I think this comes down to censorship. Also from my observation Asians are sexually regress. In the old day, it's even worse, women are expected to stay pure and a virgin before marriage. If a girl found pregnant with a child out of wedlock she could be stone to death. In such a society how do they represent sexuality. Nowadays it's not as restricted but I still feel asian society especially the Chinese being much more restricted in their sexuality than western counterparts.

That depends on whether the couple agree to the divorce. Look at how long it took qin shi's brother and best friend they kept serving each other divorce papers and towards the end I don't even remember if they were ever divorced. I was also surprised that qin shi agree so quickly over the divorce when yang hua asked for it. She didn't want the divorce so why agree in the first place, I suppose pride makes people do stupid things. I always thought yang hua didn't really want to go through with the divorce either and he was just testing to see whether qin shi would refuse him, and it was so easy for him to ask for a divorce and gotten it the next day while qin shi's brother and best friend took forever lol.

I actually like that yang hua is willing to put up a fight and make qin shi felt exactly how he was feeling while he was insecure about tjh. Yao yao is a strong and confident woman just like qin shi. She was a single mom after her divorce with her husband, I think as a friend seeing her in trouble makes yang hua wants to help and that's all. Their breakup was his fault because he is too into his career and he might've felt guilty over it. From their interaction there's nothing between them where we feel like they both want to get back together. With qin shi and tjh it's very clear to see he has feeling for her, and even knowing that she still working with him. I'm thinking to her what she had with yang hua was a fake marriage that's why she's not trouble in her interaction with her ex, and yang hua felt the same. She felt she's protected due to her already being married without having to be tied down to her husband due to her arrangement with him, that both of them can divorce anytime they want. If you're in such a relationship, obviously the weaker partner will feel threatened by this, qin shi seems much stronger than yang hua, she's just very assure and think the arrangement is what she wanted. Yang hua on the other hand is always jealous of her interaction with tjh because he's not assure of her feeling.

When qin shi and yao yao interact, we can see both of them are strong women, and they're good at playing the confidence self assure women. They don't want the others to know their weaknesses and that's the thing yao yao was just acting in my opinion to make qin shi jealous because she saw how qin shi see her as a rival. Yang hua was just a victim in their game. He was just caught in the middle between two strong women who want to flex their sexuality by making themselves as desirable. In term of yh and qs relationship, he knew qin shi is afraid of marriage that's why she's in a fake marriage and for him is doesn't matter if they're married or not. I really like yao yao and think she shared lots of commonality with qin shi, and I don't think she's a kind of woman who would go after a man who's in love with another woman. She knew yang hua has it hard for qin shi so she was just trying to help thinking of helping them get back together. I think if qin shi has come to the airport on time, they could've a reunion, but instead she came too late and since yang hua thinks qin shi didn't fall for yao yao lies that why he left thinking qin shi is angry with him. That's why he gave her time to cool off, and even though he moved into the apartment next door he was just waiting for the right time to show up again when her anger has subsided.

I have to disagree here, yang hua falls first, and towards their wedding he already has feeling for her. He even confessed to her while drunk so she already knew his feeling the night before the wedding. At the wedding she got cold feet and it was him that walk her up the aisle. Yang hua has feeling for qin shi but he is not sure of her feeling so he hesitate in kissing her. Qin shi initiate the kiss showed her as an experience woman who is very comfortable with her own sexuality, while yang hua seems very inexperienced in his hesitation. I don't think they do anything besides sleep together on their wedding night but that's up to interpretation since they still have their clothes on.

From my memory you have the wrong order, yang hua told qin shi he likes her and said he wants to date her then gave her a short kiss. Qin shi said she is not sure so he gave her a longer kiss to convince her. Yang hua also the one who came to her room and want to spend the night with her. However once in bed all he did was playing game, this makes me more convinced he's inexperienced when it comes to intimacy and qin shi gotten impatient and decided to make the first move.

I don't know how experienced yang hua is I can only infer from his own responses when it comes to the opposite sex and just his way of speaking to his friend when he was admiring a co-worker and yang hua went online and bought something for his wife, or when a coworker has a crush on him and he was openly admired by his females coworkers. He came out on his own and admitted he's married, made me think he's very loyal and doesn't play games when it comes to females.

He and yao yao were childhood friends before they started dating in university. That makes me clear he's a late bloomer, and not sexually active. Also where did it said he two time yao yao, from my understanding this is all in yao yao imagination due to how much yang hua obsess with his career. You see yang hua as a normal guy, I see him as a nerd who's only cares about his career in his past and that's why he got abandoned by his girlfriend. What yao yao was afraid of is yang hua cares more for his career than her, and in order to advance in his career he would get together with his boss's daughter by marrying her. That didn't happen, so where do you get that idea that he was two timing her other than yao yao's own insecurities.

