I'm surprised the rating gone down actually, it's a good drama. Do you know the release schedule, I'm watching it on YouTube, and can only watch up to ep 3.

I don't think he's a bad guy, in the first ep, he told fl not to kill when she was fighting the man ml saved, so I was thinking he might've think ml father has betrayed the sect, and that's why he doesn't think he should be the leader anymore. Also he didn't seem to mind the ml becoming the heaven official since in ep 3 he said fl is betrothed to ml and he didn't forbid it.

Xukai has a new drama loss in Kunlun mountain, and it has lots of action scenes, if you haven't watch it yet...

I also like her character, haven't watch anything from her before, but I'm already liking the dynamic between ding yun qi and wu shuang. I think she's so familiar with him that she doesn't have to hide anything from him, even though they knew each other as children, and he been away for years, she still treat him like her childhood friend. Can't wait for their romance to develop. Usually I'm not into romance much, but this relationship is just so cute. Also I'm enjoying xukai action scenes, his fight scenes look so cool ^^

I'm liking his style and everyone else too. Don't know how accurate it's, but the style of republican drama looks like they're influence by western style, and the ml just came back from abroad. This is the period after the qing dynasty.

Is it just me, but while I was watching this drama, the sub is always late.like it came a second later after the person is speaking. It was kind of annoying in my opinion the sub should be time to fit with the voices of the characters, while watching the trailer it was fine, but watching ep 1 and 2, it's gotten really annoying having to wait for the sub to appear after the person already finish speaking.

You're so right. Everytime this drama got a rating of 8.7, the haters will rate it down to 8.6, I seen this happened so many times, it's too bad this drama is so underrated and not as popular as those other xianxia titles because it definitely deserves a much higher rating. In my opinion it should get a 9.0 as the lowest, the cgi, cinematography and music alone are movie qualities ^^

That guy has the habit of asking any random girl to marry him lol. He must not be that popular with girls ^^

I also like the fl since I felt a connection between both the ml and fl already. Also there was a guy who was on the police side, and I think he is suppose to be a comedic character because everytime he showed up I laughed, he has a thing for the fl, and that was the fastest proposal I ever seen a guy ever given to a girl lol ^____^

I agree with you, Jenny Zhang is so good at acting villainous. Interestingly I just felt pity for her in yanxi palace. In ancient love poetry I liked her when she was just accepted by shanggu, she was so different then. This drama shows us how power and ambition can corrupt an individual to a point of no return.

It just means this is not the genre for you. I just find the setting and the plot really interesting, and it's only two eps into the drama. Usually the first few eps are not that interesting since it's just the introduction to the characters, that how long running dramas are like, for this drama it's only 36 eps, so it's not too long and I'm intrigued by the plot already since it feels like a tomb raider type of story, so let see where it will take us.

He's the chief of police, but I can't tell whether he's good/bad since he's opposing the ml.

It's true he's a decendant of heaven official, his father is one so it's inherited from the father to the son, but he doesn't want to become a heaven official like his father before him, I think it has to do with his mother telling him to not become one.

In ep 2 it's kind of funny how wu shuang listens to ding yun qi, he calls her name and she came even though they were surrounded by enemies. Also he trusts her with an important item knowing her sect is after him. Their relationship is not just a normal friendship,, can't wait to find out more in the next ep ^^
