Shit nearly all of them are like this. These time periods the girls were married off around 15-18. Males in china were not allow to marry until 20 so. Skip all the books in that case. (I hope I didnt come off as an ass. Its kinda hard to convey emotions through words.)
By like the fourth time they let Quan Jing Ting off the hook instead of just killing him when he's clearly trying…
Hongye let him go because of his son. WRONG MOVE! He should have let his kid stay and beheaded his ass. Fugui should have killed him. Rumu SHOULD HAVE KILLED HIM. HOLY FK. Weiyun should have slaughtered his ass. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I just finished this drama and Im angry and feel like an emotional preteen. HOW IN THE FK?!? Ugh is 9am too early for a drink?
Good drama, enjoyed it. 10/10 for me, for being a short drama it was very good. The ending although makes sense,…
That ending had to happen or they needed to expose her. Either way the ending was right. He had to die for her to live. She is a good emperor. She deserved to rule. I also think him being her empress would have worked. Thinking back on the story though, there no really good way to write that in. Her husband had to die.
maybe because of shifting tastes?? according to this:https://www.koreaboo.com/stories/k-dramas-c-dramas-korean-chinese-best-worst-2025/
Don't get me wrong there was a drama a few years ago where the guy was clearly gay. All of a sudden he has a wife. I'm my head I'm like "NOW WE ALL KNOW THIS MAN IS GAY AS HELL" LOL
I normally skip over scenes if it comes to that. What I am talking about especially in western shows is its over saturation of it. Like they are spoon feeding an agenda. Once in a while fine but not everything.
My heart is so broken though.
