I do think HMH is a much better model than YY. HMH has more dynamic and controlled expressions and body language. However, I sometimes find him too effeminate looking, which I know many women like. Other times, I find him very manly (especially in some videos/promos with ZY), and these are the times I feel he has the edge over YY. Although YY is also a pretty boy, his facial features are less soft which works well in a modern setting. Both are very good looking men so I understand why anyone would prefer one over the other. After seeing the blood of youth prequel released pictures, I have to say that HMH looks much better in character as TY.😀

Actually, he slowly redeemed himself in the later episodes. When he gave the ghost eulogy to FY, he asked to exchange that book for YH’s freedom instead of his own (which was what FY was expecting from him). When he got his shadow robe back, he immediately gave it to YH so she could be spared when TY entered the phantom’s mind. He continued to live to protect YH when death was an easier escape from FY for him. We forget that his love for YH is as genuine as it can be for BXS. He gave up on his love because he realizes that TY deserves YH and does love YH as much if not more than BXS does after learning about the life exchange spell. Equally important is that he learned it was FY who set BXS up to be abandoned by his village and mom. When he entered FY’s memory, he saw that his mom initially wanted to protect him by sending him away. It was only when she was pressured by the shadow clan leader that she went ahead and abandoned him. This was so important to him in his decision to give up YH as he learned that she was not the only light in his dark world. Of course I am team TY, but I can also admit BXS sincerely loved YH in his own way and redeemed himself eventually. Now, it would have been better if he was the ultimate shipper throughout the series but alas….fortunately he knew to give up.

Me too…but they are so pretty with great chemistry that I would have a very difficult time dropping the series.

Also let’s remember how he is always bringing YH baozi. When they were in the underground cave with the spirits, TY continued to fetch food for YH even though he was no longer her familiar. The other spirits mentioned that the dragon king really dotes on YH since he won’t even let her lift a finger (in the background, you see TY getting food for YH).😂😂😂

I say HMH is a smidgeon more expressive than YY. HMH is better looking in costume series and YY is better looking in modern series. I do think as HMH ages (and he will like fine wine) he has the potential to be better looking than YY in modern series.

He’s not obsessive and does make sacrifices for the FL and is not too pushy. He does give up on his pursuit and redeems himself pretty well.

SML redeems himself later on, so it makes the drama more bearable.

I saw this on first watch as well. Especially how he gave 100000 of his hard earned gold to her without expecting anything in return, how during the shadow fight with BXS, TY was also nervous when YH got to close to him while they were hiding behind a wall. It’s more obvious to us the YH fell for him since we get to read her thoughts and that girl is pure and honest about her feelings. TY’s ptsd over love likely confused his feelings for YH early on.

I think he looks better with black hair as well. I prefer the contrast between his dark hair and pale skin. He also looks more mature with his black hair.

No season 2. HMH did say that among all his dramas, this is the series he would want a season 2 for.

Agree. It has to do with China’s broadcasting censorship. In the novel YH reincarnated with a memories intact (a gift from Chenyi). Since reincarnation was banned from tv series, the director and screenwriter skipped over the explanation altogether. We presume YH transformed into HPS speckles to reverse the dark aura in all, and Ty recollected her speckles over the years until YH was able to reform her former self. There’s a lot to speculate, and so wish their was more focus on how YH came back and at least 10 minutes spent on this pair living free and wealthy.

Me too. I did give a couple of episodes a score of 9-9.5…the obvious ones.😅

It was so well acted out. I had to give myself a few days to prepare for that episode….my heart hurt for the CP who had gone through so much together.

I don’t plan to watch those series/movie, so in my mind, they don’t exist. In my mind ZY is still loyal to TY/YH for now.😀
