Nope, not all romance dramas are idol dramas. Dilraba's debut drama Anarhan is a serious drama, then The Long Ballad & You Are My Glory of 2021, including her upcoming ones The Blue Whisper & Legend of Anle aren't idol dramas. All of them are serious dramas. The King's Woman is in no way an idol drama either. I think ELOD, TMOPB don't fall under idol dramas either because they are typical & serious xianxia genres. Sweet Dreams, Pretty Li Huizhen, Diamond Lover can be considered as idol dramas, I guess.

I feel you, Every time I re-read, this story touches my heart differently & more intensely. Yeah I saw the tweet, I am also sad, Chang Qing was one of my favorite characters :')

A prosecutor role isn't an every day role, its a very diverse & yes, serious role & the drama revolves around a true crime case I read here & there. She's in a position to do more challenging roles like prosecutor/doctor/police/soldier/detective/agent that bring diversity & thrill when it comes to modern dramas. It shouldn't be boring in the least bit if the plot & characters are executed well. As for usual modern rom-coms & serious modern romances, she has done plenty before, so we get to see her play a brand new powerful profession (if the story & writing permits).

She will always look superior in such veiled costumes because of her beautiful eyes, her unique ethnic features enhance her looks in a veil. Remember the red veiled uyghur dress she wore for a performance? That looked marvelous as well :')

The Long Ballad is adapted from a manhua ( comic ), not a novel. There's no specific order that you have to take, you either read first or watch first, but keep in mind that there are changes made to the drama version. I recommend you to watch first, then read the manhua, since you haven't read it before.
