Yes I thought I should too. I started the first episode of season 1. But got so intruiged with season 2 plot. Right now suprisingly I am not too confused in season 2 but just wanted to have background knowledge on the characters.

No problem, I can definitely explain. I use my sister's account which has Viki pass, which she had to pay for.
Each drama is different they are some dramas that do not need Viki pass and there fore you don't have to pay to watch for more episodes. However there are dramas that you do need Viki pass to be able to watch past the first 1- 4 episodes ( it depends sometimes.
Viki will indicate this on the episode if it needs Viki pass.
Before Viki also would eventually open the Viki pass episodes to be free however I am not sure if they are doing that or not anymore.
Is the drama you want to watch have a Viki pass sign on the episodes?

No problem. You might also have to check if the drama will be available for you on Iqiyi for your region because it seems like Iqiyi has only selected specific regions.

Normally on Iqiyi it's normally up immediately for dramas

Thanks for the clarification. Well at the end of the day you have a right to your opinion, I have right to my opinion and it's totally fine if you don't vibe with King the Land. I was just trying to give people the advice, that sometimes it's too quick to draw conclusions on a drama based on just the first 2 episodes. There are dramas that do eventually become amazing.
The funny thing is I also enjoyed Business Proposal too, even though of course I do I wish they gave more depth to the backing stories of the characters. But Business proposal still had a great atmosphere.

Well, that is an incorrect conclusion because just because someone says there are worse dramas doesn't meant they are only watching the show because of that. Because I genuinely like this show, not because there are worse dramas out there, but because it interests me and I love the atmosphere of the drama.
The reason I even used that statement of "they're worse dramas" in the first place is because people in comments were acting like this drams is so horrible, when I genuinely thinks it's not.
And I was simply saying, that people are reacting to dramatically because, there have been more worse dramas than is.
But I myself, am enjoying this drama.

I like well crafted stories too but I also understand there are different forms of dramas and movies that tailor to different goals. Not every drama will be an intellectual piece. This is a romance comedy, where the aim is to be lighthearted. Personally for me I am not expecting same template or criteria of an artistic think piece drama. So even if I like well crafted stories I am open to appreciate other styles of storytelling.

Nobodies taste is better than the other, it's simply just different taste.
Some people simply just don't vibe with certain dramas and that is totally fine. We are all different.

I think you're making the drama seem worse than what it actually is. I have seen more chaotic dramas than King the land. Even slice of life dramas or any other mundane dramas. King the land still is not as mundane as them. I think the difference in opinion simply just comes down to different tastes.

Even if taken literally or not, I would still say the same. Giving too much information away in the first episodes wouldn't be exactly the best strategy to keep an audience. And I think people are expecting too much from the first episodes. The story is just beginning, people should give the story time flourish .
We are different, because I was not bored watching King the land, And I watch slice of life dramas a lot where very mundane/ life things happen in majority of the episodes. And I think King the Land has more happening in the plot than some of those dramas.
If that is your opinion of the King the land, that is totally fine, I respect your opinion but for me, I am enjoying the drama so far and I am giving the story some time to build. :)
