Was watching ep 5, and there's a conversation fl has with ml leads me to think she's very shelter. She doesn't know what a violin or a phone is, that just means she is not very knowledgeable about those things that foreigners brought in, and from the way all the people in pentasect dress, lead me to think they're old-fashion, and don't like anything western influence. She only knows about her sect business like training in martial art, farming, etc.

Is that so? I haven't gotten to that ep yet. I think her reason for getting the dragon bone before has to do with what her teacher told her that according to pentasect rule by giving her the dragon bone he's engage to her. She seems to be okay with that arrangement, so I have always suspected her wanting to be engage to him has to do with her feeling for him, but she just doesn't realizes yet. I'm glad to hear she finally figure out her feeling in ep 12 ^^

They were childhood friends. I like their relationship, she can be who she is when she is around him without having to hide her real self. He also can say anything to her without her being offended. They're so comfortable with each other, her being childish is a way to get his attention since she seems very innocent, I don't think she realizes she has feeling for him yet.

That depends on whether it's in the script. Both court lady and ancient love poetry follow novels very well, that's why both of them are good, and I like most of the characters there. What I don't like about adaptation is when unnecessary romance is added in to make the drama longer like a love triangle that wasn't there in the novel for example the legend and dance of the sky empire. I feel the romance is dragged out, and the CP is nowhere to be seen, just dragging out the love triangle even though it's clearly showed the fl doesn't have any feeling for the sml.

From watching up to ep 4, I can tell ding yunqi is a really nice guy. He never hit girls, and he gotten taken by luo yunsong because he went easy on those girls who were fighting him. Also I find it interesting that he took out the bullets from the gun and use it as a weapon, that's really interesting, is it because he doesn't like to use gun?

Whether it has a good or bad cinematography is not as important to me as whether it has a good plot. I trust xukai in picking a good script because I enjoyed most of the dramas he in. It's not the script that is bad, but he can't control whether his dramas get edited or him being sideline by the support characters in his own dramas. I love plot and characters the most, so those dramas I enjoy usually don't have many viewers, xukai doesn't do idol dramas and that's why I enjoy watching his dramas.

Yes being an actor need dedication and hard work, and I like that xukai doesn't think of himself as an idol but an actor, and he's constantly learning in each of his drama. He's not just a pretty face, he has both look and acting.

Yeah, I feel the same about ancient love poetry. Lots of people were complaining about it being boring in the beginning, but after finishing the drama, they start to appreciate the beginning since that was baijue and shanggu's happiest time ^^

I don't want him to die though, but yeah I hope he stay devoted because their relationship of master and servant I really like, and it seems ml also care a lot about him ^^

No I don't need 36 eps to judge it, but it's too early for me to say anything yet since I only watched 4 eps. I like watching drama to find out about plot and characters, so being 11 eps, it's too early to say anything about the characters. I'm not afraid of long dramas just as I love reading when it's a long book, so characterization is important to me as well as understanding the plot.

What I like about the pairing is how familiar they act toward each other even after being apart for so long, so I'm intrigued by that relationship since I feel they both care for the other more than they're letting on.

Some of the comments I read on here about the actress, they were saying she was being typecasted in other dramas with other actors so this has nothing to do with xukai fans. Most xukai fans are mature and we respect his costars. I don't like when actresses are attack for their look or age either, some of bailu fans attack him and the actresses he worked with before saying they were too old for him, or they can't act etc. If you're truly fans of xukai you would know most of his dramas are with older actresses, and we love him and each of his pairing.

It's not even a third of the way, what do you expect the drama to give you everything in the beginning. Then to be boring the last two third. Unlike you when I watched a drama I see it as 36 eps, so I guess the pacing is the problem for you. If I watch something, I usually finish it, so I can see what's going on first before judging it.

I don't think he's a bad guy, the way he treat his disciples and wu shuang make me thinks he's a good guy, he just cares a lot about Pentasect business, and is a stickler for rules like most martial artists like him.

The guy who's ml servant, who always call him master. I like how devoted he's to his master lol, hope he doesn't change and betray him in later eps.

I like the cp, why do you think this pairing is off. I find their relationship is so cute, the childhood friends who would come to help the other when one is in trouble. Can't wait to see when they finally acknowledge their feeling for each other.

Yeah, the tag did say multiple leads. It's just I wish a drama where xukai get lots of screen times, most of his dramas share similarities of him being sideline by support characters. Not saying I don't like the other characters, it's just my observation.

It's a very good drama. If you like xanxia you should definitely watch it ^^
