In term of ml I didn't see him as a doormat, sure he did many things for fl but that's due to the fact he felt he failed her when she needs him the most, and that was when she was at her weakest as a human. Let say if fl wasn't a goddess, if she jump from that platform as a human she would've died. Fl loves ml as a human first that's why even though she was humiliated for being human, she still choose to stay in the heaven realm to be with ml. I felt she could've leave with her child and left ml if she wants to, but she made the choice to leave her child behind and jump by herself instead of doing that show that she still has feeling for ml enough for her to entrust her child to him. Ml became a father, and took care of the child in place of his mother. That child was lucky to have such a father even if he loss his mother since young.

Ml was raise very strict by his parents so all he cares about is responsibility. Before he met fl, we seen him do battle with a creature to get rid of any evil that threatened the heavenly realm and the human ream, so his basis existence is to becomes a ruler one day and doing his duties for the heaven realm. Ml would be very boring if he hasn't meet fl and fall for her, and starting to live and behave more like a flesh and blood person.

I can't say the same, I felt both ml and the master are interesting in their own right. We don't get much about the master beside his feeling for his student as a result he would take the thunder strikes for her. Let agree to disagree, I actually felt ml became more interesting after he met and fall for fl.

The trial of ml is by getting thunder strikes, fl also has a trial like that too, but her teacher took it for her. The trial she had was due to her confrontation with an enemy that was more powerful than her as a result she was turned into a human and has to undergoes a trial to get back her power. I don't remember if she gotten stronger or not but she did regain her power after her trial.

The love story only works because of ml because of how devoted he's to fl, and his love for fl is what move the audiences due to how long he has to wait for her even though he does not know whether she's alive or dead. Most audiences are females so we do love a romantic love story even though their love was filled with so much heartache.

The master character was kind of interesting, he was showed to be in love with his student, even though fl never realized it herself. I don't think she see him as anything other than her teacher though.

What matter is the fl likes him, and he's exactly the kind of no nonsense guy the fl needs in her life. Is he boring, not to someone who has lots of experience when it comes to guys and know that a sweet talker does not equal a good boyfriend material. Also it comes down to what types of guys you like, someone who can express his love in words or someone who express his love by action. In my opinion action speaks louder than words, also not everyone are good at expressing themselves by talking, they're more comfortable at showing their love by their actions.

I don't agree with you. She was under a trial and loss all her power and became a human and met and fall in love with ml. She was always a goddess, she only regains her power post trial. Also that was a love trial she has to go through with ml it was their destiny together, so he was included in her destiny. Also I don't doubt ml suffering, he also has to undergoes trial of his own when he has to take the thunder strikes in his trial. The different here the pain he felt is physical pain while fl pain is mentally. The ml also suffer after fl jump and committed suicide no doubt, and his guilt over her death. However thinking in term of her losing her sight he was taking her eyes a human to give to a goddess, that goddess will regains her sight, but a human fl cannot. Just by thinking it that way ml way of protection was not enough, he thought to protect her by causing her the most pain when even the person she trusted the most would take away the one thing she values the most her sight. Losing her sight meaning not able to see her child and the people she love. Her jumping was due to feeling exhausted as she loss everything she values even her trust in the guy she loves. I know ml also suffer for failing fl, that's why he felt so much guilt over it all post her trial. That's also why he tried so hard to make up for failing her, and as a result fl finally forgiven him. In term of their love story it was what attracts most people to watch eternal love, without it it wouldn't be as popular. In term of fl and her master I kind of agree the drama is about fl journey and trial, her attachment to her master was due to how he was a big part of her life.

What are you talking about. Ml might not be as talkative or a sweet talker, but he show his love in so many sweet ways that is so much more meaningful. Also when he's drunk he quoted her poetry lol. I love ml personality and think fl is so lucky to have him in her life.

It was a trial doesn't negate her suffering. I would argue which one is more painful mental pain or physical pain. Fl was a goddess, but she was reduced to being a human, being look down upon, having no one to relies on beside ml even so she did her best for her child and ml. It was through losing her eyes, that made her become so depressed that she was thinking of suicide and leaving her child behind. A mother loves her child, but to be reduced to such a state was so pitiful. I even felt that anguish from watching through the TV. It was only from being a goddess that she didn't die and regains her power as a goddess. He took care of their child as how a father should. I kind of understand why she was so willing to lose that memory when she was treated as less than dirt by those so call gods and ml couldn't protect her.

Are you talking about the other man, her teacher, he's someone she loves and respect, but they don't have any romantic involvement, so that's totally different. They had a long history of being teacher and student so I don't blame her for being attached to him.

I guess we have different opinion since I still felt it was a sort of betrayal for ml to make fl give up her eyes when she has done nothing wrong and reduced her to such a state that she felt so desperate but to contemplate suicide. Knowing fl, it must be a shame for her to hold those memories that's why she lock them all away. I just felt bad for their child for losing his mother for a part of his life.

That's a good point. Yang hua wants to start over from scratch and gives their relationship another try after giving qin shi time to think over their relationship, whether she wants to be with him in a serious relationship and this time it will be the real thing and not the fake one they had in the past. I didn't think too much about it but this is so like yang hua he focuses on the little details even the date of their starting relationship lol.

Regarding ancient love poetry the first 16 episodes were the beginning of the drama and only introduced the story. Fl is a good actress, she's really good in emotional scenes. I'm not understanding what's wrong with being able to smile because this drama has the fl undergoes so much pain and suffering, her acting was phenomenal as she goes through trial and mature. Ml and fl are my favorite CP so I would say give it another chance you might end up liking it. I'm only interested in this drama due to my love for Alp and was curious about the sequel.

Yeah his character was unusual and really fun. This is due to him being a time traveler, he has the mannerisms and thinking of a modern person. I was just so entertained by his character as well as just love how smart and laid back he's. I usually watch dramas for characters, so I have many types of ml I like one type is the silent and introverted character who is really smart and strong but who is really cold and unfeeling and hard to decipher because he keeps everything inside. I don't usually follow actors/actresses, the only actor I would watch any drama he in is xukai because I like many of his dramas and find him to have the same taste as I do when it comes to the dramas he picked. I love strong fl's and his dramas almost always have strong fls, many interesting characters and plots. The romance is not the main part of the show. My major complaints is his dramas tends to focus too much on secondary characters, as well as having too much focus on fl with other males when you're watching for the main leads romance.

I also like eternal love. I have to disagree with you on that one, I agree ml loves fl but what he did to her by taking her eyes to give to another girl felt like a betrayal. I understand why fl was so haunted by it that she couldn't forgive him for a long time. He did waited for her for a long time, but she lost her memory after what happened so you can't blame it all on her.

At first I thought gao han was since he was in so many dramas with xu kai and someone told me he wasn't. The younger brother I thought the same that he was in the same company as xukai but I guess I was wrong.
