Some things the princess does is really annoying. Stuff like hanging around his rebel brother, and other things…
Shame on her. Instead, she should be very happy and grateful for being kidnapped, kept imprisoned and not being allowed to go home or to live life on her free will. God, help us with people like this!
FSF is 45. Jing Tian is 35. You must really be young to think there is a big gap. The thing I like about Jing…
I think production did dirty to both, FSF and character he plays. Him playing 15 years younger character wasn't best casting decision. This could work in "Wolf totem", but I think it didn't here. And this terrible, terrible dubbing voice. Skin smoothing. I, personally, didn't mind and I enjoyed drama very much. But, there were times that I felt sorry for FSF.
As people before me said - because of accents and standards they have when it comes to period dramas. My understanding is that it is not easy to "lose" accent that easy in their language. Many actors are very popular, but can't use their own voice due to heavy accent. But, since their traffic is high it is normal you wanna cast them, and then dub them. Then, very often sets are not "sound proof", they shoot with all sort of noises that cannot be controlled or silenced. So, actors "mark" dialogues and do dubbing in the studio. Many A+ actors go from project to project and don't have time to do dubbing in post production. Or they don't want to. And, it is cheaper for production to pay voice actor then A lister. Some actors just don't have "good" voices, or their voice don't match the character. Or, ladies have beautiful voices but they need that idiotic baby voice, so they do the dubbing. In FSF case I believe that FSF's voice would be way better choice than this dubbed voice that killed the character. This is great subject, so if anyone knows more reasons for dubbing it would be good to know.
He selects her in ep. 1. They get married (she is concubine, not official wife) in ep.2, so they are together…
They are together all the way, they never separate as she stays his concubine. Close to end he divorces princes. He marries FL as his official consort in ep. 39.
He selects her in ep. 1. They get married (she is concubine, not official wife) in ep.2, so they are together since then. He falls for her around ep. 3-4. She has one wish, to leave and go home. She admits to herself (and him later) that she likes him around ep. 10-11. They never separate, but something happens in ep. 12 that changes things.
Episode 52... My God. 7 more to come. I will finish this. I will. I will. For the sake of Cheng Yi's broken leg. I saw a video of him shooting this drama with a broken leg. So, if he could endure pain from broken leg, I will endure pain of broken drama.
how is the fl. is she stong fl? and is there a love triangle?
Well, not sure how to answer without spoiling it. They are not a couple, not officially: he is Emperor, she is servant. They like each other. They don't hide it. He, the Emperor has two priorities: 1) to stop being puppet ruler, to gain power back and 2) to protect her. So, he is the one who keeps trying to send her away, so she can survive and live carefree. She doesn't want. It is political and conspiracy drama about fight for power, both of them are just pawns, and if players need to separate them, they will do it, but for war games, not romance.
can you give me a gist of the drama, there is some hate around this drama even though its highly rated.. what's…
I can't stand misunderstandings as a plot device. This drama doesn't have it. They resolve misunderstandings bcs they talk to each other. And for a very long time (due to some sort of misund.) FL is afraid of ML, they still TALK to each other. And she trusts him, inspite her fear.
have you watched A journey to love it's highly recommended
LOL! With the spoiler like that in the title no one but masochist would watch it. But, because of the word "love" in title I thought 2 of them will survive. Meh.. If you haven't, go and check "Different princes". ML is sort of "red flag". I didn't watch it, but it seems you might like it, since you like XW so much.

I started to watch "A journey to nothing" exactly because of strong female. She was really strong: smart, independent, powerful, but kind and with sense for justice. I did not find him "a comic foil" at all. I found him equally "strong". I liked how they worked together, no miscommunications, good talk, solving problems, supporting each other, helping each other and (of course) saving each other. A true couple. Тhough, I agree that there was not much chemistry between the actors, I have no clue why. Unlike SOKP, where we had wonderful chemistry all the way. I didn't expect all of them who started the journey to survive, of course. But, the way they were executed made no sense to me. It didn't come organic from the story. You are right, it was massacre. I guess "all heroes sacrificed themselves and died so the world can live carefree in peace" trope is the reason behind the ending. Very popular trope in c-dramaland. But, as a viewer, I didn't care about world, I cared about 2 of them. So, yea, waste of time and emotions. Wish you nice day.

FL has position that demands her to be extraordinary fighter and martial artists, and she is not. She is just ok. There is reason why she got there, but it's a spoiler. So she is "just" good in fighting. She is very loyal. She has brain and she can use it. She can be childish but I didn't find it very annoying. There isn't love triangle because the focus isn't on romance. ML and FL only like each other, but he is Emperor, unmarried, so there are several females who offered themselves as consorts. Hope this helps. Have nice day.

I wrote "nothing" on purpose. For me, that was a journey to nothing, nothing to do with love. No love for the story, for characters, for audience from screenwriter. She just showed a huge amount of disrespect for all above. Sorry, that is how I feel about that drama. Wish you a nice day.