In romance dramas the audiences are females so it's usually focus on fl and her inner thoughts, while we don't always get ml's pov. Also this is to cater to female audiences since these audiences don't like cheaters or two timers especially in Asian dramas compare to western dramas. This limit the writers to what is acceptable behaviors for ml.

For this drama, the ml is such a refreshing change to all the perfect ml, he can be called perfect if you want an ml who's caring and supportive but he flipped the normal accepted norms for ml. He's shy and awkward in social setting, his thinking of living within his own means, or he's not threatened by doing things that usually accept as women's chores. Also in romantic situations she's the one that makes the first move because he's inexperienced compare to all those pure fl's fl in this drama knows exactly what she wants, she's confident in her own sexuality. Ml is portrayed as very insecure due to his own inexperienced and he doesn't believes in his own appeal hence the constant jealousy with fl's ex.

I actually like what the writer written about ml and his changes as he fell in love with fl, he went from being detached to someone who put fl ahead of his own feeling. To becomes selfish and thinking for the future, and becomes more assertive. If yang hua has stayed constant and give qin shi that much power over him, she would always taken advantage of his understanding like what you said how she didn't draw the line between her ex in their interaction. I think this is also because she was assured of yang hua's feeling for her. As the last few eps we see qin shi becomes threatened when yang hua's ex came into the picture, I think that was the push she needs to realizes her feeling for him and how much she needs him in her life.

What's fake about ml here, he seems very genuine . I think he's a very interesting person, his feeling and motivation feels real to me, so what fake about him is it because you can't accept there are guys who can be good at housework and want to stay home rather than working at the office? Just like there're women who only cares about career and don't want to have anything to do with marriage? Dramas are meant to exaggerate, lots of time when we're watching a drama we look for realism but also want to live in fantasy. Dramas can be base on real situations but also tend to exaggerate, but that's the appeal of watching dramas...

I don't think there was any interactions between yao yao and yang hua beside meeting her at the court and giving her a ride, and then later agree to help her when li dai asked for his help. Also after hearing about her trouble being out of a job and having to raise a son by herself I think as someone who you used to care about and a childhood friend I don't see why he couldn't help her when she was in trouble. He went to her apartment to give her the money and i think that's all of their interactions. It was a coincidence qin shi went there at the same time yang hua was and he didn't want qin shi to know he was at yao yao apartment so he hides from her. I assumed he wasn't ready to face her at the time since they were still on break, and he was afraid qin shi would misunderstood if she find him there. That's why at the bar i think it was all yao yao doing and has nothing to do with yang hua, he went along because he realizes yao yao was helping him to make qin shi jealous. Also yao yao returns the money, so I don't know why you keep bringing it up, it's his money so he could gives it to whomever he wants.

Also yang hua having to testify is much later since li dai asked qin shi for help to get yang hua to help his old boss. Yang hua was on the fence about it, but he still agree to help him after thinking it over. Qin shi being black mail and wu fei send the pic made yang hua worried for qin shi and he even asked her if she has something to tell him but she didn't tell him anything. He chose to trust her and that's why he told his friend he believes in qin shi, that's different from actually knowing about it.

What is so different about qin shi feeling threatened by yao yao and yang hua feeling threatened by tjh is qin shi was about to married tjh and it was her family that caused them to be apart. Now that tjh is made himself available again, yang hua thinks it's time for qin shi to face her feeling for tjh and their unfinished business. With yao yao and yang hua they haven't met in a long time, and it's not like yang hua to suddenly develop feeling for yao yao, every time they're together there's this awkwardness between them I think it's due to yang hua being uncomfortable since they had an unpleasant break-up.

If tjh feeling wasn't a threat to yang hua then why would yang hua told qin shi if she wants to get back with tjh they can get a divorce since they agree they will only stay in the marriage for three years or something like that. He voice his feeling in such a way that it clear he thinks qin shi still has feeling for tjh, that was when tjh gotten injured and she offered to drive him to the hospital, even waiting outside with yang hua to make sure he was ok.

Refusing to hug yao yao showed he has no desire to start anything between them. Yang hua has always been loyal to qinshi, he never once has any plan to get back together with yao yao.

I saw the same ep as you do, and in my opinion he went to the bar after hearing from qin shi. He didn't have any plan with yao yao, his plan was with that investigator who was working for both him and qin shi.

