Guys am I the only one who felt this whole case was off? It doesn't feel and read like a SToTD case. The extra focus on Li Na'er is pissing me off. It felt like the huntress lady and hermit couple didn't even matter to this arc, they just randomly wrote them in for the Li girl. Edited to add: the repeated slow mo eye staring, waist grabbing scenes, bad acting, and MANY unconnected dots is not the STOTD style that I'm used to. If we're talking OG style, they'll make this very fast. No slow mo at all, or 1-2 slow mo if needed. No one was even looking for clues to find the killer. The killer revealed themselves. And leaving the murder outfit out in the open like that...realy?! Compare this to Mo's Inn case, none of the characters were compelling. All they did was bicker and fight LMAO.
The uncessary romance between LLF and Li Nai'er got me so pissed 😡 It really left a bad taste in my mouth and ruined LLF for me for a bit. The whole case was weird and we only get to see the gang for a few minutes. Don't even get me started!

And the fact that they're just gonna brush everything off like nothing happened. WTF! What's the point of this case then? It felt like they decided to insert this case into S3 and hope no one would notice how out of character it was.
And the focus on court politics is making me zone out. Yes it is important and this is probably a defining moment between the aunt x nephew conflict but the point of SToTD is that they don't add more court politics then they need to. The constant scrutiny into the imperial conflict is wearing me out 😮💨 but j guess this is an important turning point and they had to do it so it is what it is.
loving Ling feng's fight scenes the choreography is exceptional
I actually find the cliffside fight hard to understand 😂 too many cuts happening there. And I didn't like the slow mo between LLF and Li Na'er 😤 bc what was the director trying to insinuate 🤨
But all the other fights are very good especially LLf's stand in episode 5

I love the callback to previous seasons. If you're a fan since S1, the nostalgia hits. I also appreciate how they include details here and there about the world because it makes the world come alive. E.g., the Ever-changing Master and Lao Fei used to hang out--like what? That's cool--I mean he's a bad guy so that's not cool Lao Fei 😡 😉 Or the once grand mural is now a dust of cobwebs. And then when LLF fought the tavern boss, he questioned why this man did not show up when LLF fought the demon king a year ago. Lots of small details here and there that really bring the world to life.
And now my boy Xue Huan is captain of his own team, Ying Tao is starting to assimilate to a normal life by having a job with steady pay 🥹 and my boy LLF finally grew soft enough he doesn't even bash an eye with the PDA he's been showing Xijun.
