Wait, "there's lots of actors , they need jobs, so xianxia is produced", - Xianxia is a genre that needs the highest budget, & xianxia is an exclusive genre that China excels at producing since the beginning. Actors can find other whatever dramas to do their jobs. Also another factor is most actors/actresses in chinese entertainment industry got propelled to stardom because of starring in xianxias. CGI is NOT the most important thing for xianxia, there are classical hits that people will revere & re-watch no matter how bad CGI they have compared to now. Dramas with excellent CGI can actually fail if they aren't gripping enough. While I'm not a fan of xianxia stories with god & goddess & their trials, mixed fantasy Xianxias, like TBW are really awesome, and there are more like these, a genre called Xuanhuan. As for what Dilraba will choose if given a historical & a xianxia, it completely depends on the appeal of the story & her role, not the genre, she always takes this thing into consideration rather than your cut-throat choice of picking historical over xianxia based on the weight of your personal pros & cons. But it doesn't work like that. She chose TBW herself when the director asked her to during TLB, she was reading the novel at that time & came across that offer coincidentally, imagine what an AWESOME role we would be deprived of seeing her in if she rejected xianxias just based on what you are saying.
At the end of the day, the most popular & appealing genre of Chinese entertainment is xianxia & historicals, encompassing domestically & internationally.
The last but not the least, TBW didn't take that long of a time to put the production out on air. Usually, others take way longer. The time TBW took is a few days over 1 year of filming which is the shortest time taken for an S+ class Chinese xianxia to air after filming.

No one avoids doing a project just because it takes time for post production though. All chinese dramas go through that including modern ones. Prosecutor Elite is a special case.
