I know it's too early to say this but Shin Ha Kyun is perfect for this role! His smile and gaze creeps me out,…
Indeed, am watching this for YJG & his excellent acting, but when I know SHK will be his co partner am even more thrilled, absolutely loving him on Pied Piper, their tandem is the pairing I never knew I needed before so am thanking JTBC for giving us their perfect casting here :))
Thank you, it seems I messed up alot for not paying attention earlier, I thought she hv a brother complex or something, lol. I love all of his sis, but his lil' niece is the best xD
Just starting this & I like what I see, although there's some part that I missed since I wasn't paying attention that much at the beginning. So, this may sound silly, but can anyone tell me whether Hyun Seung sister is his real sister? I mean, blood related? Am just trying to figure out whether there's a possibility of another love triangle (2nd FL like HS) xD
TBH... I agree he was bad here. but watch Rookie Historian Goo HaeRyung, he does really well there. This drama…
Watch ep 11, he shows his best acting to the point many who previously keep calling him bad acknowledge how they're wrong & how much he has grown as an actor.
she doesn't end up with seojun in the webtoon either, at least here he doesn't deal w a break up
All my reply to you was also refer to the webtoon only tho? Idk, I love the drama wayy more than the webtoon, not just because the execution was better & how it doesn't being dragged & JG is lovable, unlike how the webtoon is (drag & how JG annoys me). But also because how they made this as a story of two scarred person with similiar soul grow bond & connect & overcome their nightmare with eachother's presence. I don't find many drama have both FL & ML suffer from their own nightmare& grow bond like this, only recall Kill Me Heal Me ( & also reason why I love that drama & find it precious as well, just like TB).
Well not gonna lie but some where the real issue became a side plot( her self acceptance & self esteem) and love…
I partly disagree, yes love triangle seem to be their main focus but that's just how the webtoon, their original material is if not even worst, so what do you expect when the original material is like that? They executed it even way better than the webtoon, so that's a plus. As for her character's growth, she stood by herself even when no one around, so to me she have a proper character growth. Suho helps her to find & acknowledge her real self, gives him the support she needed, but that doesn't mean it makes her become codependence.
Let's be real, any person who's having a hard time will always need & wish to hv a certain someone by their side, giving them the emotional support they needed. It doesn't mean to ask them to solve the problem for you, but just being present or giving you their trust & emotional support, you gain more strength to overcome your problem, that's just how human is. For a girl who have insecurities problem & suffered a lot from bullying, her character has grown leap & defeat all of her nightmare even when no one around, so idg why her growth being belittle just because there's someone present with her.
Imo it's like hoping for a suicidal person to overcome their own problem without anyone ever present & be there for them. Don't expect anyone to care, just overcome it by their own otherwise they don't deserve to be called having a proper character's growth?

She's not, after 3 years she got them both friendzoned because she doesn't want to loose any, lmao, the webtoon is really ridiculous at this point, two awesome guys pinning over JG, both can't move on & JG dragged their feet in the name of friendship (ch 147), I hope SH & SJ both find their new love & move on completely from JG as JG in the webtoon doesn't deserve any of this guy's affection. She keeps getting back and forth between both, blushing for one after another but still can't make up her mind to choose. The drama are tons better than the webtoon. I find the webtoon dragging this endless love triangle for no reason other than try milking it the longest time they could. Thank goodness this drama/ webtoon adaptation is exist. They hv my respect from making the adaptation better than the original.

In the drama SH JG have a way deeper connection, they share similiar wounds, help eachother to heal and overcome their nightmare & find their true self. It's way more meaningful than just a highschool first love so it will make more sense for them to still linger at eachother, they only broke up for one year & more and that too only because their situation forced them to, not because they stop loving or missing eachother, not many people has been blessed by easy to find love, esp the kind of love SHJG has shared, so if one has to move on then it's SJ. In the webtoon, JG character has been ruined at the expense of showing her getting back and forth between both guys. Many find her character in the webtoon annoying (to the point they prefer both guys to date eachother than with the FL) & find the drama is better in dealing & show a way more meaningful love & character development which the webtoon is lacking. Imo, it make no sense if they show the FL dating two guys in a 16ep drama only without ruining her character, it'd be different if this is a 30 or 50 ep drama. Also since we know how it would end (she broke up with SJ) I don't see the point why they shd take risk ruining the FL character when they won't be the end game anw. If I want to see a FL character dating two guys or maybe a more "realistic" approach I can easily find any western tvshow to watch, so I'm relieved how they make their relationship & bonding to be more meaningful here & also basically reason why I'm loving kdrama more than western tv shows too.
It's a good show, but maybe I'm the only one who weren't as invested on the characters or enjoy it as much as most people here. Like, I'm enjoying the comedy, it's really hilarious & I was really into it for several ep esp when they show us SY backstory (to the point of recommending the drama left & right) but after that, I feel the burned out of the comedy & feel detached to the characters involved.
From all the characters, I feel invested for Soo Young's character/ story the most but her scene is very minimal. To me, Bong Hwan feel dedicated for comedy part to make the drama more fun & enjoyable, but as a character, I don't feel for his/her character that much, highlikely I think it's because most of the time I've seen him in he's either being hilarious/extra or has been suffering for some identity crisis, so idg his/her real side, whether it was Bong Hwan or Soo Young that I've been seeing & the drama kept it unclear until the final ep which's rather too late imho. I wish they could show us more Soo Young's (I find it's rather unbalanced) & show more substance over comedy. The last two final ep is great though, just wish the previous ep is as great as those. Was about giving them 8 rating, but I'm adding 0.5 for that last two final ep alone, so 8.5/10 it is.
I am halfway and enjoyed it so far... However, I don't know if I should finish the 2nd half. Started to lose focus…
Oh I find them even gets better starting ep 11 because they show more substance & dealing with things what matters the most, the only ep I find unnecessary/ lacking is ep 15, but ep 16 make up for it. From all of their ep, ep 10 & 15 are the ep where I like them lesser but I find the rest are great/ enjoyable.
Ohh I think they addressed it well tho? unlike the webtoon, here they show her character's real growth, hv you…
Hmm, though I do wish for a less love triangle focus too like you'd hv hope, but if you consider the original material, the webtoon itself is even have way too much focus into the love triangle with lesser substance, so I find the way the drama are dealing with it is way above then it could be & surpass my expectation. At first Knetz even find there isn't enough material to make the webtoon into 16ep drama, but they actually have successfully made it into a throughly enjoyable yet wholesome 16ep length drama with quite substance while convey good message without being too much different from the original material. I also don't find them lacking because most romcom also only hv been dealing with serious matters from 10ep onwards (just like they did as well) & actually since this is a highschool drama, I find they did the right thing in making it more light hearted & youthful, just stay true to its genre but also didn't neglect their character's growth.
Maybe if they're a standalone drama & not adapted from TB webtoon then they can freely put less focus on love triangle & deal with other matters instead, like you & I'd hope, but y'see the webtoon readers even hv been complained alot on how there isn't enough JGSJ shown dating in the drama like it shd be from the webtoon when I find it's already too many just like you find it has too much love triangle too, so I guess they just can't please everyone, so that's why given the original material they have, I find the drama is already superior in this matters.

Why everyone is suspicious, lol, who's catching whose tails
