Re-watching after 2 years, its still a divine masterpiece. Li Chang Ge~ Ashile Sun~ ~Cocoon~ ~Direction of Light~
The emotional ballad of Chang Ge Xing is so splendid to the eyes & ears :') TLB just hits different. Hits all the places in the nerves to bring out the most beautiful of the sensations.
Itβs interesting what they cut off in this drama, when they do this, romance is lost and everything else is…
How do you know they cut kiss scenes? Was it told? I don't think kiss scenes would have to be cut for this drama as it doesn't concern any forbidden romance like in Unchained love (eunuch & concubine) that got blocked by censorship. Because in Love between Fairy & Devil, none of such romantic/kiss scenes were cut. Is there any new regulation/restriction passed down for cutting kiss scenes even when it doesn't violate censorship rules?
Its not just Youku who's stingy. None of the platform seems to be releasing much these days. Haven't seen Tencent or Iqiyi releasing content for their highly anticipated dramas either. Only once on a blue moon.
Dilraba's voice is dubbed. Not her actual voice, if you are talking about her voice in the drama.
I did read some of their justification for using dubbing, which also make no sense to me but here's what I know- 1. To get fluent & standard speaking style, esp. in historicals (Some actors have dialects & can't execute perfect line delivery) 2. Swift production & saving time 3. Lower production cost by using voice actors New rules state that actors need to pay on their own if they use voice actors for dubbing, so it has been discouraged. Also, original voices are applauded while some still complain of the voices of real actors (Idk what's on their mind, why they prefer hearing the voices of another person while seeing one act). That's about it. Besides some childish cutesy voices are required for traditional xianxias, which are also the forte of voice actors.
Is this the new trend in Cdramas???a lot of dramas are getting unnecessary cuts for no reason. I hope they don't…
HOPEFULLY! Manifesting some grand editing, writing & directing for this masterpiece I've been waiting for eternity. 1 ep cut will be no issue, if editing doesn't fall short.

The initial announcement of episode number is always tentative which can change in the final review after the drama wraps up filming & advances to post-production processing. Let's just hope that what they did in this case is not cutting scenes, but rather it took 39 episodes to contain their filmed content.

Her real voice is more powerful (acting wise) with excellent line delivery but sadly they still use dubbing in costume dramas. But the voice actor did a great job though, so kudos to her as well.
I so agree - her female shape is plainly accentuated by the choice of costumes. And she does look too mature and…
Obviously, I mean how can you possibly hide a woman's body ? But the way she carried herself, postures, mannerisms, everything while sitting or standing all were masculine & boyish. Focusing on the body is really stupid in my opinion. Also, back in those days, dresses, manners, speech & actions were what made a man/woman, so I don't get the whole point of people still coming after this. Recent comments literally give all those anti vibes from pre-airing or airing days. Plus, all the ones expressing these are 2nd FL lovers, to add more coincidence. All superstars now have once or numerous times been support/2nd leads in other senior stars' dramas, but TLB is probably the only one, where fandom of 2nd fls have been continuously dissing the leading actress or her character.
Yeah, right. That's why she got the "Outstanding Young Actor of the year" at the Golden Angel Awards 2021 for…
Metamorph her face into a drawing to show tears? I'm not sure I follow because when I watched I saw real tears, sometimes drops in silence, sometimes suppressed weeping, sometimes ungly crying, sometimes helpless battle cries. I also saw the emotions Li Chang Ge would be immersed in or covering to wear a cold mask/ despaired, battered down emotions with continued experience of painful encounters. Every single portrayal is characteristic of Li Chang Ge. What we see & perceive & take away to form a conclusion are indeed different. I consider it her one of the best performances, some might prefer the more expressive roles of hers. Cheers.

Tbh, even when I know their real ages, they look like the same age to me throughout the drama. There's a whole thread dedicated to "why" Dilraba got cast as Li Chang Ge from a long time ago, addressing the many ageist & hate speech/ disguised haters raising questions as to why the "younger 2nd fl" couldn't be Chang Ge, etc thrown at her by antis. I'm seeing some of those attempts in recent comments. Looks like that discussion thread needs a revival for a few here again. Even if the recent ones don't mean so, people certainly need no telling that "age" isn't the criteria sought after by directors/producers for casting "actors" in iconic roles with unforgettable nuaces & charisma, like Li Chang Ge. Powerful acting is what is sought for carrying a drama. Unless its a production wholly dedicated to be centered around cast under 95liners, as in the case with LLTG (even there, the actors were older than the ages they were acting). I mean, there's rarely ever coincidences where actors act roles their age. That's why they are "actors".

No offense to you actually. Ofc you are entitled to your opinions & liking. But if you understood the character Li Chang Ge, you wouldn't consider her acting as "weak" & with no "authentic emotion". If you look at things superficially without deeper exploration to their inner feelings & character traits, interpretations & comprehensions are bound to deviate. But then again, at the end of the day, to each their own. No hard feelings.
