An additional theory as what others have shared here is that part of XLH’s primordial spirit is in him so that could have played a part too. It’s probably a mix of his memories/ projection of XLH and that sliver of her spirit.

I've never seen him in any dramas. Only know he was Dao Ming Si in MG2018. I tried watching MG2018 this week just to see how it's like and couldn't last 20 min haha! More cuz of the directing and production quality. I also find that setting it in University make it less believable vs high school. Hope Dylan will get good roles and projects after DFQC.

I am really very impressed with Wang He Di throughout the drama, and esp in Ep 31 & 32. This role is a huge breakthrough for him.

Same here. It was so heart-breakingly beautiful, and I cried the whole time watching it cuz they were so happy together, but it wasn't real, and he was using ALL his power and spirit to live in that dream with her......

A thought also crossed my mind, that the pain of losing XLH was so unbearable that the only way he could cope was to "trap" himself in the dream where she is still alive and living happily with him....

Whoever wrote this part of the story deserve a HUGE MEDAL!!

I thot I've done all the crying in Ep 31, but as soon as Ep 32 started and I realise it was a dream, I started crying again.... and when he had to let her go and wake up...WAHH!!

Ep 31 and 32 KILLED me!! I cried so hard, my nose is all stuffed up! Bravo to Dylan Wang and Esther Yu for their amazing acting!

I cried so hard in this scene....Wang He Di acted really really well here. It's no wonder Esther couldn't help but cry too.

I decided to check out the drama after watching a youtube review by AvenueX. The show has already aired 24 ep by then. I've tried many other popular xianxia dramas but usually cannot last more than 20 min. LBFAD first 2 ep are on youtube, so I started there and got hooked almost immediately! Have never seen Esther Yu and Dylan Wang in other works, and only kn Dylan Wang was in MG2018. They have great chemistry and their performance is so good here!

Ep 15 and 16 is also when we see DFQC and XLH went to the Hunting Camp after he rescued her, and met with all the widows of war. This scene made a deep impression on me, cuz shows how the Moon Tribe people has suffered and also the burden that DFQC had to carry. XLH also got to know so much more about him and his people and why he wanted to freed the 100K soldiers. Such a heartfelt, meaningful and important episode.

The part where XLH was kidnapped by Rong Hao to Haishi and hid her inside the water pot (?) in his illusion, and DFQC had to go inside the water to rescue XLH. Instead of simply keeping her in a prison or room somewhere, this idea is really quite amazing to me! Not sure if this was in the novel, or created by the drama writers. So impressive!

I am rewatching and now at Ep 15/ 16 and I am so impressed :

LOL!! LBFAD is a v diff drama vs JOL and NIF, more similar to TMOPB. What's similar (to JOL/ NIF) is a tight plot, unexpected twist, great chemistry and memorable characters. Hope you will enjoy it!

Oh yay!! Another Inuyasha fan! I've watched it quite a long time ago (from start to finish) and its such an amazing story full of wonderful characters. LBFAD really reminded me of Inuyasha esp how the FL and ML met. Though Inuyasha is a lot cheekier vs the serious DFQC, but both of them are pretty clueless when it comes to emotions haha!

My top favourite is Fan Xian himself. ZRY is not classically handsome but the way he portrayed FX made him super attractive - you are just drawn to him and he has chemistry with ALL the actors. As for other fav characters, it is SO difficult to choose. I really love all of them, from FX's family to Wu Zu, from Wang Qi Nian to Teng Zi Jing, from Wan Li'Er to Hai Tang Duo Duo, FX's sifu Fei Jie and of course the Emperor! The veteran actors are so charismatic and their eye acting KILLS me!! I am rambling on but I just can't get over how amazing each characters are, how unpredictable the story is, how funny and yet how sad the story is. The scriptwriter is a genius!

I love the backstory of the Moon Tribe people too!! I think the name "devil" given to DFQC is a biased one given the Fairy tribe (who are self-righteous and hypocritical). The scene of the women praying shows that the Moon Tribe ppl are just the same as you and me, not this group of "evil devils" as initially thought. It also shows that DFQC is a much more compassionate ruler of his ppl then we thot. Love that the novel writer (assume its the same as drama) made such an opposite contrast btwn Fairy and Moon tribe. Dan Yin is the type of 2nd FL that defies the usual trope. I also like Chang Heng and how he is frustrated with his own people. His reluctant partnership with DFQC in the guzheng scene is such a breakthrough development for both of them. I hope this is a sign of peace between the 2 tribes in the future. As for Yun Feng, he is still a mystery to me, and am not sure yet if he is for or against his brother.

I am literally CRAZY about Joy of Life!! I've already watched it 2X and intend to watch again later LOL!! It made me a big fan of Zhang Ruo Yun.