Yao yao saw him before qin shi and she decides to help him by making qin shi jealous and making qin shi to believe her lies. Yang hua was surprised but he played along since he also wants to know qin shi feeling for him. Also let say if he was planning ahead why didn't he bring his car they had to call a taxi so it's even more clear it wasn't plan in advance. Yao yao saw how much yang hua is in love with qin shi and she decides to help him at that moment seeing him being hesitant towards qin shi because he doesn't know how to bridge the gap between them. At the airport she even apologized to him after looking around since she was the one who told qin shi yang hua was coming with her. Maybe she was thinking qin shi will come running to snatch yang hua back. Yang hua didn't think much of it, because he didn't believe qin shi will falls for such a lies. He left the airport right after seeing yao yao off.

I do think the last few episodes are kind of jumbled, so we are left to piece it altogether. In my opinion yang hua is a straight lace guy, he doesn't know anything about tricking a girl to fall for him. He thinks qin shi was angry with him about the night she ran after him, that why he gave her time to cool off before he comes back into her life. I think that's why he waited a few months to come back while making preparation for their future.

She should've tell him when she was being blackmail by the guy, that was before his boss ask her company to investigate him. She risk her relationship with yang hua by keeping it a secret since he found out from wu fei instead of her. If he didn't trust her, that would've look like she was cheating on him by going behind his back and being intimate with another man.

He was afraid qin shi would get mad finding out about his ex, agree he shouldn't keep it from her. Yang hua is not very social so he doesn't understand how to be in a relationship, many times he has to ask his father and friend for advice. He didn't tell her about his ex because he hasn't seen her for a long time, so being asked by his girlfriend all of a sudden he didn't know how to answer. Also I don't think he was being evasive, he just doesn't understand why qin shi would be angry since he explained to her it was all in the past and to him he can't change what happens in the past. He didn't see yao yao as a threat to his relationship with qin shi unlike tjh. Tjh work at the same company as qin shi, they came into contact together all the time. He knew about her fake marriage and he has feeling for her. Before he didn't know about their fake marriage, he already showed too much care for qin shi even went looking for her when he thought she was in danger. With him knowing about her fake marriage he even ask her to marry him. That is a much bigger threat to yang hua than yao yao ever was. He didn't understand qin shi anger when he explained to her about yao yao because he doesn't see himself getting back with yao yao ever in the future. But he does see qin shi could get back together with tjh if he took himself out of the picture giving her time to make up her mind about tjh or him.

I remember him saying to her he likes her and want to have a relationship with her, so he did tell her his feeling many times. It was him that made the first move and asked her to be his girlfriend. Also qin shi was really prideful, she could admit to herself she didn't want to end the divorce but she still agree to it because she doesn't want to appear she needs him since he was the one to ask for the divorce. Things would've been totally different if she has just tell him she didn't want the divorce.

Li dai is always joking to qin shi about her and yang hua relationship, she even said she want to steal yang hua from qin shi, but it was all just joking between friends. Also li dai told qin shi everything, so everything qin shi knew about the case came from li dai including yang hua helping her.

Qin shi didn't let tjh took over the case because at the time her boss told her she could get her job back, and she doesn't want to back down. Tjh was offered the job first but he refused because he saw what that employer was doing to his female employee. After that qin shi's boss gave her the job, tjh found out and offer to take back the case and qin shi refused. Both of them saw the same thing yao yao was the victim that's why they didn't want to take the job in the first place, but qin shi still took the job because she was offer a deal by her boss that she couldn't refuse.

I also watched many of xukai's dramas. The one that I watched that's his or not his most have sfl who were really horrible, they would go so far for love and embarrassing themselves in the process. While the sml almost always are devoted to the fl and would do anything for fl. Such different writing for sml and sfl. Only a select few that didn't have that happened.

I think they were trying to show yang hua being assertive by doing things selfish for a change instead of thinking of qin shi and her feeling only. He was thinking of their future and making plan for them. There could also be some scenes that were cut out so many things were kind of jumping all over the place in order to end the scenes. That's why it would be nice to have a whole ep of both of them together after being apart for so long.

Even though qin shi was taking on the case against yao yao, she was always on yao yao's side. She took on the case because her boss said she could get back her old job, but she chooses to quit after her boss made her drop the case and she refused. She got li dai to help yao yao, so from the very beginning she was seeing yao yao as the victim, so when li dai asked her to help yao yao she switched side.

