Going so so well, until ep 15... the rhythm went out of synch... admist all the rencontres, Su Wuming speech pattern…
yeah idk what the director was thinking adding that romantic tidbit there. it threw me off and made me upset with LLF but it's been a few days so I don't really care for it that much anymore. The cases after this one gets better
All the proper seasons should be horizontal format. But tbh I am not super excited about a short drama format…
Hehe I shall personally watch come December and decide for myself how these cases compare to the other eight. At the end of the day, I'm just happy we are getting more seasons of SToTD!

Maybe when it got lifted they were already done with everything in post-production for S3 and it didn't make sense to go back and add it in π€·ββοΈ
Most Cdramas are high octane romance. Romance in STOTD is pale in comparison. π I read somewhere on weibo or…
I have found that I prefer dramas with romance as a subplot. That's why I can't stand so many idol dramas nowadays bc all they do is fall in luv, have misunderstandings, make up, and repeat. I really like stotd bc the central plot revolves around case-solving with little romance on the side. And we get to grow with the characters. But romance sells, and that's probably why they have to add it in. If you go on social media, the romantic content gets more views and more shares than the non-romantic ones.

My understanding is that this still a horizontal drama, not a vertical drama. Idk the details of what's in store but I still plan to watch it when it comes out ππ

I mean if there was no 40-episode constraints they would have added the extra cases to S3! I'd love to have a regular S4 but oh well π€·ββοΈ
Yang Xuwen's Contender that came out in early May/April (?) was also in this format. Short 20-minute episodes. Think of it as a regular drama but just chopped up into shorter episodes
I know the series started in 2022, but for one reason and another I didn't watch any of it until now, probably…
S1 and S2 are definitely worth the watch! I enjoy S1 immensely for the creepy vibes and two cases in particular were low key scary. S2's cases in particular are more known for its well story telling and emotional impact so I think you'll enjoy them a lot too!
Okay! I went to read up on S4 bc I have the Red Note app and thanks to Google translate here is what I gathered:…
P.S did you know that S2 had an extra case that didn't make it into the drama? They should consider putting that out as a short drama too. I'd watch it π€
Okay! I went to read up on S4 bc I have the Red Note app and thanks to Google translate here is what I gathered:
S3 was filmed with 10 cases in total. Only 8 cases made the cut in the drama series. The other two independent cases will be released as a separate horizontal short drama (not a vertical drama) featuring all main casts. This one is considered S4 and will release mid-December. There are two separate spins off coming out too, but only featuring SWM and guest starring Xijun.
What with the #4 being associated with bad luck (someone fact check me π ) there won't be a full length S4, only the short drama I mentioned above. S4 only has two cases (20 episodes and 20 minutes each) and then they will go straight to filming S5 and 6. Season 5&6 will be filmed consecutively (no idea what format) and I quote from a user who said in an interview the creators mentioned "something romantic will blossom between Xijun and Lu Lingfeng."
Of the two cases in S4, one of them will be focused on Master Fei and his background a bit more. Okay, that's all wanna share! This is all I can gather after reading multiple comments and post.
Yes, I searched!"The story of the "fake musician" in ancient China refers to a man named Mr. Nanguo,…
Thanks for sharing! I didn't realize this was a historical tidbit. I did notice the fake drumming and I was like hmmm...so it was funny to see Lulu and Xijun point it out π€
Guys am I the only one who had no clue where today's episodes were going. This must be a special short case bc I was NOT expecting half the things in episode 24 after everything that happened in episode 23 π It's like they flipped the script on us. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed today's episodes.

My personal thoughts: As if there isn't something already lmao π«© Are we finally getting a wedding next season?
