before i watch i have a question, i know he starts liking her pretty early while she's scared of him and Inlove…
The moment another guy (Yan Lin) mentions her as his love interest our ML rushes to her home to play and talk to her father, even he didn't visit them for years. And, it is obvious (at least was to me when I watched the show for the first time) that he shows "special" interest in her. He doesn't show his feelings for her to her, but viewers can see he is into her. She can't.
Chen xin xu is just not big enough of an actor and doesn't have that it factor so I am not that happy. It's whatever…
I watched CXX in "Starry love", where he was ML and played 3 (+1) different characters, and he did really good job there, I must say. It wasn't an easy task and he was up to it. So, lets hope he will do good in this drama, too.
This drama was such a waste of a good story (novel) and some really good actors, destroyed by the most incompetent screenwriters, directors and editor(s) in China's entertainment industry.
Female lead character in this drama is one of the most selfish FLs I have ever seen. And MLs mental issues were treated like sprained ankle, it will heal with time, no worries. Uf.
as for Yan Lin... he is too good for this world... 😩🥲 I love every single word that comes out of his mouth.…
Same goes for me: I love this drama for the opportunity that is given to FL (but to other characters too, influenced by her) so she can have an overdo and could make better choices second time.
I came here for Wan Peng. She is a very interesting actress. I hope she will get better scripts in future. This is typical high school/university chinese drama story: lets make ML this perfect guy, smart, good looking, successful. On the other hand lets make FL not smart, not good in studying, not successful... and (yeah) lets cripple her at the end so she won't be able to do what she likes the most. She should just be happy that she has this perfect guy as her bf. Nothing else for her. I wish I read a comment like this so I could save my time. Instead, all comments are about fluff. But, fluff is not enough, not for me. Chinese women are really treated badly in dramas, and it is really sad.
Comments like those always makes me worry for the younger female generation... No wonder we have so many sad news…
So true, everything you said. I came across another one with the same trope. In that another drama ML, who falls for FL, was physically torturing FL at some point, so she was trying hard to escape. And the comments were "how ungrateful SHE is, he loves her". The fact that many comments came from girls is something that really makes me so sad.
I'm astonished how many people in these comments are angry at FL and find her "annoying" and "stupid" and "not deserving of ML" for not being delighted with the fact that she is kidnapped and for not enjoying "romance" with her kidnapper. Why, on earth, should she not try to escape? Because the actor who plays the character of her kidnapper is good looking? Because he is "nice" to her? (He is not. He lies and manipulates her till the end.)
And, it is obvious (at least was to me when I watched the show for the first time) that he shows "special" interest in her.
He doesn't show his feelings for her to her, but viewers can see he is into her. She can't.
LXY is ok actor, so I wish him the best in future.
Great drama about free will and freedom!

Uf.
Thank you for your answer.
I wish Jeremy all the luck!
