Err to me, L is far from Excellence award, even still far to get his first Rookie award. This is my first time watching his works & tbh he is one of the worst I've seen so far. I agree with some people who says there's a lot decent actors who still got a 2nd male lead role or even supporting cast with a better acting than him. He need more experience & not in the level of male lead material just yet to me. And I'd obviously won't compare him with SHS, lol just no.
Also, don't think this is a plain hate for L, people just stating their opinion with reasons.

I actually feel the opposite, I'm impressed with her acting & find she had a great comedic skills/ timing to match with SSR here, as well as the ability to show sincere emotion in her eyes.
Not to mention I just discover her talent playing a real classical music on pianos in the latest bts (for her part in their 9th ep of 16 I think) which makes me impressed for her even more & think she'll shine a lot more in the future.

Agree, his acting at least isn't at the level of male lead material just yet, even the actress who played Nina & some other supporting actors had a better acting performance than him.

I don't even think Seo Yi Do can be anymore cray cray than he already is, but I guess he always beats his own records & nails every scene, lol, SSR really owns Seo Yi Do's character xD ❤️

I'd say his acting is the weakest & lacks depth among the other casts, I can feel him "acting" but I think the writing isn't helpful for his side either too, so yeah, it's making the gap even more obvious between him and SHS/LDG.

Yes, I agree. Tbh, I'm a fan of this PD since Q7D as he always give a beautiful portrayal & idk if it's his signature or not, but ALM&Q7D OSTs had that same angelic/soothing/heartwarming & heartwrenching vibe which's their thing I love the most.
This drama before was one of my fav this year too but I'm no longer able to say that anymore which's why I'm dissapointed how the writing has wasted so much of their potential.

The thing is, I don't even find any comment which refer to ppl mind those two years age gap between the leads. I don't even know SHS & L's age.
My point is, L's acting shows how he's still 'green' in this field, while SHS shows a more mature act, thus I personally see them as not being emotionally compatible & I don't see their chemistry other than being siblings.
(Tbh, I don't even mind with >20years age gap between Uhm Jung Hwa & Park Seo Joon in Witch romance, age doesn't matter if there's chemistry/them being emotionally compatible).
But I think some ppl hard to accept any criticsm for a drama they loved so some may like twisting other ppl's comment just to defend their beloved drama.
Idk why ppl get offended & call other ppl sexist just because they had different opinions.

This drama started out amazing, but then the story goes in circle & they soon fell as boring to mediocre to me, too bad as they had so much potential before but it was all ruined as both writing & chemistry doesn't work & all over the place.

After four episodes, nothing new in this drama anymore, they're focusing too much on the romance which to me was the least interesting part of this series.

If the writing is lacklustre, a drama may still able to be save by:
#1 chemistry or #2 acting
Sadly in this drama #1 is the thing that they're lacking the most, as for #2, well you could say that I'm still watching this because of how well/great SHS act in this, otherwise I'd have dropped this already.
Wish they could show us more interesting ballet performance than focusing too much on that nonsense romance with zero chemistry.

Sameee, he really gets on my nerve, like mooove on dudeee, your relationship with Dada has ended ages ago & the world is not revolved around only for youu X'D~

Here's the thing:
1. L to me give a more natural dongsaeng kind of vibe rather than a manly vibe one, esp when he gets to be paired with SHS who to me felt a lot more senior/give a more mature vibe, so it's only natural for me to see him as her dongsaeng.

2. The character's writing isn't helpful either as L here was written as a bubbly, cheeky kind of angel who often show his child kind of side.

3. The lack of writing was a disadvantage for L as the romance was written without a proper built up too. I get that Yeon Soo was dependable to Kim Dan & it's beautiful to see them bonding, but I don't see him seeing her as a woman just yet, at that time at the very least, he acknowledge, appreciate & help her yes, but it's more to fulfill his duty & in reality there's alot other kind of bonding aside from romance, infact, Kim Dan to me still felt a lot more as dependable brother at that time, as her uncle/parents replacement.

So when she suddenly kissed him and he kissed her back, I was like (o_0), then suddenly just like a bomb they were already mad in love & he even already at the point where he is ready to throw his God/receive whatever punishment he will be getting, only to be with her. It's really felt out of nowhere as there's no progress but from A to Z real quick, the romance feels forced & not believable to me. Tbh, it's even irks/cringes me to see them kissing as I don't even see their chemistry/sparks as a romantic couple, I can only see them as brother & sister who bickers alot.

4. Though I don't ship Ji kang Wo & Yeon Seo as a couple, but to me Ji Kang Woo & Seol hee had a lot more chemistry than Dan & Yeon Seo. I can see them more as a proper, same emotional wavelength, believable romantic pair to me.

It feels like am watching The K2 all over again, everything else to me is more interesting than the romance part, but sadly they're focusing too much on those romance with no sparks, when I can only see them as siblings.
When did exactly he fell for her? just because she kissed him? Eh, I don't buy it. It felt too forced & rushed.

And idk if it's the writing or L's acting but I find he is lacking when he had to convey emotional scenes, am sad to say this but he doesn't move me (though I'm usually easy to get in tears), even the child's actor gave a better performance to me.
L often show the same stares & exaggerating in some of his scenes, his acting doesn't convince me as I can see him acting.

This show is gold I can tell you, they're hilarious & even better than some of those shows who got a 8.5++ rating. Idk why their rating here are so low. Maybe because the leads are not so popular? It's their lost though, SSR is so perfect for his role here & I'm in love with his character, he is hilarious, eccentric but have a big ounce empathy in his heart.

They're not without a flaw but which shows are without it?
It's only the beginning, so there's a room to grow, for a character development, a lesson to be learned, etc, so I wouldn't be too nitpicking & just enjoy the show.

So far, this show has become my fav cw for how entertaining they are, even more than the currently airing angel drama who gets a 8.9 ratings (been loving them until they're focusing too much on the romance part which to me was their weakest link, as the romance, chemistry just don't click/sit right for me.)

While for me this show is indeed one of the best show I've watched on 2019 but I don't see nor feel any chemistry between Dan & Yeon Seo other than being a dependable brother & sister.

To me Dan fell for Yeon Seo too fast & I don't see the gradual step/time when he did fell for her, like one minute he just did his job/mission as an angel and never saw her as a woman but then suddenly he kissed her back & love her, err I don't buy that.

Seol hee & Kang Woo had an electrifying chemistry instead and I feel this drama can be multiple times better if this show is about Seol Hee and Kang Woo's journey rather than Yeon Seo and Dan's, not only because they had the better chemistry but also because I'm so done with this childhood connection/thrope Dan-Yeon Seo had, it's like everywhere in any kdrama I watched, ugh.

Their OST is really something else though, especially Pray by Klang, so damn beautiful & beyond every other OST I've heard.

I love this show & yes imo they're one of the best airing/2019 released show but for me their most intriguing part was Kang Woo's backstory.

I'm more interested in his character because I think his character is the closest to real one as most ppl wont survive for not being bitter after all of those things he has been through.
And I personally liked a drama more when they explored those grey/in between lines rather than keeping it save as a vanilla being :D

The amount of coincidental meeting between Dada & Ma Wang Joon is getting really tiresome. Also, the more ep in, I disliked Ma Wang Joon more & more. I think I liked his character in the manga better than in this drama, here he is just too grumpy & self centered, ugh idk, I just dislike him.
Also, I hope Dada will start to appreciate Young Goo more & stop throwing her anger at him as she pleased everytime she had a fight with MWJ.
Poor Young Goo, it's like seeing a puppy being kicked, he deserves better.
