I am on ep 36 and this happened !

So, it took a brother-in-law suicide bomber and FL partial suicide for them to get together !

Its been a long day and I really don't want to discuss it anymore. I will end it by saying, in real life after breaking up with a partner if any man in the world saw his ex-g.f with his ex-fiancé doing very romantic things...like releasing the love lanterns, watching the fireworks and giggling. He is not going to take her back ever again unless threatened with his life....cuz its very clear and stereotypical/classical sign of moving-on to men. I know Tv-show wants to portray a fantasy world of complete loser but in real life, you couldn't imagine the amount of hurt it will cause to men to see his ex-g.f, first ask for a break in relationship and then do this. Lets just end this discussion !

Ahhh again, I don't hate her and the only reason I even started this drama was Zhang Jing Yi but I can't lie about the facts due to my bias and see the same thing from other side.

When did Shen Qi threw a lifeline at her family? If I remember correctly, anything he did was invite his scammer friends and when they were scamming them, he was completely useless in solving the problem and it come back to ML to save the day. As for "teacher thing", SML failed to convince him and ML send a direct letter from security bearu and FL enticed him with Hua cookies. I wasn't the only one saying, FL felt no remorse and you can check multiple if not majority was feeling the same way.

I don't think we are going to ever agree on this and I like discussing "conspiracy theories" with you. So, I don't want to ruin the "discussion friendship" over this....lets end it here but I want you know, I wasn't taking shots on you or anything like that. I just hate "FL character writing" where an iota of emotion/humanity is considered weakness in their dictionary.

Firstly, FL is a reckless person by nature and ML saved her ass multiple times, even in todays episode if it was not for ML saving her from the assassin. She would be dead and without ML, sooner or later she is going to have herself killed anyway due to her reckless behaviour. Secondly my main point of contention is, showing signs of remorse in private and not dating/doing couple things with her ex-fiancé in public. Which for starters give SML false hope, secondly looks extremely idiotic and let me rephrase it for you, SHEN FAMILY did committed crime of siding with the rebels and SML did stand up to the crazy Emperor. Its not like Emperor was only punishing them cuz ML spoke up for them. If you read my original comment, you will understand that I am saying "over and over again" she felt no remorse in private or to her close friends and it kinda looks like ML was used. Then I just pointed out, what she has done so far and what he has done. As for standing up to the Emperor is concerned, She did brought home a run-away prince, challenged crown prince and nearly brought disaster to her entire family and after knowing his identity kept shielding the sixth prince. I said in my original comment, if I have to see it from "Neutral" point of view by removing my bias for FL character....I know FL have to look for Hua family, business and then her principles. ML is last on her importance list, so if you can't reciprocate someone's feelings and efforts, its simple BREAK UP permanently. Not only did I agree with the breakup, I hoped it would have happened alot sooner and ML would have seen signs of this dysfunctional relationship. I just don't like the way, they went about it with FL condescending attitude towards ML for punishing the rebels (who willingly joined Lord Xian faction) and expecting him to completely turn against his family. Crime for disrespecting the emperor used to be beheading in other c-dramas. I want this relationship to die and FL to get on with her business and Hua matters and ML to become commander of the security bearu, then General and finally warlord or commissioner. I can understand her point of view and position but that being said, ML did get "F" over in dysfunctional relationship. I was just expecting her to show iota of remorse in private or even some passing comment about missing him to her close friends but nope !

If FL is utilitarian, then my point makes even more sense cuz in practical world. The relationship like these never survives and I am not advocating for completely balanced relationship cuz its impossible but from my experience and what I have seen, there are stages. Sometime you sacrifice and stand up for her in hard times and when you are down, she stand for you.....she normally throws tantrum around but in tight situations, you can count on her she would be there for you. The relationship may look zig-zag but its inherently balanced and graph may skew towards either party but is in acceptable limit.....FL in this case refuse to stand up for ML entirely (its always me,me,me and my family for her). So from emotional point of view, she believes he is supposed to that for her cuz of love but from practical point of view, she must know relationships like this won't last and everybody has a lower limit/boundary. Too FL, first its her need ML should and have respected, then her family needs and then even after that her ex-fiancé (who did commit the crime and her family was the part of rebel faction) needs are more important than ML/his family needs. Do you see now where ML stands in her mind? I wasn't talking about impeaching the Emperor, I was saying ML should publicly make a huge mistake (not crazy enough to justify murder) and have the court impeach him for breaching the norms of the society and staining the reputation of imperial family (Minister of rites use to do this), which will force Emperor to demote him to commoner.

Okay did you hear me complaining about their unbalanced relationship before but FL has crossed the bottom line and is in manipulative user category. Secondly the drama is woke to begin with cuz females of that era didn't have any rights and definitely not enough to act like FL and own business and properties. Lastly we all are giving way too much credit to Emperor, I refuse to believe ML have no way of dealing with him. He can do something stupid and break some cultural norm/do taboo thing like going after someone's wife and entire court will be in uproar asking for his disqualification from Imperial family.

