Yes Pursuit of Jade, it's very noticeable (writing of his character being the weakest with far less impact scenes & screentime).
Maybe yeah that's the biggest determining factor (having two couples may get some people think they're competing). I take it more as synergy though (they represent different dynamics & phase of relationship).

How they work in cdrama ugh I can not stressed that enough, it's really saddening to see all these actors you like fight for eachother in the back (their agency to be precise) for the highest billing & even worse can not be cast together due to it, like I've never seen anything like this when I watch kdrama, even thing as simple as putting their names first & now with strokes too can be a problem in cdrama casting 🤧

Uhm idk but I think their scenes are more than supporting characters worth though & equal billing doesn't necessarily translate like that, I think ZSX gain much buzz too w/ vos (fav character in rank) so it means the writing/directing works well for him too. But I get the point, it is what it is (already get to this point) & it's hard to please everyone.

Although I don't see this many complaints when other drama does the same too 🤔

For instance, ZLH character may getting sidelined by the writer/director in POJ but the fame that he gets with this drama is impeccable so it doesn't always work like math & I don't see much people complain about it either.

I agree that ZSX character here being shown weaker & isn't up to the set up they create earlier. But I don't think it's easy to make a drama with 4, 5 main characters (include Yan An) and make them all center, it's bound to hv more focus on certain characters coz how can you write a drama with this much complexity & giving equal screentime & focus to all equally (why I said this cause eventhough screentime is not your main concern, but others still think so to even countdown their fav's to minutes). I think the director (& writer) already has manythings on their plate to be concern at.

Even in POJ they can't apply it well (ML has no worth mentioning fightscenes & work more as FL accessories with less screentime too) , let alone this drama with this much complexity.

And knowing Cnetz, I feel it's a double edge sword regardless GJM announce this drama as equal billings or not

I think the first half has ZSX & CDL as center focus (w/ the exception of ep 9) & the later half TJR & JJY so I don't think there's much discrepancies. I remember until around 20ish ep JJY has less screentime/less flesh out arc.

Overall I think I only feel bad for ZXS since his arc ended up as a let down (restrain much by the fragment) & I think it's the only part where they shd/could do better.

However, I do think eventhough GJM may has his own fav, he's not the only director who does that, for example even in POJ ZLH character is getting sidelined alot & here GJM's fav's acting is more than enough to make up for it as he's really talented 👀

The novel def has a melancholy tone, they're short & the novel started at a certain period after XYH left ADai and how it hurted her. Their past were told as Adai's memories as she recalls them, so I think for the drama we'll see their interaction from the beginning of their meeting so it has a joyous vibes

Not sure but from the reuters I think for the drama they gonna extend the plot after the novel's ending

It's a really good, one of a kind drama with convulated plot & beautiful stories, heartwrenching romance etc, however they may not everybody's cup of tea as it requires your full attention otherwise you'll easily get lost and think there're plot holes or wouldn't as invested as others etc coz they hv so many things going on & puzzles to be put together later on, this is certainly not a drama where people can watch it while doing anything else (laundry, web browsing etc) so I don't recommend to watch this if you don't hv the mood/time for it.


But if you do, be prepare to get mindblown left & right with their intriguing mystery & revealation.

Also, I'd recommend you to watch at least 7 ep to know their real plot as it's getting real good from there & don't bother much with people who rant and degrades the drama sm coz I find there're some who don't really watch the drama neither even bother to understand the plot & only spend their times to throw shades to other actors out of spite, counting minutes of their favs etc so they won't get to appreciate the drama as a whole neither allow themselves to get immersed in the stories.
This drama isn't w/out flaw but I find they're one of the best if not the best drama from 2026, an all rounder, complex yet beautiful drama with great plot, acting, ost, cgi.

I'm loving JJY real voice sm, her voice is cute yet very expressive with a right kind amount of huskiness giving the character more depth, I hope she never get dubbed by anyone else but herself. Love hearing her voice in Laizhan reuters too calling her lazy shifu.

So there it goes my hope for Youku to finally release this 😭 atp I need to forget this drama even exist. Youku shd change their title to Eternal Waiting instead, I feel like I keep being clowned 🤡everytime there's a hope for it getting any release date or even an airdrop 🥲 just notify me when they're finally airing 🏳

Yep, some people are just having that anger management issues, throwing hate & spite to someone they never knew neither even met & ironically feel proud to show other people on how low they could get, just ignore & report their acc

If you think there's no substance then you're missing the whole point. They capture every sides of love beautifully, from comrades, buddies, sisters, brothers, lovers, people, all kind of beings with layered plot & characters and their very own burdens. They're everything but visuals/styles only.

Haha ik people shdn't expect them on par w/ VOS but VOS has ended its airing so they shdn't compete w/ eachother tho? I'm just afraid we'll loose their momentum (Siba interfere with its release again if they push them back to a later date release)
