I love all three roles he played last year, I think he did well playing those three roles however those dramas didn't do well due to bad script or character inconsistent as well as editing problems. I hope the three dramas that come out in the future will have better outcome. Many times he gets criticism when his dramas didn't do well when in my opinion dramas do well or not is a team effort and he shouldn't be single out since sometimes he get less screen times than support characters, but he will get all these criticism. Yeah I thought the first half was better than second half when everyone started dying. The most laziest writing in my opinion as well as the editing was a mess. This would've been a much better drama if it has ended as their wedding scene.

Finger cross all three dramas will be release as plan and will give him some recognition. I was kind of bump he didn't get recognition for ancient love poetry I thought he was so good in that drama with zhou dong yu. They were such a good match, it's too bad those people badmouthing it are missing out on such a good show.

Yang Zi is a traffic star so being pair with her is not a bad thing however xukai doesn't care about that sort of thing. I didn't like loss you forever either when it was announced since it was a love square and I think his choice to choose snow eagle lord is the right choice since like you said it's has fighting scenes as well as he can has more range for acting compare to the character he was going to play in loss you forever, someone was describing to me that character was boring and he's really devoted to the fl, it sounds so much like a character he has played before so no challenge at all. I think as snow eagle lord is a new character, it gives him more challenge to play a character that hasn't been play before.

From my understanding yu Zheng wants xukai to work with yang Zi, he even said so in the past. I think the fans concern make sense if this is another fl centric drama, the fl growth is the main part of the show, then the ml will be a side character. Xukai has worked with yangmi last year and the result is not as good as expected, that drama was also fl growth as it's another fl centric drama. In term of xukai dramas I saw a trend where he is the male lead, but his scenes are very little compare to even support characters. His fans concern are valid, and it has nothing to do with billing because I do agree yang yi being the older and more experience actress should be the first billing. They're just concerned for his career since they think he deserves more. I heard the script will be change though to accommodate the ml and gives him more screen times. Let see if this is just another rumor.

The parents of ml are the main leads of alp. Also ml was introduced as a child in alp, so if you want to understand ml you should watch Alp. It's a good drama, it's made me interested in the sequel, and hoping to see all the old casts reprise their roles ^^

Oh so these romance dramas are similar with the love triangle, that is another trope I hate. Good thing I don't watch that many otherwise I would be bore out of my mind with the similar story. I like fl centric drama just fine, I just don't like when ml is getting less screen time than support characters or sml getting more screen times with fl than ml just to cause misunderstanding between the main couple. For this drama I didn't get irritated when ml broke up with fl, I understood he wants fl to be clear about her feeling for him and her ex. The same with his ex coming back, I didn't think he was cheating on her like someone was saying since she gave him a divorce so he's free to do what he wants just as he gave her her freedom to choose who she wants to be with.

Your talking about the time period. This is a time period where servants are really slaves and living in the palace you have to watch your words and what you said. There's no fairness and only your station matters. The only way you can survive in the palace is to have a strong backing who you can depends on to protect you, otherwise you have to be smart and relies on your own talent to protect yourself from your enemies.

I think it was just a dream sequence so not real. That's my explanation for the inconsistency ^^

I can guess, there was a scene when shanggu looks through baijue memory when she was teleported with baijue into a secret room and she saw baijue battling a creature when he was just a child, and he was really scare unlike his usual manner of being cold and unaffected. Baijue must hated anyone knowing he used to be scare in battle even if he was just a child lol ^^

Agree about Alp i love it for it fleshes out the ml and fl equally. Their love story is a central theme of the drama without it losing focus and having other elements along with it.

I agree with you a love story should have both ml and fl focus for audiences to be invested in. Maybe that's the reason why some people are not in love with this drama because the romance is not the focus and it's much more focus on fl and her career. I like that it does gives some focus on ml past but it's much later, and the focus is mostly on fl and some of the support characters get too much screen time compare to ml. Even the sml get more flesh out than ml. Ml is kind of an introvert so it even harder to get inside his head. I don't hate his character though, I love introvert character it always nice to guess what's inside their head or what they're thinking because they're kind of mysterious compare to an extrovert where you can guess exactly what they're thinking.

She was so likable in the beginning, they did her dirty by turning her from a girl who doesn't want to use her family connection to I'm daddy girl and I'm going to use my family connection to get ahead because I want to get revenge for my boyfriend who doesn't even care about it, and because I'm jealous of his past girlfriend... Girl has no self respect, if it was me I would've drop him like a fish the first time he makes eye at his ex, If she has done that, he would have value her more lol.

When did he follow fl to death. I remember he tried to save her by catching her when she jumped but he was too late. And he raised their child after she's gone. Most romantic dramas are fl centric so it makes sense for fl to be the focus and ml is the romantic partner just like in this drama fl and her career is the focus, ml is like a side character. If you want dramas with ml focus, you should watch other genre, my favorite genre is wuxia it focuses on bromance more than romance and ml get to shine more. For drama that you want fl to show as much love to ml as ml loves fl, I recommend ancient love poetry. That drama ml is totally badass, and fl is so in love with ml that she would do anything for him. Their love story feels more even, both make sacrifices for each other ^^