I didn't say qin shi helped to yao yao didn't have anything to do with yang hua. I think it does, but I also saw she was seeing yao yao was in trouble and want to help her as a woman who believes in justice and doing the right thing. Li dai was the one who keeps questioning her and told her about ethic, and not selling her soul to her career. Li dai is also a lawyer and she took on the case to helping yao yao even knowing she could lose a case against a big company. Why yao yao is not rich, but she still agree to represent her not caring whether she would get paid. That is her own work ethic, and she kept reminding qin shi of that, qin shi switched side because she also see yao yao as a victim and in need of her helps. Agree lawyers don't always represent the victims, but lawyers also have work ethic. Like qin shi and li dai they both saw a wrong was being done to the employees of that hotel and decided to team up to help the victims even though they didn't get any pay from it. They did it out of their own hours. Yang hua used to think qin shi only cares about her career and would do anything to advance, but after knowing her he start to admire her work ethic and believe she would do the right thing. He knew qin shi would help yao yao and that's why when he was asked by li dai he agree to help. He's the same as qin shi, because he saw a way to help like how he agreed to help his old boss even though he was wrong by him, he still helped him in the end.

Why wouldn't he be jealous, qin shi came into contact with tjh constantly, tjh has feeling for qin shi and he has made clear of his feeling for her. Tjh found out about their marriage as fake, who could've told him if not qin shi. Qin shi kept referring to herself as being married even though tjh knew it was fake and asked her whether she has feeling for yang hua and she refused to answer.

It was just a conjecture of li dai that the child was yang hua. Yao yao didn't tell yang hua the child was his, and he never asked so I don't think the child was his, and the way they interact don't make them look like father and son either. Some women are old fashioned and don't have sex until marriage I think that's the case with yao yao, yang hua and her interaction seems very restricted like they never been romantic to each other before. Yh is the silent type so he is not good with words, even when his friend asked him about yao yao he never said anything about her. For yang hua if something is not important he doesn't put his mind to it, so in this case when qin shi asked him about yao yao he thought it was unimportant since he hasn't meet his ex in a long time, so he's confused when qin shi asked him about yao yao.

He brought the agreement up to divorce her that's true, but I think it was just to test her to see if she's willing to go through with it since the one who violated the agreement was him first, but she didn't object to it. She could've say no and refused to go through with the divorce if she has willing to admit her feeling for him, but due to pride she would rather hide her feeling then admit to it, and only after seeing him with his ex that she ran after him because she was feeling threatened, so in a way yao yao did help yang hua making qin shi jealous and finally owning up to her feeling.

2. He wasn't helping his ex against his girlfriend, he was helping both his ex and girlfriend, don't forget qin shi was always meeting with li dai so she got the idea from yang hua through li dai. Qin shi knew all along yang hua was helping li dai and yao yao, she wasn't objecting to him helping yao yao. Later she told yao yao to stay away from yang hua because of her jealousy, not because she was against him helping yao.

You're right that's why I don't have any problem with qin shi working with her ex because i'm not yang hua. He's feeling jealous because most of her time spent with her ex since they're coworkers, and especially knowing he still has feeling for qin shi.

You're right if you're in a normal relationship, then you could make demands on your girlfriend, but they didn't have a normal relationship. He is always worried about crossing the line since they both sign an agreement to not interfere in each other personal relationship. That's why even though he likes her he always hesitate because he doesn't know how far he can cross and not have her turn tail and run. Also I don't see why he has to consult qin shi if he wants to help yao yao. He is not a kid needs to ask her permission to help a friend. Yes qin shi is an independent woman, and it's her choice to quit her job if she is not happy with their demands. That company was taking advantage of her, and she let them for way too long.

I have to disagree yang hua helped them by having them move their target from yao yao's company to one of the executive of the company. That's how they were able to win the case by going after him instead of her company.

Am not sure why you would think she should follow her company demands. She went from a high position to an assistant after putting so much time into her company. It was her decision to help yao yao, and it was her decision to quit. Nothing to do with yao yao or yang hua. It's her own ethics, she wants to go after the bad employer of that company and she didn't want to give it to up even after her company made an ultimatum that she would be fire if she chooses to take the case. Don't look down on qin shi, this is her own choice, her own work ethic. Yang hua said to qin shi he wants to end the fake marriage but he still she her as his girlfriend. This is not the first time he said it to her, he saw how tjh still has feeling for qin shi, and qin shi is avoiding him by using their marriage as a front. Why do you think there wasn't any reason for yang hua to be jealous, qin shi was worried about tjh when he got injured, yang hua saw that and even told her if she wants to go back to tjh she can divorced him. Later on she took care of tjh when he got drunk. How many guy would be ok seeing your girlfriend with her ex all the time. It's normal to show jealousy it means he cares. The same with qin shi being jealous of yao yao, it showed she cares for him. In a normal relationship, it would've been normal for them both to ask the other to stay away from their ex, but their relationship started out as a lie and only becomes real when they start to have feeling for each other. For yang hua he wants their relationship to be real and that's why he wants to give qin shi time to sort out her feeling.
