I did took a sneakpeak at their ending but am still waiting for wetv sub ep to watch & complete the series, and that means 3 more days remains zzz.... am I the only one? seems everyone have already finished their watching π
While waiting, am reading South Wind novel & I loved it, a good read! I can portray Cheng Yi & Yu Xi in my mind as their characters while reading the novel (thanks to the trailer & find they're perfectly cast), also understand the timeline on the trailer more thanks to the novel.
Those who want a continuation of Qi Yan & Yu Er's journey/ love story shd def watch South Wind, here's the novel/ novel summary which's looking legit heartwrenching & good (seems I'll continue my cry again there, lol) https://www.sto.cx/mbook-140173-1.html
& look what I find:
I can feel Qi Yan's reminiscence on Fu Yu Shen's character (a reserved person with scarred heart). & Yu Er's on Zhu Jiu's (a loving, heartwarming person with open arms).
So looks like they're Qi Yan & Yu Er's reincarnation indeed π
*I've made similiar post on SW page as well & will be moving my camp there after completing SBM, see you there, I guess? π
Move my camp from Dream of Chang'an/ Stand by Me to here, lol While waiting for their ep airing, you can read the novel/ novel summary here: https://www.sto.cx/mbook-140173-1.html (Open it in chrome for auto translate)

I can see where u r coming from. Yang-dinβs last bow analysis is genius. However, for me, Yuβerβs first…
Yes, we need a clearer ending. Imo, the production team leave her brightest smile there as a gift/ consolation for viewers who can't accept his death, because everything pointing at him being dead, except for that one π. I guess, for me their HEA will be at South Wind, hopefully they can release it soon & this time, make it an obvious happy ending, please! π
It's worth to continue, if you watch more ep you'll see it coming tbh, his beautiful farewell, so it's rather expected & my heart has been prepared for it to happen.
Also if you can't take the ending like that, you can also take him as living like other viewers also suggest/ choose to take π
Truth to be told: No he didn't π’ But they show us CRY brightest smile at the end of the ep so viewers who prefer a HE might think otherwise. The production team kinda leave it there for viewers imagination.
Tbh I hate this kind of unclear ending, it's like the writer don't have the guts to pull a sad ending but also not dare enough to pull a happy ending either. Why playing both feet. If it's happy, then show us the clearer picture, if sad, then shows that as well in clear so that we can mourn for it. The drama did more than enough in playing tricks with our mind, it's too much to pull that as well on their ending & make the viewers questioning the whole show is an act to fool us all with & restraining them to feel more immersed just in case it was all just a trick.
To me a HE is just a wishful thinking, the uncle is a clever person but he's not a magician, he even brokedown in tears on his death, no sign of him looking happy/ at peace knowing Qi Yan will lived outside the palace. The divine healer lesslikely could save Qi Yan from his death when he's around evenmore when he's not even present. Looking at Qi Yan's condition, it's closer to impossible.
CRY's smile to me is just a gift from the production team to those who can't accept their sad ending & leave that to their own imagination.
I don't think it's a happy ending, Qi Yan dies, pass his throne to Qi Chen. As expected tbh, he won't be able to survive with his latest health condition, numerous blood coughing, heart damage & poison he had always been given & regularly taken, and there's no more divine healer to heal him, it'd be a miracle if he'll be able to survive. And I think most comment on Weibo also take the ending as sad, he died. Ruo Yu smile at the end maybe to show how she lived the life Qi Yan has always wanted her to have, carefree & happy outside the palace, hence the smile. If Qi Yan's alive, Yan Ding won't be paying his respect by bowing & kneeled down on the street outside the palace when they announce his death, won't he? And how Qi Yan will be able to fake his death if Yan Ding himself wasn't aware of?
I didn't expect Yan Zhi's death tho, gosh, just like Qi Yan, her life has always been miserable, why both of them have to die π i wish they make the ending more clearer, if Qi Yan dies I want to mourn for him π, if he's alive I want them to show him being alive so that I can feel wholeheartedly happy for him π’
I am really intrigued by your comment and I saw the trailer but could not make much out of it but YanZi and Qi…
She's crazy & blinded by her ambition, she wants to be the empress to hv an absolute power to rule Xing hence using every possible way including marrying her own half brother π
after seeing ep 44, am i the only who feels that qi yan is better with qiu yanzhi than cheng ruoyu
I like both π they give different vibes, one is pure love CP, while the other is mature & electrifying CP, I've never feel like this in any other drama b4 so am really surprised to feel this way π And agree, Yan Zhi has more chemistry with Qi Yan than Prince Guang.
YanZi talked about giving a prince or something similar to Qi Yan when they were in wedding robes therefore it…
Right, I think so too, I also read it somewhere that Qi Yan refused to be physically intouch with Yanzhi using his current health condition as an excuse. Guess we'll only know for sure tomorrow, I really can't wait π
Yes me too. I cried in ep 43 when they get married even though I donβt understand a single word π
Hmm.. considering how much devotion Yu Er has for Qi Yan, the words "hate" & "Qi Yan" doesn't seem belongs together in one sentence for Yu Er π Btw, I just read Nisha's reply post below & I think that helps alot to understand her pov more.
I kind of expected Yu Er not to be affected by it because no matter what Qi Yan feels for her he has always made…
Tysm for this post, you just described her pov very well & help me understand her character more. You're right, from her perspective, she doesn't seem to be aware at how much she meant for him since Qi Yan often sending her mix signal although sometimes he also directly told her (like when he said she's as important as the throne itself etc), but yes.. I think I tend to think from Qi Yan's pov that it slips my mind. Yu Er never expect Qi Yan to love her & she's probably just being too self aware with her position as his sword bearer so yes her reaction does make sense. Thanks!
In happy camp many Cnets fans loves him π₯° if you look the comments there.
Ikr?! π what's even more funny is to see how he's taking all the task & question very seriously & putting all his effort & might to the table, but everything ended up as a failure because of how clumsy & easily deceive he is, lmao
The other member & host seems enjoying themselves in laughing & teasing Qiqi to the max & I don't blame them, Qiqi reaction is gold & funny af, poor baby, he's naturally hilarious π€£π€£π€£
