I just saw they posted a 5-minute short clip for an ad. Haha I was so happy to see them on screen 😂 I think it's an ad for iQiYi?! Idk but it looked so good with them staying in character the whole time. They even went and shot the whole thing like a drama too.

And the director for knowing how to shoot people. Like there are so many shots of Ding Yuxi where he was practically exuding handsomeness 😝
I just finished watching Love Between Fairy and Devil, and I'm considering starting this drama. I have a few questions…
1. Didn't watch LBFAD so can't comment bc I couldn't get into Esther's character. She was constantly whining so I dropped at ep 13? But I didn't drop this one bc she was too cute in it. Romance is really good with a natural progression from strangers to friends and then lovers. There's a lot of cute scenes and there's no focus on the usual tropes the girl falling and him catching her. Ofc there are stuff you see in typical romantic dramas like holding hands but they don't dwell on it. It happens in the background. Instead Esther and DYX made it really natural between a couple.
2. Chemistry was soo good between the leads. Chemistry was also very good between all the casts. I was pulled in by episode one bc of Ding Yuxi 's amazing acting as a black lotus. He gave Mu Sheng so much life and quirks.
3. There's a bracelet in here that will make you pull your hair. But it only lasts 2-3(?) episodes and then it's done.
4. Pacing between episodes 1-17 was really good then kind of dipped. But I still enjoyed the whole thing. Pacing in the last two episodes of the show was too rushed but I still enjoyed it.
5. Could have used 40 episodes to build out the last two episodes more. Would have loved to see a dark real yandere Mu Sheng. Ding Yuxi would have killed it in this role if they allowed him to.
I just finished watching the whole show and it was so good! You can tell they get along very well through the way their energy bounces off each other. Once one starts trouble, the rest follows.
E g , Ding Yuxi and team cheating their way through the water tank game. Or making up sh*t to win the song game 😂
And the way they all randomly fall back into their character each time the opportunity presents itself is so hilarious.
If you can't get enough of their chemistry in the drama, watch the variety show 😁✌️ DYX and Esther has so many cute moments and sometimes I wonder if they got a lil something going on beyond friends and colleagues 👀 I won't spoil what these moments are bc u gotta go watch the show yourself to dig them out.

I mean, does it have to be a hit drama for it to be good? For me, I enjoyed watching the main lead's love story from strangers to friends and then lovers. I enjoyed the camaraderie between the gang. And I just wanted something lighthearted, funny, and fluffy and the show delivered.
It's not as explosive as LBFAD or TTEOTM. Discussions may have ended but the during its airing time a lot of people were talking about it. The fact that there is over 16K comments in this sub alone should be a testament to how many enjoyed the show. And maybe it's not discussed here but on Reddit and other subs, people still talk about it.

I wonder if they did do a kiss scene but it got removed? Cause Ziqi was touching his lips after they broke from the water balloon.