Fair but I was talking about showing remorse in private and "but if we had a fight/break up and my g.f was acting lovey dovey with another man", I accept your condolences, but you have missed the word "BUT" and let me clarify it for you, it was a hypothetical situation I was talking about.

If they are getting away with something, they would continue to do it and make money unless someone points it out or more realistically, they suffer the economic consequences of their actions. You can even see it here, majority believes FL is pious and without error here but I am presenting exactly what she has done (with out the feelings) and it don't look that good...I know majority thinks I am being stupid, harsh and idiotic cuz leads will make up and that idiot will take her back.....but too me, good will of last 5 episodes is not going to wash away "sins of 35 episodes" and it changes nothing. FL will give him attention, when she feel like needing her puppy back and he will come back to owner...like nothing ever happened and she didn't spend romantic night with SML.

I know everybody wants to be treated like princes from those old legends but nobody is willing to learn, what she did to garner that respect and loyalty from a person. I will stop this there cuz people will label me misogynist, I watch these dramas cuz there is nothing good airing in Hollywood and Asian industries and I see way too much sadness and misery in hospital as doc....I have to see some fluff some keep my sanity, for first 20 years of my life I have played "Blood and gore games" and watched/loved stuff (yeah, I use to watch above 18 stuff even at age of 7) like "Spartacus". Needless to say, it has side-effects especially gaming and I needed to change my taste. So I started watching cdramas !

You can point out my mistake and tell me, where I lied about FL behaviour and bad mouthed her. Trust me, when I tell you I was enjoying this drama and want it to be wrong but this current trend in C-dramas where they make "Males" absolutely useless, hopeless, optionless, with zero EQ and no resemblance to reality. FL on the other hand can make mistakes of "Abhorrent" degree and get away with it cuz hopeless idiot will forgive her.....like FL's have get away with mistakes, that could have lead to ML entire clan execution. While the same F.L can't seem to forgive a minor mistake of ML to the last episode !

I am stating facts and I have said, if I have to see this from neutral point of view. Which means removing my bias for Jing Yi and FL, accepting the reality and you can also see it as "Man point of view". The best ending would be them going their separate ways, FL don't know exclusivity and do everything she did with ML with SML. So, in my opinion She never loved him.
I can only speak from personal experience, we (my g.f and me) work in hospital and have to deal with 100's of people from opposite gender but if we had a fight/break up and within days my g.f was acting lovey dovey with another man.
The relationship is done for and there is no hope of rekindling our love, its not that I don't trust her cuz I will be willing to trust her with my life even after breakup.....cuz she no had exclusivity, things we did and memories we had were nothing to her. She can do that with anybody and it holds no special meaning to her.
I will swallow the bitter pill and accept the truth/reality, I was never that important in her eyes and it was all in my brain. She used me for gain, then threw me in the bin, replaced with another one (who can provide value)....see "game is a game" and I were the idiot to begin with (who didn't recognize the red flags), who allowed her to do me like that. The F.L behaviour in this episode seal the deal for me.... although she has right to her life and choice but boy, she did him dirty !

Okay allow me to paint a different picture.
She broke up with him without any remorse, invited her ex-fiancé back in, ML helped her multiple times in tight situations (I am not taking anything away from her), without him she would have been long gone and probably dead due to her reckless behaviour....even if not for love, she could have shown a little bit of emotion or sadness for the person who helped her but nope !
What I am trying to say here is, she would feel bad for street beggars, poor girls without money, hungry people, her ex-family who ditched/kicked them down in hard times....Just not the one, whom she is supposed to love and who helped her greatly !
Now are you getting the other side, there is nothing wrong with being rational and intelligent, but FL is portrayed as someone caring who sympathize with the poor but she has absolutely nothing for her greatest beneficiary. If they portrayed her as career oriented and business above anything, it would make sense but she is not like this with other people.

If I judged this situation from neutral point of view a, I would say the relationship was very one sided (no give and take). ML did a lot and received nothing, he pays a very high sum for her sister living expenses to Hua family and even then, Shao Yoa is working for them like other slaves and girls but receives no pay from FL (or FL cancels her the mortgage for the amount of work done).
Shen family "Fucked around and found out" but she blamed the whole ordeal squarely on ML and emperor obsession with their relationship, the letter to rebel and SML shit talking doesn't mattered to her.
To sum it all up, She used ML for benefits and run away when the first signs of trouble/problem appeared, where she may have to sacrifice/stand up for him. Then after running away, she sympathized with her guilty ex, who was suffering the consequences of his own action and his family stupidity and show no remorse for ML or his love. Now judging from the evidence, SHE NEVER LOVED HIM TO BEGIN WITH and fool got used !
Relationship is two-way street and one-sided love never yields positive outcomes, its also better for ML cuz his character lacked substance and it was all about FL and her problems. Now he will have growth as independent character, who will find his calling in the world, do his job as proper commander and find a valid reason to go against his uncle.
Funny thing is I don't even like the guy, he is a bad actor and casting mistake, and I watched his show cuz of Jing Yi.

After reading this, I am going to put today's episode on hold and hope that...Express package drops tomorrow.
